Delicious. Prices and quantity were of value.
The ribs are amazing!! Meaty and great BBQ flavor. I don't like my ribs with too much sauce so these were perfect however, I'm sure if you like them "saucy", you can request more BBQ sauce.
Amazing! The bartender was also our waiter, server and took our bill and the place was busy! He suggested how we should order and what to order and we loved our food.
Don't know why they offer reservations since they take first come, first served (depending on the size of your group).
We weren't cramped, but the sun shown directly in the face of one of us as it set...no effort to shade it.
Generally clean, but the hubcaps used as lampshades overhead were filthy.
Only one gentleman to serve our section; he did ok, but rarely checked on us which meant we had to flag him down a couple times for butter, water, etc. Food arrived in a reasonable time.
Enjoyed the meal with the Beale Street music/festivities right outside before walking the short distance to the Orpheum Theater. BBQ ribs and the shrimp were very good, and the sirloin steak was great!
They validate parking, supposedly where there is an attendant. However, which parking places those may be is a mystery. It's certainly not the Central Parking garage right next door (which had an attendant).
The band was awesome
We went there the first time to hear some blues and found the acoustics pretty good for a restaurant/bar/ with live music and no cover! What we found was awesome music and great fair priced food and drinks. Went there 3 times in one week because if it ain't broke don't fix it! Never were disappointed all the music was different but excellent
The ribs were very tender, but not smokey like I like them. My husband had the shrimp and they were very good. It's a fun atmosphere right on Biehl Street in Memphis.
We reserved for 6 but more showed. No problem, more chairs. Very friendly service and food was great.
This place was hopping but then again there were 25,000 ISU fans in town for the liberty bowl. We were seated promptly, had great service and excellent food.
In town for St Jude marathon. From the moment we walked in, I knew we had made a great choice. Best ribs that I’ve ever had, wonderful catfish fillet, and honestly the best baked beans I have ever had! Our waiter, Matt, was awesome. All around, a great experience.
Great food. Great service. Great entertainment. The Brad Birkedahl Band was amazing!!
The "special" was a strip steak. The steak I received was not a strip, was pre sliced, had a lot of gristle...just poor quality . The appetizer was initially overlooked, but was good when it did arrive. The dessert service was very late (I15+min.) after the main was cleared. The staff did their best but were undermanned. There is no excuse for offering the inferior steak that was served. This place was once known for their steaks. I would have appreciated it more if I'd been told that the meat served would be a substitute, so I could decide to try it or not. This may satisfy our tourists, but I have too many better places to go and will do so.
The music was great. The food was just ok. But serving the wine in cheap plastic water glasses like you see in motel 6 is totally unacceptable. That was a deal breaker and we won't be back. It was so embarrassing to have brought a friend and business associate with us. Very disappointing!
Surprised no music in a Beale Street joint. Great BBQ
The place is the best to listen the real american music. Good food and drinks, the best Memphis players. I'll be back, for sure !
Terrible treatment. I had a reservation in the saloon with live music, and they said I couldn't´t be accommodated because they had a group of 40. Not my problem. Then, why did I make a reservation? It´s nonsense. Never more!!!
Food was Amazing!!!! Loved everything and we'll definitely visit again!
Food is fantastic. Live music in the secondary room. We were there for Elvis Week and sat under the pink Cadillac w Elvis pix everywhere.
It was great. I had ribs and a cup of seafood gumbo based on user reviews and was not disappointed. My wife had chicken tenders and they, well were chicken tenders but nothing special which is why I gave 4 stars on food. That in no way should take away from their specialties. The place had a great diverse ethnicity mix does not allow smoking and kids can go. The nightly music was Earl the Pearl who played and sang the blues. It was a great all round experience.
This was a great place. Truly enjoyed the band. The food was awesome. Our waitress London was the best. A fabulous evening in Memphis!
The. Best. Ribs in Memphis: hands down! Get the special that has ribs, catfish, cole slaw...the works. We now try to go every year just for the food and we live in Kentucky! The band that played was awesome too.
Met out-of-town friends for a "Memphis Meal" before a Redbirds game...their first exposure to Memphis ribs. Was a good meal and perfect location for a pre-game bite. Portions were huge, food was hot and tasty, beer was cold and service was great!
We loved Blues city cafe! We were there 3xs in 3 nights. We actually left our reservation across the street our last night after appetizers so that we could catch our gumbo and pecan pie and music again. We found our happy place!!!
Great food, great music, great local beers!! What more could you want? Favorite place to eat when we are in Memphis.
Great place to eat on Beale, then just walk through the inside passage to teh room with all the blues music...great!
What a wonderful experience! Keith the bartender was outgoing and fun, exceptional service! We enjoyed the seafood au gratin as an appetizer and full rack of ribs for the entree, OUTSTANDING! Live music was very nice!
We ordered tamales, stuffed mushrooms, shrimp skillets, and dessert. Everything was delicious. I'm already looking forward to my next trip. Very convenient to the Orpheum. The food came quickly and we didn't have any trouble getting to the show on time
We had an amazing meal at the Blues City Cafe! My mom and I were able to split a half rack of ribs and fried catfish plate. We were not disappointed. The fish was perfectly done and the BBQ ribs were stripped clean by the end of our meal. This place can get very crowded so plan ahead!
Staff was exceptionally friendly, food was delicious (the apple dumpling was oh so good), music entertaining and enjoyed for a few minutes after we finished our dinner. Reasonably priced - will visit again next time I'm in Memphis.
In the heart of what's happening, an overall delicious, fun & entertaining time!
Just real good food, period. Tamales, catfish and fall off the bone ribs as good as you will find.
Classic Memphis experience. Steaks are terrific especially their natural sauce.
Great place. Food was soooo yummy. Awesome options of local beers too. Waiter was so busy so he comp'ed us a free beer. They clearly know how to treat customers. Plus the live music and location were the cherry on the cake. Plan to visit again!
Food was amazing. Ribs so tender and falling off bone. Sauce Delish! Sides tasty and service fast and friendly!
We booked a food tasting tour and Blues City Cafe was one of our stops. We had the tamales and chili. Both were very good. Will be coming back on a future trip.
I reserved for lunch, but went for dinner. Disappointed that the wine and beer were in plastic cups. Kind of downer, but the food was really good.
Our reservation wasn't much of one, as we still had to wait 15 minutes after arrival for our table to prepared. Good ribs though.
The ribs were excellent. Accompanied by very good slaw and baked beans.
The music was exactly what we were looking for. Earl The Pearl- 80+ years old and still singing the blues.....
Really great steaks and ribs. Large portions. The Blues band playing was terrific too.
Great tender ribs and the turnip greens were some of the best I've ever had. We ordered the apple dumpling with ice cream and it arrived in a little hot skillet. It was so good.
