Perched at the top of Munjoy Hill in Portland’s East end, we are a chef-owned restaurant built on fresh market ingredients, friends, and family.

We have fun in the kitchen, but we also couldn’t be more serious about what we do. That’s why we get our goods from the very best: Stonecipher Farm, , Valley View Farm eggs and meats, Archer Angus beef, and Broad Arrow Farm pork.

We love this place and have for a long time! Food is creative and delicious—always. And the staff are kind, friendly people who seem to love what they are doing. This was our first in person dinner in almost 2 years. We felt so grateful just to be there and blessed by the delicious food and kindness.

My mushroom pasta had grit/dirt in it. We were seated outside and there were no heat lamps. No blankets were offered and it was really uncomfortable. My friend’s food was good but not great. I had hoped for much better.

We grabbed the only remaining reservation last minute and it was for outside. It was a bit nippy but totally worth it. The server kept us supplied with hot drinks and made the transition between courses easy because we were cold. We especially liked the Chocolate pot de crème and the parsnip and fennel soup but everything was delicious with a good variety for each course. A little neighborhood traffic passed by but it wasn't distracting at all. Would love to go back when it's a bit warmer or we could eat inside.

Wonderful evening - made a last minute late (9pm) reservation. We felt right at home. Food was excellent - Fall Salads, Beef Brisket, & Chicken (which tasted like Thanksgiving), & Pot du Creme were all top notch. Definitely will return and will recommend. Can't wait for the next time!

We have always enjoyed our dinner here before the good theater and missed it during the pandemic. Sorry that the before 6:30 pm wine specials are no longer available. Especially enjoyed last night’s short ribs.

The food was good that we ordered. However just be aware that the waitress did tell us that there were no gluten free, vegetarian options other than a few appetizers, nothing could be modified to put together or change a dish.

Spent $120 for dinner and went home still hungry lol. Yep the seafood stew is such a ripoff. $30 for 4 small pieces of half-cooked potatoes, 4 mussels and tiny piece of fish. And my friend (celebrating birthday there) had mushroom pasta, and it tasted like rancid nuts for some reason. I understand restaurants are suffering due to the pandemic. But your business won't go far if you keep cutting corners

Finally made it to Blue Spoon for the first time in my 3.5 years living here for my boyfriend’s and my 3-year anniversary, and it didn’t disappoint. Both starters and both entrees were wonderful and our Pinot Noir paired beautifully. Staff was kind and helpful. Thanks for a lovely anniversary date night!

Lovely mid fall outdoor dining experience. Beer and wine choices good (2 of us had the Austin Street IPA) 3 of us had the burger (excellent), salad was simple but good and the carrots were delicious. Beignets were average. Our server was lovely and knowledgeable

Delicious! That short rib was divine. Such good flavors and sauce, with delicate meat, perfect potatoes and vegetables. The dessert, pot of creme, was amazing. And good simple salads to start.

Blue spoon wonderfully accommodated us last minute when someone joined our party we had a wonderful meal sitting outside very cozy an excellent service waitress as well as the bartender. Love seasonal food cooked to perfection!

Dining here was a wonderful experience! Away from the touristy docks, this little restaurant in a quiet residential neighborhood offered up great food expertly prepared, good service, and a quaint vibe. The menu was small but varied. We enjoyed beef tartare, chicken liver mousse, pan seared cod, and mussels, with beignets for dessert. Portions were generous, and reasonably priced. Don’t miss this neighborhood gem!

We are staying in Munjpy Hill and picked Blue Spoon as it was about a block from our rental. Now that we have eaten there, we would return even if we were not staying close enough to walk! The food, the service, and the quiet atmosphere were all outstanding. We loved the charred carrot appetizer and our respective dinners (duck for me, bavette steak for my husband): Everything was cooked perfectly and the sides served with each entree were interesting, tasty, and just right for the dish being served. We will be back!

We ate outdoors which felt just right, tables set quite far apart. Kudos to the wait staff who worked hard and with good humor and grace back and forth indoors and out serving us. Food, as usual, was yummy.

Had a wonderful meal in this small, cozy neighborhood restaurant in our first trip to Portland. Service was friendly and excellent. Fish was outstanding. Great option for going off the touristy beaten path a bit.

We were left underwhelmed with our dinner. It started rough when our reserved table wasn't ready upon arrival, which is understandable, but instead of being apologetic or offering us a drink as we waited, the waitress was passive aggressive. As for the food; we're a table of 2, one is GF and both are vegetarian. The sauteed carrots with goat cheese as a starter was delicious, but the main (not much choice for Veg/GF) the ratatouille was very mediocre- under-cooked zucchini (not even cooked in the sauce itself, which IS ratatouille as I know it) with marinara sauce (tasty). For $24, disappointing.
