Perched at the top of Munjoy Hill in Portland’s East end, we are a chef-owned restaurant built on fresh market ingredients, friends, and family. Chef/owner David Iovino grew up in a family that valued coming together over food, and that tradition has carried forward as the foundation of Blue Spoon.

We have fun in the kitchen, but we also couldn’t be more serious about what we do. That’s why we get our goods from the very best: Black Kettle Farm, Laughingstock Farm, Stone Cipher Farm, Fishbowl Farm, Freedom Farm, Valley View Farm eggs and meats, Wee Bit Farm beef and pork, Lankin’s Gorges Cheeses, Woolever Farm lamb, and Rick Tibbet’s mushrooms.

The food is always great at Blue Spoon, that night it was the trio of dips, roasted carrots, duck risotto, the braised pot and even the simple roasted chicken was delicious. Drinks are expertly and generously mixed and poured and the service couldn't be any friendlier, more fun, warmer and more relaxed while super efficient. And the atmosphere is always lively but not oppressively loud. We just love Clue Spoon!

Cozy, comfortable atmosphere, tasty fresh comfort food, and the best service we’ve experienced in a while. Seriously, our server could not have been more friendly, skillful, and accommodating. We also really enjoyed wine time! We got to savor some really nice wines for a very reasonable price. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return.

One of our favorite Portland restaurants - creative food with changing menu. We have never been disappointed.

The five of us had a great time. The waiter was friendly and attentive and entirely comfortable mixing an excellent martini. We shared the three dips and the charcuterie plate, then enjoyed the ribeye steak- my wife had the bistro burger. Huge beet salads and quality Brussels sprouts- all the food was delicious. A nice French Cab Franc was one of many enticing wine list selections. We will definitely come again.

Blue spoon always has creative dishes for the adventurous eater, as well as solid comfort food, appealing to all. The picky eater kids I've brought to Blue spoon always left full and happy. The cocktail, beer, and wine options are good. Terriffic use of local and seasonal ingredients.

Very good food, as always! Small menu with interesting items, they do a great job. It's small so I always recommend reservations, but worth it.

We had a delicious meal. I don’t usually order chicken out but for some reason decided to do so. It was the best chicken I’ve ever had! Green olive, mushroom and artichoke Raghu was amazing! The pot de crepe for dessert was perfect. Friends had scallops, steak, cauliflower and risotto. Everyone left happy and full! We’ll be back.

ALWAYS love Blue Spoon. Never ever fails! What I love is that it's not the hippest best food trend. It doesn't need to be!! It's just damn good.

A belated Valentine’s Day dinner. The evening was perfect at the Blue Spoon as the opening cocktails, appetizer, entrees and desert were all fantastic. We’ve dined here several times and have never been disappointed. The service and ambiance are always top shelf.

This is a small, intimate space - but the care taken in the preparation of the food - from appetizers to main course to dessert - is outstanding! I would highly recommend dining here, not only for special occasions, but for a lovely evening meal after the theater. I have dined here several times, and there has never been a disappointment in either food or service. Highly recommended!!

The mussels were very good...especially sopping up the sauce with bread and butter! I had the ribeye but was so stuffed after a couple glasses of wine and mussels (with bread and butter), I couldn’t really enjoy it. This is the 2nd time we’ve been to the Blue Spoon and enjoyed ourselves both times. Tiny place so reservations are usually your best bet.

The menu doesn't change much over time but one of the main entrees (ragu) is on a rotation so there's often something new to try and the trios of dips are always full of fresh ideas.... The food is consistently yummy, service is consistently efficient, friendly, fun and lovely, the small room atmosphere is always energetic, cocktails are great, Blue Spoon is consistently one of the neighborhood destinations for us and never disappoints.

Third time at this restaurant and the food has been phenomenal every single time. Service on our second visit wasn't great however, this time was much better. Great happy hour specials on wine and beer. I recommend the scallops and braised pot pasta! Will be back.
