The customer service and ambience was awesome!! Food, ok.
Best dining in Smithville area, if you are only thinking of the food and service. But then add in the view of the sunset over Center Hill Lake, and it is really awesome!
You have to do Bill's Famous Fish Boil!!
I have eaten lunch and breakfast at Blue Water several times, and it has always been fabulous! The pork tenderloin breakfast sandwich is amazing, as are the Blackened Grouper Sandwich, the burger, and the nachos for lunch. I went there for dinner for the first time this past week and ended up there twice! The Coconut Encrusted Grouper was exceptional - huge serving - thought I would never eat it all, but I did! It was so tasty! Even the house salad with ranch dressing was delightful. One of my friends who is from New Orleans had the Shrimp Boil and she raved about it! The service is great. The trip down on the golf cart makes for a unique experience if you have somebody with you who can't make the walk down the hill and to the end of the dock. The servers are friendly and personable. It's just always a fun experience along with really good food!
My Wife & I stayed at a VRBO cabin on Center Hill Lake, for our 20 yr Anniversary. We came to Blue Water Grill for diner on a Saturday at about 5pm and though we had a reservation, there was seating available. Since the restaurant is out on the marina, the lot is a bit of a walk. Blue Water provides their patrons a complimentary golf cart shuttle, which only adds to the overall experience. First & foremost Center Hill Lake is gorgeous & Blue Water is at the tip of the marina, proving incredible views. I thought every thing we had was very good, albeit a bit pricey. Considering you are really here for the atmosphere, It was on point. Come on by. Unless your expectations are unreasonably high, you'll be quite happy you did.
Grouper was spot on! Basic southern sides were not up to the level of the fish though...
Appreciated one of the daily specials--grilled Salmon. I love that Chef Steph offers so many specials (in addition to the great menu items), depending on what is seasonal, fresh, and available. I love the uniqueness of the Blue Water Grille and will find it difficult to have to eat at a chain after having a summer of such great foods at the lake!
We all loved the side-dish special of stuffed baby Bellas--best stuffed mushrooms we have ever eaten! Everything is always cooked and presented perfectly. Chef Steph's creations are fresh and delicious. We love the Blue Water Grille.
The staff doesn't turn over much at Blue Water Grille, as if it is a positive place to be. The servers seem invested in providing good service and seem to love their work (it shows!). Each time we go, we are served like VIPs with quick seating, lovely views, and great care (perhaps they make everyone feel this way). Chef Stephanie often comes out to see what her patrons are liking the best. She listens! Also, Chef Steph buys great food (love her specials) and strives to make each dish excellent. We notice and appreciate her gourmet seasonings, sauces, and drizzles. Love her homemade key lime pie for dessert! We always have a good experience at the Blue Water Grille and can highly recommend.
This was the only restaurant on Open Table within a 50 mile radius of my mother's home where I could make a reservations - should have gone with the standard chain restaurants in the area.
Images & menu misleading - while food was good, it in no way warranted the sky high prices and the atmosphere even less so. This is a captured audience situation where people who own boats go to eat in their swimsuits so they don't have to drive for 40 minutes to eat somewhere else. Extremely disappointed.
