Booths and great and the views a definite plus.
We went to BluWater to celebrate my mom's birthday and it was an amazing experience. The waitstaff treated us so well. Highly recommend!
We celebrated Valentine’s Day a day late here. Food was piping hot and delicious. My husband and I both got steak and shared the decadent toll house cookie for dessert.
The place was packed but our server was very attentive.
Live jazz was playing but the noise level was very comfortable.
We are planning to go back for a lunch date, so we can appreciate the view.
I've visited this restaurant a few times but I've never seen it quite like this. It was Valentine's Day and they were completely booked. Although the atmosphere was nice (as usual) I wasn't very pleased with the wait. We had reservations and were not seated for 30 minutes! The check-in process was quite manual with the reservations for the evening printed out on paper, names crossed off when guests arrived and then added to another piece of paper in the order that they were crossed off the other. Tables were seated based upon party size vs the order of the list. This type of establishment should have a computerized system for this purpose.
The live entertainment was a nice touch, although, in conjunction with the number of guests in the restaurant, it was almost impossible to hear your party speak. The service was initially a bit slow...but expected. My second glass of Riesling was somehow refilled with Chardonnay (which is what my guest had). However, we were able to get that corrected easily.
On the plus side, although void of napkins/utensils, the table setting was classy (I enjoyed the candles and fresh-cut roses). The waitstaff was super friendly and professional, the food was delicious, and our table was immediately cleared when we finished our plates. All in all, it was a good night!
Great vibe and great location along Lake Washington. Hard to find parking though and there's no valet so plan ahead. Food was terrific, with the exception of my steak was very rare instead of medium. Couldn't eat it and it was so busy i didn't see the waitress for a long time. Everything else was great. Jazz band was playing near the entrance and the clientele knew the wait staff and visa versa. Great "old" feel inside that was cozy and cool.
Valentine’s Day was great and our server was awesome even with her packed section. Food was great too!
Food was average and so was the service. Right now the only thing this place has going for it is the location. I would not go there again until new management!
There were 5 if us for Valentine's 4 of had the special steak and lobster..steaks were cooked medium-rare to perfection the lobster was flavorful and tender. The 5th person had the Mahi Mahi with Crab, it was wonderfully cooked as usual
We really enjoyed our evening here. I will say our server was great and the food was awesome, the host when we called was this younger kid who seemed VERY rude. We almost cancelled our reservation due to his poor customer service skills and general rude attitude, but we didn't. Our server was great and she really did very well. It's hard to find good service in Seattle, especially if you've lived in any other part of the US. I have no idea why places hire such poorly skilled employees when there is such a large job market, it's baffling.
However, at BluWater, with exception to the host staff, the service was great. The food was cooked perfectly and we had a great time.
The BluWater Bistro was perfect for four or us to celebrate a birthday. The view is pleasant and the booths are comfortable and private. So often when you go out to eat, the music is so loud that it becomes difficult to enjoy a conversation. We were delighted that the BluWater Bistro noise level was low. The service was great along with the food. Their house chardonnay was as good as far more expensive bottles. This restaurant is nice for all ages and the lounge area by the fire, is an inviting place to linger. Also, there is a shuffle board table that is fun to play. A most enjoyable birthday celebration. Thank you, BluWater Bistro.
Our lovely waitress made our day! My group consisted of two over 80 and two 20’s. She made our lunch with our grandsons so special as she was so pleasant and so very attentive.
This was our first visit to BluWater bistro. My husband and I made a reservation for dinner. We were 20mins late but when we arrived the hostess was very nice and accommodating. She took us straight to a table. Carmen was our server and she was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice. We definitely plan on returning.
Carmen is awesome and the salmon is the best anywhere
Service was meh. I asked for a pear and gorgonzola pasta and instead got a salad 🤦🏻♀️ Not the same at all, but the salad wasn’t bad. The desserts were good.
Overall, not interested in going again, but it’s not a terrible place either.
I always go for happy hour for sure to see someone I know. Great neighborhood place on the water. This was my first time going for New Years Steak & Lobster, creamy Mashed potatoes, fresh cut green beans. Complimentary Champagne and party favors with a large TV to watch the countdown. What an amazing setup.
Good night out. Very easy going for NYE
Food and drinks were excellent, service was great. Restaurant was clean.
Amazing service and the chef did a superb job with the food. It was really a very special New Year celebration!
Even though we had reservations we had to wait because of over booking. I received my cocktail drink before others got water and sodas (about 20 minute wait difference). We were placed in an odd corner and had to flag down someone to get our waitress so we could order (about 30 minutes after the sodas arrived). I ordered my steak medium rare and got medium well. The waitress offered to take it back but we had other plans and didn't want to wait longer then we already had. We order the Blackberry Cobbler to share as the waitress said it was large (it was not!!) And we could even finish it due to the overwhelming flavor of clover or pumpkin spice.
The food was amazing for NYE and loved it all. Good portions and walked out feeling full. Very grateful to enjoy dinner here. We didn’t wait too long before our table opened up for our reservation time. We didn’t even finish our first round of beverages in the bar and options got presented for a sooner seat near the fireplace or wait a tad longer for a table. Our server was very polite, gave us eye contact and made a point to celebrate the New Years with a smile.
Went for New Years and although it was packed, our reservation got us seated within 5 minutes. We sat comfortably and was served quickly. Great experience and my girlfriend loved it. Will be back for casual dining
Our food on New Year’s Eve was phenomenal and our server was, too. We got the lobster/tenderloin special and it was reasonably priced and the steak was so tender. The cheese board was a little over-priced for what we received, but that’s the only negative we had. In the future, I hope they could add some gluten free options or designations on their menu especially in this day and age and considering we are in Seattle. A wonderful meal!
They did a great job considering they were operating without electricity!
Reservations were not held for anyone, ruined Christmas family dinner. Went to another restaurant that knows how to operate and keep a reservation
Christmas dinner. Reservation at 7:00. Arrived 6:50. Seated at 7:50. Must have run out of the right size plates-the extremely bland food was piled in a heap. Never again.
Wasted money. They could not manage reservations. Long wait for table after we checked in. Long wait for waitor, then long wait again for the food then for the check. The food was cold and chewy. They forgot our desserts even after we reminded them several times.
We made reservations for Christmas Day. Walked into the restaurant lobby at 6 pm and it was packed with walk-ins. The staff maintained friendliness, attentiveness, and speed throughout the chaos of too many people waiting to be served. We were served on time. The meals were absolutely delicious, plentiful, fresh, and hot. We plan to go back on a "normal" day, but for that festive day, it was perfect!
We made Christmas dinner reservations for 5 many days in advance. We showed up at 6pm for our 6:15 reservation. There was no waiting space and place was maxed. So I went to hostes to check in and they said there are 5, 5 tabletops in front of me, this is now after our reservation time of 6:15. Ended up having to leavers 6:45 because our grandmother could not stand and needed a seat. BluWater Bistro ruined our Christmas dinner!
I get it was Christmas and busy BUT that is in no way shape or form the customers problem. BluWater Bistro did not manage their tables / reservations as a restaurant should and most normal places do. Open table is customizable, they should properly set up their account and learn how to better serve their customers.
I absolutely will be waiting for a call or email from management that includes and apology and some sort of gesture that will convince myself grandmother to step foot back to this location as a 90 + year Madison Park resident.
If I could give a negative rating I would, I’m debating on drafting an email to the general manager again emphasizing how they ruined our Christmas...
Went in on Christmas day, and they were crazy busy, and everything was perfect, food, service, everything.
Considering the crowd they had on Christmas, the staff did an amazing job! It was stressful for them but all were professional and smiling, doing their absolute best! Bart, you have an amazing team!
It was Christmas Day, still they managed the crowds. With the volume of food they had to put out they did an amazing job !
We always enjoy Bluwater Bistro - Leschi - we especially love their grilled King Salmon dinner - it is absolutely the BEST Salmon we have ever eaten - will return often for this. It's always the BEST! It is always a fun, upscale and friendly environment. Highly recommend it!
... would recommend, but only when less busy. On Christmas Day, we had barely started our salads, when our entree was squeezed on our tiny table. It was a one price pays for everything day, so I imagine they had plenty of meals prepared ahead, based on reservation counts. However, just the rapid food delivery made us feel a bit rushed, on a special dinner day.
The Christmas dinner was delicious the prime rib was perfect the ham was moist the sides were perfectly done and the starter salad was delicious
We were disappointed in a number of things based on our experience with the Leschi café over the years before it became BluWater bistro. There appeared to be very little maintenance and updating. The host was dressed very informally which takes some of the air out of the special occasion. We were rushed and the entrées arrive before we had the opportunity to finish our salads.A bus boy dropped a number of glasses on the floor near our table and picked up only the large pieces of glass and the rest of the mrss remained on the floor all evening.
I made a reservation and they seemed taken back that i came in asking for a table of 10... even though I had made the reservation. They kept saying they would have to check because there were so many Christmas parties. No joke. Only 4 other tables in the restaurant. We’ve come here and booked larger parties and had amazing service.
It was my birthday. They made it seem like a hassle. Didn’t get menus until we asked for them.
Sad cuz it usually pretty great.
The quality of the food and service were excellent. The chicken caprese sandwich was tasty and perfectly prepared.
The noise level was higher than usual as there were some office parties with noisy games.
We had a party of 14 which was originally only going to be 9 but the wait staff rolled with it seamlessly and had a wonderful experience! The food was good, the ambiance was perfect, and the service superb!
View is fantastic and so is the fish and chips
This is the neighborhood restaurant for us... and we always root for it to be really good. Sometimes it is. Sometimes it’s just so-so. This time, it was just so-so — the food, that is. The service is reliably good and cocktails are typically good. Maybe best as a neighborhood bar?
