With one of the most picturesque dining settings in Coronado, the Boathouse is situated on the water, where you can enjoy the romantic views of Glorietta Bay. The iconic cupola-adorned landmark was built in 1887 as a design prototype for the Hotel del Coronado located across the street.

Bluewater Boathouse may be reached by water taxi, the Coronado Bay bridge or via the Silver Strand. The upstairs lounge host Happy Hour, Sunday through Thursday from 3:00pm till 6:00pm and dinner service Friday and Saturday at 4:00pm. Banquet rooms are available for day or evening rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, corporate events and military functions. Wonderful experience, delicious food with amazing flavors, good quantity and value. Service was friendly, smily, knowledgeable and professional. We brought our own bottles, no cork fee for first 2 bottles, $15 on third which is reasonable. Great place, will definitely be back.

My friend and I dined at Bluewater Boathouse 5/26/23. I had the calamari steak, and she had the rockfish and artichoke. The calamari was tender and cooked to perfection, and my friend said she enjoyed her rockfish very much! The service was outstanding. I believe an evening out for dinner with exceptional food and service is priceless! I highly recommend making a reservation and checking out this restaurant!

I made reservation for my wife’s birthday at 5:15 and we were running late so I changed it to 5:30 with no problem.. Staff, with a smile, escorted us to our table. Our waiter (Thomas) was very courteous and explained to us different choices and recommendation. Food was good and Thomas was very helpful and polite. This place will be one of our favorite restaurant.. We already recommended this place to our friends..

Overall the food was amazing. The service could use some work. The server we had showed up maby three times to the table, we had to ask someone else for silvewhere and where our dinks were since we already had our food and kind of needed silvewhere to eat and wanted our dinks with dinner. Food was great as always, 100% recomend for the food and the view, just not that server.

We visit the Bluewater Boathouse about every two months. The food is always very well done. I typically order the swordfish -- one of the best blackened preparations I've had anywhere -- that comes with dirty rice and a lovely relish. My spouse varies her order; she had the Louie Salad last night. It's really really good. For this visit, our only disappointment was....no sourdough bread. I know, I know. That's trivial, right? Well, this isn't your typical restaurant bread...it is really awesome. We look forward to it as part of our meal here. So imagine our sad faces when they brought out "dollar rolls" from the grocery store. We'll forgive you, Bluewater Boathouse...but when bread is a signature item, it shouldn't be subbed out.

The experience was not that good. We we’re there in 2022 and all was excellent and returned, this time with guests. Service was fine, though not as good as last time. As for the food, it was OK, at best. I had a good piece of fish, but the potatoes and spinach it was served over were only warm. One of our guests had the Jambalaya and his first bite of chicken was raw, pretty inexcusable in these days of digital thermometer use. It was returned to the kitchen and another was brought in its place. This one was fine, and noted that there was no chicken in the dish this time. I would have thought that a manager would have delivered the new dish, but it was only the food runner. Our server was very apologetic, but this error needed manager involvement. This guest finished many minutes after the rest of us, again, not an ideal situation. Nothing was offered, nor really expected, except for our 3 cups of coffee, which were not at all hot. Our server did make a fresh pot for our next cups and they were piping hot, as the first cups should have been. Overall a disappointing experience for the $300+, with tip, price tag. Will choose another restaurant next time in Coronado visiting my daughter and son-in-law. Afeter our initial experience, this one was extremely disappointing.

The two courses (grilled octopus and Cajun halibut) were both above average. Both wines were well paired although the Bordeaux wasn’t my type. Chocolate cheesecake was a bit dry. Great service. I left without earning rewards points because the system was down. This isn’t the first time that happened and it is inexcusable that the only solution they offered was to “bring the receipt back next time).

They used to serve pretty delicious seafood but our experience yesterday was awful. While service was on point the food was terrible. Lobster was like rubber as well the octopus which was also burnt on top of being extremely chewy.

Location was nice and lots of parking right on the water. The waitress was not very successful and brought the wrong dish back after giving it to us cold. Very overpriced for low level cuisine.

Not what we were expecting, expected more for the price. Crab and artichoke dip had very little to no crab. Caipino tasted like it was frozen and reheated. Very little shellfish and fish was over cooked. Crostini was burnt to the point it was uneditable. Had to request ice tea to be refilled. Halibut was over cooked and dry. Dinned here before for lunch this was the first time for dinner.

We have been going to this location and all Bluewater Grills for years. They have started to really go down hill and this was the worse experience in a long time. Service didn’t seem to care and tried to over charge us on our bill (she even admitted it). Food lacked flavor and didn’t seem fresh. I had better seafood the previous night at a local restaurant. Restaurant also needs attention as the repairs and maintenance seem to be lacking as well. I would not recommend this place to anyone until it gets cleaned up and better service and food.

Both my husband and I thought Caesar salad had zero flavor. I got the Gemali pasta in pesto sauce with shrimp and scallops. Sauce liquidy- not thick. Scallops were tiny, but the shrimp was good. The asparagus was tiny pieces cut up in the pasta and no florettes attached. My husband loved his trout almond IR with Scallop potatoes and asparagus spears, but said it was very rich and therefore fattening. The portions are good size. Our friends got he fish and chips which he loved, and she loved her Sandabs. The warm sourdough bread was excellent!!

One of the worst dining experiences we've had in a long time. We both order fish dishes (snapper & mahi mahi). We both immediately knew our fish wasn't fresh, it tasted either like it was either previously frozen or that it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. The fried sides were also very greasy. My body got rid of everything I ate there later that night. The only redeeming quality here is the service. Though very busy and only a few servers, we were surprising seated rather quickly and served in a decent amount of time. Lots of large groups make it very loud inside. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant and we would never go back.

Everything we had was delicious. The bread is fabulous. The sangria was quite tasty but a little less fruity than we prefer. The appetizer mussels just melt in your mouth. The blackened swordfish was wonderful although if you don't like spicy food you may want to choose another entree. The rockfish was also terrific with the side of artichoke hearts, breaded I think, a special treat. I am running out of adjectives so the mud pie will have to stand on its own. Try for outdoor seating if possible as the gorgeous view only enhances what, on its own, is still a totally satisfying experience.

Our first time here and it was outstanding. The food and drinks were amazing and all staff were very nice and courteous. We left absolutely stuffed on all of the delicious food. Thank you for such a wonderful dinner!
