Blue Water Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Went there for our special occasion, first time dining at Blue Water Cafe. The hostess was very welcoming and guided us to our table promptly. The waitress that helped us was incredibly helpful (even though she probably had injury on her wrist seeing her with supporters, but she still provided top notch service! ) and introduced us to the special of the day and various great options on the menu. We had the seafood tower, nigiri platter, and uni nigiri; all of the seafood tasted so fresh, my girlfriend said she hasn't tasted seafood so fresh!
Will recommend coming here, also recommend making reservations beforehand since it was very busy even on a Tuesday night. Will definitely be coming back again!
Absolutely fantastic. Huge wine list!!!! Amazing sushi. Best seafood. Not cheap, bit worth every dime.
I’m not good at writing the minimum 50 words so I’m just blithering now. OpenTable you should reduce from fifty to 5 words. There’s no need for people to have o blither on, you’ll only dissuade them from offering a review.
Recently visited the Blue Water Cafe for a date night and was not disappointed. Overall had a very good experience. The service was outstanding and the restaurant had a very nice ambiance. The food was great, but for the price I payed, I was expecting more. No complaints, I just don't think it warrants 5 stars.
For a party of 2 we were seated at a booth for 4. Cocktails were delivered by the sommelier promptly and customized as requested. The server was knowledgeable about the food menu and the specials. After telling us one of the menu dishes was not available, we were disappointed when we ordered and were told that a different item we were ordering was not available either. The server also disappointed when we sought help for wine ordering and tried to assist without offering sommelier assistance. We had to ask for the sommelier, and the experience with the sommelier was excellent - helped us find a delicious wine at our price point for the meal. The food was outstanding. We shared a main of the seared scallops to start. Fantastic. For the main, I had the rack of lamb and it was done to perfection with a slightly too-sweet sauce for me, and an excellent array of vegetables. My companion had beef tenderloin that came with a wonderful savory sauce (that I dipped my lamb in) and another excellent assortment of crisp but cooked vegetables. No room left for dessert. Would love to go back.
Great way to celebrate New Year’s Day dinner with the family! It was a leisurely special dinner with cocktails, oysters, appetizers, great wine, wonderful seafood, dinner, dessert and after dinner drinks. The staff was very professional and engaging. The evening was very classy.
We were told this is the most fancy and wonderful Restaurant in Vancouver but it had felt short of our expectations. Not only was the sturgeon watery and overcooked but the waiter service accidentally spilled icewine (pink) onto my Husband white jumper but we were not offered an apology or at least a complimentary drink on the house. Nevertheless we paid 20% tips as it was the new year festive spirit. Nevertheless the wagu beef and oysters were good.
We were in town for a family Christmas get-together, and decided to finally try the Blue Water Cafe. I would say that my expectations were met and exceeded; in particular, the oysters and the sushi were absolutely fantastic and I would be happy to recommend this place to anyone passing through.
Blue Water has been my favourite restaurant for over 10+ years and it never disappoints! Just the best seafood, cocktails, outstanding service and ambiance. I have introduced this place to, I don’t know how many of my friends, family, clients, corporate staff and many more. Everyone loves it.
We went for my parents' anniversary, just a few days before Christmas. Our server was very friendly and attentive and made the experience warm and inviting. Although the restaurant was packed, the noise level was low, and my parents who are a bit hard of hearing had no issues hearing throughout the evening. The booth we were in was cozy and the temperature was comfortable.
The food was so good! My mother and I got the lobster bisque to start which was perfectly seasoned. The scallops in the bisque were cooked perfectly - still tender, not rubbery. My father and my boyfriend got the seasonal greens which were also very good. My mother, father and I each got different fish dishes (the Char, Sablefish and the Yellowfin Tuna), all cooked perfectly, well seasoned and not too salty. My boyfriend got the shortribs, which were a fairly large portion and so tender they were falling off the bone. We got the chocolate lava cake to share for desert which was probably the best lava cake I've ever had. Hands down the best meal I've had since moving to Vancouver 1.5 years ago!
Got a table as a single person only because I booked for two and then snow prevented my friend from coming. This was good because I don't like eating at the bar. Nice ambience, attentive service, excellent cocktail (Tokyo 75) and delightful new wine on the list (Nebbiolo). Good oysters if a little on the salty side and great effort with the risotto, though I again forgot to ask the chef to put half as much condiments as usual. Will come back.
Hands down some of the freshest, delicious and spectacularly prepared seafood in town. Everything was plump, juicy and just melted in your mouth. Their seafood tower is a must and all their entrees have amazing flavour. The non seafood entree's were equally amazing. This is certainly a special hotspot and the ambience was fits many a posh or fancy fun occasion.
