Blues City Cafe Ratings and Reviews
The "special" was a strip steak. The steak I received was not a strip, was pre sliced, had a lot of gristle...just poor quality . The appetizer was initially overlooked, but was good when it did arrive. The dessert service was very late (I15+min.) after the main was cleared. The staff did their best but were undermanned. There is no excuse for offering the inferior steak that was served. This place was once known for their steaks. I would have appreciated it more if I'd been told that the meat served would be a substitute, so I could decide to try it or not. This may satisfy our tourists, but I have too many better places to go and will do so.
The music was great. The food was just ok. But serving the wine in cheap plastic water glasses like you see in motel 6 is totally unacceptable. That was a deal breaker and we won't be back. It was so embarrassing to have brought a friend and business associate with us. Very disappointing!
It was great. I had ribs and a cup of seafood gumbo based on user reviews and was not disappointed. My wife had chicken tenders and they, well were chicken tenders but nothing special which is why I gave 4 stars on food. That in no way should take away from their specialties. The place had a great diverse ethnicity mix does not allow smoking and kids can go. The nightly music was Earl the Pearl who played and sang the blues. It was a great all round experience.
We had an amazing meal at the Blues City Cafe! My mom and I were able to split a half rack of ribs and fried catfish plate. We were not disappointed. The fish was perfectly done and the BBQ ribs were stripped clean by the end of our meal. This place can get very crowded so plan ahead!
was seated actually before reservation time. food was very good but was disappointed that the only choice for bar-b-q was ribs. the ribs were good and fell off the bone but i would still like to have gotten some pork and mutton. food was good and portions were plentiful. our waitress left some room for improvement as she forgot about us or lost us for periods of time. place was very busy but did not have to wait very long on food.
Our first visit to the blues City Cafe was very good. My wife had the cat fish and I had a half rack of ribs which were superb! Server was rushed off his feet but very friendly and efficient.
The only gripe we might have is that we seated near the prep and cooking area which made it hot and noisy.
My ribs were just ok. I was expect ion more flavor. The gumbo us good My husbands dinner the seafood Au gratin was very good he enjoyed it completely. Service was prompt and efficient pricing was reasonable. It was a fun place to people watch and listen to great music.
