Bluebird Barbecue Ratings and Reviews
We were quite disappointed with out server from the minute we sat down. We were not offered the specials which is why we didn't know that on that Tuesday they were offering Ramen, which by the way looked amazing and we probably would have ordered it.
We ran out of water at our table before our food was served and were never offered a refill until we were halfway through our meal. The ribs were cold on one of the meals but by the time our server came back to check on us the food had mostly been eaten and our patience had waned.
The food was amazing, as it always is here. We will be back but hope for better service in the future.
The food was great! I came here with my family on a Friday night (3 of us total). We did a couple appetizers (onion rings and cheddar ale dip) and the dinner for two (3 smoked meats and 4 sides). The pulled pork was delicious. Margaritas were okay. Server wasn't that great but the bbq was so good I didn't mind as much.
I came with a group of friends hoping to enjoy some good BBQ and good company-I was very disappointed with my ribs-they were way over cooked, dry and had very little meat. They had good flavor but too dry. My friends had the beef rib which looked much better. I have been here before and enjoyed my food. The service is very slow but friendly. 15 minutes to get my drink is a little much..For what I paid it was overpriced and simply not worth it. I will try again maybe in a long awhile..I cant afford a hit or miss dining experience when it cost so much. I would recommend people to try it..just order cafefully.
This was our first time at the restaurant. We had been at another event that ended early and showed up an hour ahead of our reservation. They were very accommodating and got us in anyway ( without any attitude). Food was amazing and service was great. Definitely will be returning with the rest of our family.
Great time, great food. The one damper was our server asking us 7 times (I starting counting after 3) if we were finished our meal...we were grazing and felt like we were being rushed. It didn't ruin our night, just influenced their tip, unfortunately for them.
I was with a friend I hardly ever see, so we took our time (we were only there 6:50-8:30pm).
Will definitely be back for the fantastic food.
Visited for Ribfest, the ribs were absolutely fantastic. Wild Boar and Beef ribs were delicious! The service was great as always. Impressive beer list, but disappointed the Citizen Cider Unified Press was the only hard cider option available since I can't drink beer.
Upon arrival, our table was not ready so rather than an indeterminate wait, we were seated in an ambiance-free back room at a high top table, not cozy.
The BBQ here is delicious but a bit pricey for the quantity. We paid $23-25 for a half rack of ribs, which seemed high considering there was not much meat on them. I've paid the same for a full rack of extraordinarily juicy ribs down in Nyc. However, the maple glaze and dry rub are delicious and the ribs were cooked well. Good sides, though my salad was a bit ordinary. Great mashed sweet potatoes. Disappointed that cornbread and biscuits warrant an extra charge.
Will go back in hopes of a better table sometime, but not in a rush.
We have wanted to try your restaurant for a long time, but each time we tried you had a full house. Well I love fish and it was my birthday, but I decided to try one more time and you had an opening! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great and all the wait staff was friendly and efficient. We have already recommended your place to people an d we look forward to going back.
One question - my husband wanted a drink with flavored vodka. Our waiter told us you aren't allowed to serve flavored vodkas. Is this true??? Why??? We found it odd, but my husband was very happy with the beer he had instead.
Thank you for a wonderful dinner experience!
The free half rack of ribs were the best and the 15 hour brisket melted in our mouths. Highly recommend adding the pulled pork when ordering the poutine; the gravy of which was delicious without being salty. Service was prompt, helpful and cheerful. This was our third visit in six months and we are never disappointed.
Took a big crew from out of town - everyone really enjoyed what they ordered from drinks to dinner. The only very slight disappointment is that the mac & cheese recipe seems to have changed :(
Besides that one side, food was very good, service was excellent - friendly & attentive, and beer & cocktail menu impressive as always
Any time friends or family are in town I go here. This is also my go to for grabbing a beer or specialty cocktail with an appetizer. They also have some options to mix and match the menu by selling sides separately, the option to buy one sausage, get a taste of meat (small portion), and their wings appetizer is amazing. All dinners are phenomenal and there's even a vegetarian option. Great news at a BBQ joint.
The part I gave not even touched on yet is that this is the best service staff I have come across in one place. They are all super attentive and genuine. The bartenders and bar manager do an excellent job with recommending items per your taste buds. This lead to me finding my favorite beer.
My only recommendation is having the sweet Italian sausage and jack cheese sausage more often - they are out of this world.
Best BBQ north of the Mason-Dixon. Simply great BBQ ribs, pulled pork, chicken and very good sides, with amazing beer list. A must do if in the Burlington area. Bonus - one of the few places that takes reservations. Only downside is tiny parking lot.
Details: We always get the meal for two @ $40. You get three meats (1/2 size but you could have fooled me) and four sides. The baby back ribs have a thick glaze and a deep smoke ring, not an ounce of fat. I like the ends which was extra heavy on the glaze - yum. The pulled pork is good close to what'd you'd get in North Carolina. They use a mustard sauce on the pork. The Chicken has a crispy skin that I'm sure is healthy since the fat has been rendered off it and the meat is tender and very moist. The Alabama white sauce should be bottled so you can take it home.
The sides are all good, even a mixed greens if you have to eat something that technically is good for you.
The tap list is killer, close to but smaller in number than the Farm House. Always a couple of Hill Farmsteads and Heady in cans. They do have a very good non-New England beer list for the locals who want something beyond the VT beers.
