Bluestone Ratings and Reviews
Our female server was very helpful and efficient. The short ribs were excellent and the oyster stew very tasty with huge oysters, which was a surprise! We come often and have never had a bad experience. We were surprised how quickly our order was taken and food arrived given the crowd.
Six of us ate at Bluestone on a Sunday evening not realizing they have a special menu in addition to their regular one. It's a Baltimore County Restaurant Week format that can't be beat either for the selections available or the value. For only $35, I had the steak and cake - a 5 ounce filet along with a 5 ounce crab cake which were both delicious. On the regular menu this alone would cost $35 but on the special menu I also got an appetizer (great MD crab soup) and a dessert - an amazing value. Everyone made a selection from the special menu - one selected the short ribs, 2 had the salmon, 1 had crab cakes and 1 had the rockfish and everyone raved about their meals. Mike, our server, was both professional yet very personable which added a lot to our enjoyable dining experience.
First time at Blue Stone celebrating first time grandparent hood. (Parents of the new Mommy and parents of the new Daddy). Lovely dining experience but very loud. Will request a quieter section. Food was rated excellent by all as was the wine. Would definitely return.
Server was great. Paul was our server. He was attentive and explained any specials of the evening. What I assumed was the manager, came by to ask how everything was.
Ordered prime rib which was prepared as we had ordered....hats off to chef(s). Like the fact that the menu is changed up.
Drinks were tasty.
Greeters were friendly.
Keep up good work and good food.
Best food and service we've had in a long time. Both of us ordered something new that we had not yet tried and both entrees were exceptional. I ordered the Ocean and Gulf seafood platter, which was not your typical broiled seafood platter soaking in butter, but seasoned to perfection. She ordered the Rockfish which she said was amazing. For appetizers, we shared the Cream of Crab and the Mushroom/Shrimp. Both were exceptional. Tori, our server, was busy and attentive, always there when we needed her with a friendly smile and quick service.
Very loud party going on in the room next to us. We couldn't hear ourselves talk. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed by her table load and took a long time when checking on us. Also, went to us Open Table reward and they had to be told to take that off first, before the rest of the bill.
I've been to Bluestone before and the experience was excellent. This time I was somewhat disappointed with the service and the parking is terrible. Mixed reviews on the food. The Tuna was outstanding, but the rockfish was bland. Would think twice before going back.
We usually have a good experience at blue stone but this time it was awful .
The wine was sub standard and the fish tasted of gasoline !!!
I could not eat it . I had my husband taste it and he said it had an overpowering taste of gasoline .
Not sure if I will go back
Bluestone was one of our go-to restaurants from when it opened until we moved to GA in 2014. This occasion was to meet up with old friernds who came into town to visit us while we were there for a short time. Both of our friends have garlic allergies and this was expressed to the server. We asked her to check with the chef to see if certain dishes had garlic in them. At least once she returned to our table and had forgotten to check this out. The salmon which the two women split was dry and pretty tasteless. Because we sat and visited with our friends and, therefore, kept the table longer than we normally would have we would have left a larger tip but because of the above issues only left a normal tip. Hopefully, the next time we dine at Bluestone we will be able to give them 5 stars again.
It has been awhile since our last visit and it seemed to us that the appetizers were not at the expected level. The Fried Green tomatoes were too firm and the Cream of Crab soup was too floury and needed more Sherry. Otherwise, the entree's were good and the Service was very good.
I recommended to our friends that we dine at Bluestone, even though they wanted a closer spot in Hunt Valley, and I was so disappointed. We had a 6:30 open table reservation on a Tuesday night and asked for a booth. We waited at least 20 mins and a booth was never even mentioned. We thought about getting a bottle of wine but everyone wanted something different, so we gave up on that idea, so I had to choose from the by the glass list. Your wine by the glass needs to be updated. You didn't have a single Rose or white blend. Same old, same old. Two folks in our party had a salmon dinner and were very happy. One gentleman had a salad with a beef filet and had to send it back as it was rare. He ordered medium. I ordered the corvina fish dinner and it was terrible. It wasn't anything like what I expected. A dark brown thick mushroom sauce was on top of it...like a gravy....not something you would expect on fish. The chili oil that was mentioned in the description was not evident anywhere?? Yucky dish. Disappointing night.
Overall wonderful experience. Bartender gave happy hour pricing up to the last minute. Waitress, Joyce, was great. Food was very tasty and good value. Only criticism was parking was a challenge. It would be nice if valet parking was offered. Looking forward to my next visit.
Impressed with the high level of service by front desk, wait staff and manager. We were a bit late due to a traffic light malfunction, and he did everything he could to seat us as quickly as possible on an unexpected ly busy Tuesday evening. Later on he checked on our table to make sure that every was to our liking.
