About BluWater Bistro - Leschi
We opened The 3rd BluWater Bistro location in the Leschi neighborhood on March 13, 2004. Mick McHugh handed the reigns over to us after 22 successful years of running the Leschi Lake Café. With a slight remodel we cozy'd up the place, added some fantastic rollback windows, high back booths, some flat screen TV's, and leather furniture by the fireplace. The menu reflects all the goodness that a cozy bistro should offer, including the ever famous & popular "Lake Side Café" Fish and Chips... gotta keep the neighborhood happy. Stop in for some brunch on the weekends or some late night food.

BluWater Bistro - Leschi Ratings and Reviews
We sat in the back of the restaurant, with a view, but the bar up front was REALLY loud. So loud that it was distracting to our dinner conversation on the complete opposite side of the space. The food was really good and the portions were large. I would definitely eat here again, however not with my in laws next time who happen to be hard of hearing.
We arrived on time and checked in (then the next day we received notice from Open Table that we hadn't honored our reservation and had to have that reversed). We asked repeatedly for a table by the window and they pushed us incessantly to eat outside by the dock -- really more like eating in the parking lot but it was okay. Two of us looked at cars but two did have some water view. Menu was extremely limited especially for seafood and food was okay. I remember much better meals and selections there in the past.
Four of us ate the Asian salad, Caesar with Chicken, Seafood Louie and Chicken sandwich on a ciabatta roll. All dishes were very good. The lettuce in the Caesar salad would have been nicer if it was cut or torn rather than whole romaine put on the plate. Generous chicken servings were wonderful! Lots of seafood on the Louie as well. Very nice business lunch with a beautiful view on a beautiful day!
Food was good but the restaurant is understaffed for lunch--there were two waitresses and a hostess (and I guess someone separately behind the bar for a busy lunch time, which was a beautiful summer day and peak lunchtime. Service was very polite but we had to flag people down. Not their fault--two waitstaff are not enough for a dozen or so tables inside and out!
I love the place. I would recommend to the owner to find a way to get rid of the glare from the windows. I had to move to the other side of the table because I could not see. There must be a 3M window film they could put on the windows that would help with glare and not impede the view.
My daughter and I wanted a local restaurant to celebrate our first ever girls trip to Seattle. We were not disappointed. We dressed up a bit just because we wanted to and we did not feel out of place. We could have dressed causally and still been comfortable! Food was worth it! Salmon was wonderful! The young lady that served us was very personable. I will eat there again when in Seattle!
Very, very disappointing. I'd been to Bluewater Bistro for drinks before and was really looking forward to trying dinner there. We got a table for two out back facing the water which was nice. But the food was really bad! Thinking the seafood would be good, I ordered the ahi and my date ordered the salmon. If I had to guess, I think they both had been frozen. Her salmon was mushy and oily, and my tuna was just unacceptable. I expected a firm and fresh tuna filet. Instead I was served a squarish tuna patty that was practically raw with nasty stringy sinews running through it. They were both so bad that we sent them back and ordered steaks instead. My cajun ribeye was a medium grade piece of meat with some cajun powder sprinkled on it. I mean a high school kid could have cooked a better meal! It was a shame because sitting out back as the sun was going down was lovely. Too bad they didn't have a chef that was of a similar caliber.
I was so looking forward to this dinner, delayed Father's Day dinner! I was sadly disappointed from the START. We arrived 20 minutes early, informed we would be seated closer to our reservation time. The restaurant was over half EMPTY, in and out. At 7, I asked to be seated. No contact prior by the hostess. People walking in off the street were being seated. Upon being seated our waitress arrived and took our drink order saying water and bread would be delivered shortly. After 15 minutes asked her if we could please get some water. Record temperature that day. Bread was brought after meal arrived at 8:00 with one entree missing. It arrived sometime later and the waitress said it was on them for all the delays. The bun was totally soggy, person chose not to eat the meal. Waitress did not inquire if there was a problem with the hamburger even when we said we did not want it to go. Had ordered an appetizer and soup and they both arrived at 7:55. The waitress tried her best under the circumstances. She apologized a couple of times and said things normally ran smoothly. All this is sad to me because a party of 12 came in off their boat and had water, bread, drinks and appetizers in less than 12 minutes.
this was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have had in a long time.
The setting was good looking at the lake, but everything else except for one smiley server, was downhill.
Took a long time to get the food - they messed up one order, the soup was cold and my salad was bland and not very good.
There was a long table of covered with dishes which was only partially cleared the entire time we were there. The floor was dirty. A light fixture was missing its cover. In general it was a place that looks like no one cares about the setting.
Needless to say we will not return to this restaurant.
I really liked the place for our large group of friends get-together ! I am sure their were no complaints about our meals, at least not from me and my husband. We were able to stay a long time after our meals were finished. We have not been to the restaurant for a very long time and really enjoyed it!
We return regularly and never are disappointed. My rockfish was perfect with small red potatoes and green beans. My husband always enjoys the fish & chips, one of the reasons we are repeat customers. I appreciate the zinfandel by the glass as well. We enjoy always feeling welcomed here.
