Melissa did a fabulous job!! We enjoyed the experience very much.
Had a wonderful dinner here for my daughter's 30th birthday. Waiter was helpful with menu suggestions, oyster selection, and drinks.
Best seafood ever!
Excellent food and excellent service! We were a group of 7 and we let our waiter choose appetizers for us to share - they were great.
Waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, nice selection on the menu, bar service was great, meal great.
Great meal. Great service.
My wife and I went there for our 30th anniversary. Seafood is excellent! They went out of their way as well to make our occasion special, giving us a secluded booth, a card, and a special desert. We really had a great time that night.
Amazing and delicious food! So glad we went- we will definitely be back. Great seafood selection and quality
Had to wait a while for my food but it was definitely busy
Everything overall was great however scallops where a bit bitter due to veggies with them
Waiter was a bit pushy as we took our time and wanted us to move along as I imagine there was another reservation coming
Wonderful evening - service was excellent and food fantastic. We will be back!
Fabulous food and service by waitstaff. My only complaint was with the noise level. It was difficult to carry on a conversation.
Food was gd and service excellent. Recommend
The service was great, atmosphere excellent and we enjoyed our food but my tendorlaoin was burnt on the bottom side. You could see that one side was cooked well done, and the other medium as I requested. My husband loved his scalliops and dessert was fabulous.
exceptional service and food!
I took my husband for his 70th birthday and we were wowed!
Great customer service and meal was super good
Excellent evening. Stunning food, great service, and some very good wines. Unfortunately, also very busy, loud, and filled with business folks who dominate the room. Still a great evening.
Servicio un poco lento y la terrina de salmon ahumado incomible. Las mesas muy juntas y la pareja de al lado muy ruidosa. Definitivamente no cumplio con los estándares de otras ocasiones.
Amazing food. Great service. They have many different oyster types that you should definitely have to try.
Great food, superb wine list, friendly and professional waiter. High end dining but 100% worth it.
We really enjoyed our evening. The food was very very good and we had outstanding service. More times than not at high end restaurants you leave hungry. The portion sizes were just right. Try the Wagyu Beef, you won't be disappointed.
This was my second time visiting the Blue Water while on business in Vancouver. Excellent food and service!
The ceviche on the tasting for two was a bit on the sour side, other than that, the food and wine were great. Chris, our server, was most kind and helpful.
Loved it! Great all round
Trying daily specials involves no risk.
Great experience yet again
Exceptional service from the minute you walk in the door. They noted it was my birthday and 3 different team members expressed wishes and they handed me hand written card. Nice touch. Extensive wine & spirits list. Devin our server made spot on recommendations for wine and the seafood. We had oysters, sushi, the sablefish and scallops. Everything was so fresh and flavours were amazing. Even though we rarely have dessert another recommendation from Devin and again very delicious. All team members (cause they work in a team) are friendly and seem to enjoy working here. Beautiful restaurant well worth a visit!
The food was fantastic as always! Always one of our favourite restaurants in Vancouver. The only issue I had on this particular occasion was that we were seated in an obvious overflow/private seating area which was completely separate from the main restaurant and it absolutely did not have the same atmosphere. We felt a little like we had been just pushed to the side. It would have been nice if staff would have advised us before we were seated and maybe offer an option for us to wait for another table if available.
Outstanding food and service! Oysters were tremendous.
Excellent in all ways. Come to Vancouver every few years for conferences and try to get to the blue water cafe at least twice in a week. There are very few such excellent fish restaurants in the world
Excellent bar menu, super servers, food was creative but substantially oversalted and overpriced.
Went here for the first time to celebrate a birthday. Service was excellent and the food was very good. Didn’t have the sushi although we hear it’s the best. Will try that when we return.
Overall very good.
We have been coming to this restaurant for many years. The food, the wine, the servers, the sommelier are all excellent. Really one of the best in Vancouver.
Just don't order coctails. My wife and myself made the mistake to order two (different) coctails. When they arriver, they had not even the slightest hint of alcohol. Tasted just sour water. (And if I wanted sour water, I could get it free in our hotel lobby.)
We were seated close to the bar and did not even hear the usual coctail shaker sound. We saw that the bartender experimented some kind of "stirred, not shaken" technique. (Too much 007 movies?) He stirrep (for long) in a large glass ice and what seemed water (but could be alcohol in it). I am not saying that originally our drinks did not have alcohol - just that after his striing technique it was watered dow too much and was imperceptible.
Again, we love this place and will definitely return - just no coctails next time. Go and have a great dinner at Blue Water and if you don't ask for coctail, you will have a wonderful evening.
This is probably one of the worst service I received from the restaurant. I have visit the restaurant on average once a month since October during different occasions.
My waiter Gerry first set up sharing plates for us and he did not ask me to put away my phone to make space, instead he put my phone on my plate. Which I find it extremely unsanitary.
At the end of the dinner, we ordered a few orders of fries and he asked if we want to put away before dessert and one of us told him that we would like to keep it since we are still enjoying it. And soon after we said that to him, he took away the fries.
When we get the bill, he hand written on the receipt for 18% gratuity which the restaurant did not inform me that for the size of our party that we need to pay 18% gratuity. Which we normally will have no problem paying that amount if we receive good service. But he definitely did not deserve to get tip at 18%.
If looking for a quieter spot, ask to be seated in the cellar room as the main seating area can be rather loud. Our table of 5 agreed that the main dishes were all superb but the desserts (we tried the chestnut cheesecake and bread pudding) were disappointing. We especially enjoyed the sablefish. Very attentive service. Overall a very nice evening.
Every minute was outstanding. The food, service and presentation. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the service was perfect in that we never felt like the the waitstaff wasn't there enough or too much. The music was at a nice volume too, not too loud but loud enough that you didn't feel awkward having a conversation without having the next table listen in. Will definitely head back. A special occasion is a good excuse, but so it a Tuesday night. :D
The food and drinks were AMAZING at blue water cafe. We had scallops that were to die for. It's pretty expensive but very worth it.
Amazing oysters, sushi, wine, seafood! Would definitely go back!!!
First time in Vancouver. Read a ton of positive reviews and everything lived up to the hype. From the moment we were greeted at the door we could tell we were in for great service. The drinks and food were equally delicious. Will come back every time we are in Vancouver. Some of the best fish we’ve ever had.
The food isnt amazing, I had the sole with farfalle, and it was quite bland, but still enjoyable. The creme brulees, on the other hand, were overly sweet that nobody could finish them. The service was fantastic.
