I love this plaxe and rhe variety. And the seasonal risotto... fabulous.
Took my mom and sister here for Brunch and it was stellar. Fabby was my server and she was very knowledgeable of the brunch menu and dinner options since brunch was ending shortly after I walked in. She still accommodated me with brunch drinks but dinner entrees. The lobster mac was too die for. (A tad bit small but hey that's the new style of dinning now.)The shrimp and grits were so delicious I recommend them both to everyone. This is my new Harlem, NY find and I will definitely be back.
A colleague recommended the restaurant. I needed a new spot for a. Usiness meeting. Blujeen is on my neighborhood, so I decided to give it a try. I've been to most of the diner restaurants in Harlem., Vluejeen was a pleasant surprise. I can't wait to round up some friend and get back there!
We took my mother to Blujeen for brunch after church on Mother's Day. Despite the crowds coming in and out all afternoon, we were greeted warmly by the hostess and our server Fabiola was very attentive and friendly. She was fantastic! The food was delicious - exceeded our expectations! Look forward to returning again and again!
I've been to Blujeen several times and have usually enjoyed it. However this time I was somewhat disappointed. The noise level was extremely loud. The service was still very good although a little slow. I've had the corn chowder with lobster every time I've been there. It seemed a little thin and not as flavorful as in the past. The food when it came was not hot and the portions seemed smaller. The mimosa s were still very good. All in all it was a disappointing experience compared to my previous visits. I don't know if it was because it was the day
Excellent brunch. Great location. Very accommodating. Food was great. Will definitely go again.
Visiting my grandfather who lives in Harlem and looking for a great place to eat, we were sold on the menu. Grandfather had his fave, a hamburger, and said it was the best he'd had in years - high praise considering he's 91! My husband had the fried chicken and lobster mac. His only complaint was that his half chicken wasn't seasoned nearly as well as my wings. The lobster mac was good with generous lobster but it was served lukewarm. I had three apps: the chicken wings (delish), the Brussels (delish) and the shrimp & grits. The latter was tasty but also served lukewarm and needed a bit more seasoning. All three of us shared the okra which was good but again, we wish the cornmeal had a bit of seasoning to it. Overall we did like the place, the atmosphere was nice (the HH crowd can get a bit noisy) and the service friendly. I'd return again but would be sure to ask for salt and pepper at the table and request the dishes not sit before coming to our table.
Had a great experience the food was good and the drinks in point. Had such a great experience I went back the following Sunday and had an even better experience. I will def one again
This was my first time at Blujeen. It was a great setting for a family dinner and special occasion, the food was amazing!! I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to going back.
nice place with good ambiance. food is quite tasty.
This is my second time having dinner at Blujeen. I love the food (we ate too much!) and the staff is very friendly. Both occasions i was taking a friend for a birthday dinner and everyone was very pleased with the ambiance, the quality of the food, and the whole experience. The service is a bit slow but if you settle in and don't worry about that, it's all good. I would go again for sure.
The food was PERFECT! I would recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and family. We also left a perfect rating on Yelp.
This is my third time at Blujeen and I'm a big fan. After seeing Hamilton with friends we were looking forward to a great dinner. We didn't know that Sunday was brunch all day. After a 3 hour play we were in much need of dinner sized portions. The service was extremely slow and we had to ask repeatedly for our drinks. One was a lemonade for my eight month pregnant wife. I'm all in favor for a good time with friends, but there was a group of folks drinking and very loud next to us. It would have been cool if there was outside seating, but inside wasn't acceptable. It wasn't the experience I am used to and am leaning towards trying somewhere else to dine in Harlem.
Great food, great happy hour. Come and enjoy what it has to offer.
Our waitress was great! The place was very busy and they were a bit understaffed, but our waitress was attentive and courteous!!!
Amazing atmosphere and food. Very relaxed with great service. Would definitely recommend!
We had a bachelorette group and the restaurant accommodated us for our large, and boisterous party. We came late and had to rush out for our other activities but the staff were so pleasant and understanding. Blujeen is really an awesome place with great food, drinks and great staff!!! I highly recommend!
Went for brunch on Sunday with a group of friends. The unlimited drinks were great! They kept filling them. But it took a VERY long time for the food to come and the waitress wasn't very attentive. We had to keep asking others to get her. The food was okay...not bad, but not great. Overall, it was an okay experience. Wouldn't highly recommend but wouldn't be totally against going back one day.
We loved it. We arrived for brunch and were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The service was friendly and professional. The food was imaginative, delicious, and gorgeous. Can't wait to return for the pie in a jar.
Looking for a spot to eat after a movie, my friend and I stumbled upon this spot on the open table website. The menu sounded appetizing and I was able to make reservations on short notice. Glad we did. For appetizers we started out with the fried brussel sprouts and lump crab cake balls. Our entrees were braised short ribs with onion rings and crispy fried henny(1/2cornish hen). Our sides were collard greens, mac n cheese, caramel whipped sweet potatoes and butter milk biscuits washed down with some lemonade. Sounds like a lot of food but the servings were small. The food was delicious, so it was worth the trip. Can't wait to venture back there for some of the other popular dishes. Charlie our server made sure we had a wonderful dining experience. He was very helpful and attentive not hovering.
The place is very nice, along with great service. The food is very good but the portions are small. Definitely a place to go if your not very hungry, but looking for a small meal. With all that said I would definitely be back, the portions worked for how I eat, and it was good.
They accommodated us, from a table of 2 to 4. Excellent and friendly servers. Food was really good and was very good value as well. We will definitely go back again!
It's worth the time and effort to get o Harlem, from any of the other four boroughs.
It was a nice restaurant. Very noisy, which I am not a big fan of. You don't get a lot of food for the amount of money that you pay. The setup was nice, the bathrooms were clean, and our waiter was nice. The food was exceptional but not enough for what you pay. I may go back but I wasn't impressed enough to say "I can't wait to go back"/
I went for a birthday brunch. I was sold on the options of food and bottomless drinks. The food was very good, but the portions were small. I ordered Lobster Mac N Cheese and it was served in a small oval ramekin for $14. I also ordered the crab cake balls, which were $9 and you got 4. My plate sizes reminded me of tapas, so I was a little disappointed.
As for the drinks, listen, they tasted yummy going down but EVERYONE at my table of 7 was ill afterwards. My sister only had 1 1/2 drinks and she was very ill. I believe the wine/champagne must have been very cheap just because I am a brunch girl and I can handle mine, but I was sick for 2 days and everyone else was very ill, so I know it wasn't because I had gone overboard or something.
I would come back for the food, despite the portion size, everything was delicious!
Had a nice meal after movie. Our server said it was all day happy hour so we have six dollar glasses of wine which were great I ordered the shrimp and grits and a salad and it was definitely not from your. Unusual presentation had a bit of citrus in it it was very good. I had a side of corn bread it was just OK a little bit sweet sort of flat and dry but everything else on point. You finished with the mason jar dessert which was a little bit of everything, chocolate ice cream I think caramel and we devoured it.
Even though it is close by, we had not been in a few months. Nice to see the space had been rearranged, with some new & old menu items. Natasha was our server who was a pro. My wife & her heard each other's accents & chatted briefly about the U.K.
Great food for a reasonable price. Service from the bar to table is rather slow.
I took my friend for his birthday. We are both downtown guys, but it was quite ez to get there on the 2/3 train. We both grew up in or near the south, and are both fans of southern cooking. The food was really fantastic -- actually surprisingly so. We shared a bunch of appetizers instead of ordering main courses. What was great was that they were 'traditional' but modern, the flavors distinct but not overwhelming. A really lovely palette of tastes. I've eaten all over Europe and I found this food to be equal to some of the best I've tasted. Our waitress was totally lovely -- a young woman here from England to pursue dance. And the rest of the staff were equally welcoming. I'd go back in a flash.
Loved my meal.
Lobster mac was amazing.
Chicken wings with honey drizzle ...yummmy
Salmon .. perfectly cooked.
Bathroom nice and clean!
Going back very soon!!!
I've been to Blujeens before with my dad so I decided to introduce friend. Since it was Harlem Restaurant wk, I figured let's give it a try. Catfish was the main entreé which I don't appeal to either of us. We both decided on the shrimp w/grits(soupy), chicken wings(tasty but could had 1 more), okra&collard greens. For dessert we had the waffles(OK). I told the manager about the grits scenario&that the menu should be varied for certain events to draw&KEEP customers returning.
Everyone was great from the hostess who sat us, to our server (Fabi is SOOOO FAB!) - even down to the food runner who could give runway AND eyebrow lessons. The food was delicious and came out quickly. The drinks were refilled super quickly and dirty plates were whisked away within seconds of us finishing and the prices weren't bad at all. It's my new Go To Sunday brunch place when I'm in town.
I always love the food and the friendly staff when I visit Blujeen! The only downside is the wait for our unlimited brunch beverages to be refilled. Otherwise I have no complaints. Food is delicious and worth the money and the music/vibe is always chill!!! I still highly recommend a visit👍🏾
The team at Blujeen was very generous and accommodating to my large group, which is not always the case in the city. The food is delicious and the staff is pleasant and attentive. Highly recommend!
One of my favorite places for brunch. The food was very good (recommend the burger or mac and cheese)
Service and bottomless is very good. Very enjoyable.
This place was very disappointing. Me and 4 of my other friends came here for dinner Saturday night. We were all visiting Harlem, NY from out of town and were excited to support a local business before a fun night out.
The service was horrible, our waitress didn't come introduce herself to us until an hour into being seated. The restaurant had a good amount of guests in attendance but it was nowhere near packed so we couldn't understand what took her so long to come and serve us. Since we had no server, we kept on having to flag random restaurant workers down to get someone to help us and finally the manager came and took our drink and food orders about 30 minutes into being seated.
The most disgusting part about our experience was that I found a long blond hair in the first bite of my cornbread, gross! We didn't make a scene hoping that management would handle the situation in a sufficient way but we didn't even get an apology. We were offered a new batch but we politely declined.
At that point we didn't want to leave because we had already wasted so much time there and our food orders were already in so we were hoping that our entrees would be better. Three of us ordered the shrimp & grits and they were very runny and had an overpowering lemon flavor. Someone else ordered the Lobster Mac which was a huge disappointment. It was runny and very bland in flavor. The 5th person ordered the salmon which was also overpowered with a lemon flavor.
I also ordered the lemon peppered chicken wings which were delicious, but of course, as I reached for the last piece, what did I see ... Another hair in my food!
We didn't even bother telling management at this point because of how bad they handled the first hair situation. We left hungry and frustrated. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant before. We were just a group of girls looking to have a good time while supporting a local business but they made our experience so horrible.
It started off rocky. I made a reservation and was not seated despite the restaurant being empty. The hostess forgot about my party and seated two other groups before me. However once we were seated our experience greatly improved. Our waitress was very thorough and nice. Our food came out in good time and was delicious. Overall it was a good experience
The shrimp and grits are super light/soupy and will leave you hungry. I ended up ordering more off the menu than I planned. However, the sweet potatoe pancakes are ah-mazing! The fried chicken was delicious. The ulimitted mimosa price was beyond reasonable but the waiter was too preoccupied to make the mimosas truly unlimitted, which worked out in the long run because the mimosas were strong.
All in all, my girlfrends and I had a great time!
Great food! The service was pretty slow, but our waitress was super nice. Hostess was a little standoffish while waiting to be seated.
Great food. Great service. Not a lot of food for the prices.
