Perched at the top of Munjoy Hill in Portland’s East end, we are a chef-owned restaurant built on fresh market ingredients, friends, and family. Chef/owner David Iovino grew up in a family that valued coming together over food, and that tradition has carried forward as the foundation of Blue Spoon.

We have fun in the kitchen, but we also couldn’t be more serious about what we do. That’s why we get our goods from the very best: Black Kettle Farm, Laughingstock Farm, Stone Cipher Farm, Fishbowl Farm, Freedom Farm, Valley View Farm eggs and meats, Wee Bit Farm beef and pork, Lankin’s Gorges Cheeses, Woolever Farm lamb, and Rick Tibbet’s mushrooms.

ALWAYS love Blue Spoon. Never ever fails! What I love is that it's not the hippest best food trend. It doesn't need to be!! It's just damn good.

A belated Valentine’s Day dinner. The evening was perfect at the Blue Spoon as the opening cocktails, appetizer, entrees and desert were all fantastic. We’ve dined here several times and have never been disappointed. The service and ambiance are always top shelf.

This is a small, intimate space - but the care taken in the preparation of the food - from appetizers to main course to dessert - is outstanding! I would highly recommend dining here, not only for special occasions, but for a lovely evening meal after the theater. I have dined here several times, and there has never been a disappointment in either food or service. Highly recommended!!

We came up to Portland from Boston for an afternoon show and had a lovely meal afterwards. Excellent food and service. We would definitely go back!

The mussels were very good...especially sopping up the sauce with bread and butter! I had the ribeye but was so stuffed after a couple glasses of wine and mussels (with bread and butter), I couldn’t really enjoy it. This is the 2nd time we’ve been to the Blue Spoon and enjoyed ourselves both times. Tiny place so reservations are usually your best bet.

The menu doesn't change much over time but one of the main entrees (ragu) is on a rotation so there's often something new to try and the trios of dips are always full of fresh ideas.... The food is consistently yummy, service is consistently efficient, friendly, fun and lovely, the small room atmosphere is always energetic, cocktails are great, Blue Spoon is consistently one of the neighborhood destinations for us and never disappoints.
