Everything we had was delicious, sushi, black sea bass, broccoli, cauliflower, banana tower, cheesecake. Would highly recommend
This is my third or fourth trip to this eatery, and this time I was very disappointed. We found the Sunday brunch menu very limited. Additionally, when one of my friends ordered an omelette and asked for whole wheat or grain toast, we were told there was only white bread. In this day and age, when so many of us are trying to eat healthier, that is surprising. After finally getting white bread, we had to ask for butter and some sort of jam. I remember eating a delicious grain bowl with eggs last summer that I asked about but was told you didn't have that on the menu anymore. You might consider bringing that item back. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
This place is such a joke. $150 dinner for nothing, comparable to McDonald's quality or maybe to a suburb Chinese shop. Everything tastes very bad, oudated, the customers are from the other states fooled for the location. I am sure with all these tourists fooled thinking they have been to a great restaurant, they wouldn't bother to upgrade anything. They really need to update the menu at least, they have sushi, pasta and fish and some spanish?? Not sure what type of food they really try to sell there. The ambiance is from 80s and boring, do not take a girl from NYC for a date here.
Our second time dining here and this one was a quick Sunday afternoon nosh.

The location is beautiful and the server was very nice. But the food was horrible. The lobster roll contains barely a teaspoon of lobster, the sushi was warm and the Cesar salad was flavorless.
Ambiance and service was excellent. The food was good - our appetizer and dessert were delicious. We go this baked fish special for 2 for our main course and found it to be a littllllllle too salty, but it was good enough and we didn’t send it back. Would return, but would order a different entree next time.
The evening was excellent all around. From checking in to having a last drink at the bar. Our table was superb , right by the doors looking out onto 16th st. The service was tremendous. Our server could not have better. From wine recommendation to answering questions about the menu. As well as personable and accommodating . The food. Out of this world. Heirbloom beets as an appetizer. The dish was incredible. To go along with the blackened swordfish I ordered. With the carrot cake dessert. Heavenly. Stopping at the bar after dinner was a treat also. Bartender on the money. She was Friendly. Talkative. Fun. And a good pour. To top it all off. There was a celebrity siting. Alec Baldwin came in late for dinner. I'll be back.

Regular biz meal place BUT expensive even for NYC.
Both our waiter and the servers were attentive but not intrusive. Food was excellent. Great space.
An excellent visit especially if you like fish and shellfish. For lunch, we had cocktails to start (creative, strong, large) and a sharing seafood platter which was absolutely excellent - much better than we'd expected. Simply grilled Halibut and charred scallops with seasonal veg followed with an excellent russian river chardonnay and we were basically in heaven. Staff were knowledgeable without intrusion. Only reason for 4 stars was the state of the Gents toilets which were disgusting. We reported it and it wasn't actioned for over an hour. Otherwise, an excellent choice for a lovely lunch.

Service is very slow, from the bar to the food. Menu trying too hard to be trendy, sometimes less is more. Most ended up with burgers due to too many exotic ingredients.
I have always been a Blue water grill fan.But service was not as good as usual, and our entrees were not what we would have expected. Appetizers were delicious.
For details, Our bread was forgotten and I didn’t get soy sauce for about 15 minutes for my sushi. The pasta with clams just wasn’t what we expected. The mini lobster rolls however rocked!

Have always enjoyed this place, mostly for drinks, service is first-rate, restaurant is attractive, the seafood cobb salad was almost entirely flavorless. Major disappointment.

The waiter was sarcastic and rude and annoyed when we pointed to the many service inadequacies. A staff member bussing the table started picking up dishes while one of us was still eating, a clear indication that management is not training the staff. When Steve Hanson owned BRGuest restaurants it was run liked a well oiled machine with waitstaff who behaved as if they had pride in their work, not any more. One of the reasons we always loved Blue Water Grill was that the food was sublime, well priced and fresh and service was impeccable and discreet. No bread was brought to our table until we requested it and our waiter threw a hissy fit because we asked a colleague for bread and pointed to the fact that other tables were brought bread immediately, we didn’t receive it until requested and after salads. He then came over to us and said “you upset my colleague, perhaps we should switch out waiters! “ He became more and more aggressive. No one trained him either in Waitering 101.when I asked for his opinion about two dishes on the menu, his response was “whichever dish is more expensive.# His attempt at humor?Not appreciated. We spoke to management who said they were sorry but at the same time offered nothing ( a dessert, an after dinner drink etc, ) in compensation for the offensive and lax service. The food too has slipped in quality, my appetizer, the beet salad was skimpy and looked as if it had been standing out for quite a while, my halibut was mediocre, visually uninteresting.
I am afraid it was not special. I ordered grilled swordfish. It was dry and tasteless. Granted I ordered the simple menu, but I think it should still be well-prepared. My son did like his dinner though quite a bit. so perhaps I just ordered poorly.
Blue Water Grill is one of my favorite restaurants because of its location, service and quality of the food. But it is way too noisy and crowded for easy conversation.

Had brunch w family. Place was not busy. Service was inattentive. Ordered a side order of bacon and received ham. Ordered trio of sorbets for dessert and had to inquire when we would receive the trio since we had our coffees for 10 mins. It was difficult to find our server and we each had to be on the lookout for him to get his attention. The food wasn’t so outstanding that we could overlook the lack of service. Disappointing.
This was a lovely brunch with my sister who is visiting from Australia. The staff is charming, the food fabulous and it is very reasonable in price. We both loved it. Elegant decor and such fresh food
HORRIBLE, STAY AWAY!! Uncooked eggs in my omelet and the chef's answer was he likes the eggs to be loose! No offer to make it right. Salad on the side was inedible. The dressing was all vinegar. Also no offer to make it right and nothing off the check for the meal I sent back!! My husbands seafood cobb salad was equally bad but he's not the complainer in the family. Restaurant was mostly empty for a Saturday brunch. Did I mention to STAY AWAY!!
We enjoy the ambiance of BWG, it's nice and upscale for a change of venue. Food is excellent, beautifully plated and very well serviced. Almost surprisingly the brunch biscuits were so incredible they almost outshined the food itself. The small bread and butter block was a treat. Desserts excellent. To be truthful, we spend more at BWG than a usual brunch but it felt that that was life is "supposed" to be about.
I've been to Blue Water a number of times. The food has always been good to excellent - a bit pricey but decent value. The service during my most recent visit was deplorable. Our waiter insisted on giving us the full 10-minute dog and pony show listing the ingredients of every special item and making a transparent effort to goad us into trying more and more food. I know what I want, read me the specials, and be on your way. I don't want to be entertained. However, my major complaint was that our appetizers had not arrived after 30 minutes, long after the couple to our right, seated after us, had already received their appetizers and entrees. My dinner guest was doing a slow burn. After I finally caught our waiter's attention, he came back a few minutes later to apologize and report that he had "screamed" at the kitchen. We weren't really interested in his communications with the kitchen staff. He should have noticed we had not been served within a reasonable time (why didn't he check on our table for close to half an hour?) and acted pro-actively. I expect much better from a top tier restaurant.
Excellent service, responsive management, but both my husband’s soup (lobster bisque) and his entree (halibut) were served barely lukewarm. While they replaced his soup with a hot serving and comped our desserts, it did not make for an enjoyable meal, especially at these high prices. Especially since the same thing had happened last time we ate here, about five years ago. So my advice would be to order cold dishes, like the fabulous banana tower dessert.
I meet a longtime friend of my late husband at BWG when I return to NYC. It was my husbands favorite restaurant as he loved the jazz bar.

We have been going to Bluewater Grill at least 12 years. I made the mistake of asking to be seated upstairs. When we sat down the radiator was blowing cold air.I will give them credit for folding table cloths and bringing them over to place over the cold air. But things went downhill from there.After we finished our salad,It took a very long time to get our entrées.We had to ask about when the entrées would come. We saw four people who arrived after us get their entré yet ours still did not come.Unfortunately we appear to have gotten caught in a shift change.Our original waitress said she was off but another waiter would be taking care of us.After more than 30 minutes the two entrées did arrive. One of them was not warm. When you get a defective entrée you have two bad choices.Live with it or send it back and ruin the whole feel of the meal. We chose to live with it and later discovered that we would be penalized for that decision.We asked to see the manager about all the problems we had. She told us that she would be glad to send us some desserts.But when the check arrived one dessert was comped and the other wasn't. When we asked about that there was nothing gracious in the response by the manager. In fact the manager said something derogatory
about our not allowing them to warm up the cold entrée. It is an example of low quality service where the manager is more interested in proving they are right than in making you feel good about your experience at their establishment. It was a very unpleasant evening and for a pretty simple meal it took over two hours.

Our waiter Vittorio was excellent!!!! He greeted us warmly and promptly took our drink order. He thrilled us with his rendition, from memory, of the dining choices for the evening. We told him we had tickets for a 7pm movie and he told us not to worry that he would have us out with time to spare. He did. A great dining experience, the service, and the ambiance was terrific.
Wonderful brunch menu. Fabulous service, and we were allowed to linger — we spent 3 1/2 hours there! Split entrees with a friend - the Croque Madame and the shrimp/lobster roll were fabulous. Had a side order of thickly sliced bacon — YUM!!
Excellent as always. I haven't been for a few years and I was pleased to see that the quality of food, service and wine had not gone down. Raw bar was especially fresh. Main dishes were excellent. Service was prompt, attentive and friendly
