We have fun in the kitchen, but we also couldn’t be more serious about what we do. That’s why we get our goods from the very best: Stonecipher Farm, , Valley View Farm eggs and meats, Archer Angus beef, and Broad Arrow Farm pork.

Wonderful food, drinks, and service. We reserved a table outside and it was ready for us when we arrived. Will come again.
The food was spectacular and our server was knowledgeable about the menu. Went for a date night and it was perfect. We will definitely be going back.
This was our first time to visit but it won’t be our last. Food, ambiance, service exceeded our expectations. We were happy we decided to each get a dessert instead of share just one!
A neighborhood restaurant with friendly service and outstanding food away from the commotion of Portland’s tourist sections.
Excellent, thank you!
This outing was a spur of the moment, what can I find on Open Table after attending a Seadogs Baseball game. And The Blue Spoon fit the bill perfectly. We were their last table so the service was relaxed and chatty which was great. We have been here often for lunch in the past but since they are currently only b open for dinner had eliminated our daytime dining. But since the game ran late it was fun to have the opportunity to indulge in their nighttime menu.
I had the salade verte which was bodaciously fresh and full of asparagus,French green beans and fresh peas with baby spinach leaves and a light sesame seed dressing. It was delicious.I had the Bang Island mussels which were also delicious in a classic white wine and garlic sauce. My husband has the simple salad and the steak which was served with a potato stack and broccolini. He didn’t offer me a bite.We finished up with a slice of the almond tart which was so delicate and flavorful. The wine suggestions were right on target.I would repeat the meal again in a heartbeat.
a pleasant experience. Food good, but not up to previous standard. Service good.
Wonderful food, great service, fair pricing. Love this place!
The food and service were great. I had a very good piece of fish and my wife liked the hamburger. The only slight drawback is that their outdoor dining area juts out into the road, so cars were going by constantly. It’s a pandemic thing, I suppose. They’ve tried to make it a cozy, enclosed space, and it certainly felt safe. Just slightly odd. I would eat here again.
Perfect cozy neighborhood setting with great food and service. Wonderful use of fresh herbs. Mussels are exceptional. Food comes super fast so if you want to enjoy a cocktail, delay ordering.
We had a delicious dinner in outside seating with a very attentive and personable waiter. Highly recommend!
Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and well prepared !
Excellent all around.
Great food, really nice server!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Delicious burgers and great service from Shelby!
We had a great experience at Blue Spoon. Our food was delicious, our server was attentive and helpful, he even offered to have the bar make my 17 year old a fun mocktail, which she enjoyed. The tables are close together since the restaurant is small but it really wasn't an issue. Loved the cozy, intimate atmosphere.
Waiter was wonderful as was food and drink!❤️
Outstanding gourmet burger!
Keith was a joy to have as our server. Very knowledge and friendly.
The nicest staff, cute decor and wonderful food. The beef tartare was incredible!
Best chicken in Portland. Just simple and fabulous!
Sat outside, great experience.
A little bit of an issue with requesting fresh lemon juice in my cocktail. Who wants processed juice. I don’t! A cocktail is an important part of your dining experience.
Good food & great experience. Love the small neighborhood places.
A really special place. The owner/chef met us on our arrival at Blue Spoon and introduced himself. Will set the atmosphere in motion for a superb meal which followed, complimented by two very nice glasses of wine and a taste of France for desert. If you want to dine well, dine at Blue Spoon - it is a real trendsetter.
This place continues to be a go-to. Particularly magic on warmish Maine nights sitting outdoors with a puppy.
An adorable little restaurant with excellent food, service, and a cozy ambiance. Highly recommend!
Food and service were excellent. It is a very small space so just know you’ll be quite close to other diners.
Just what a neighborhood restaurant should be: small, cozy, with welcoming service and excellent food. Nice choice of entrees at different price points.
The food was amazing I got the chicken breast and my boyfriend got the cod. We also got the carrots under starters and it was amazing. I would definitely go back in a heartbeat
Small place off the beaten track in Portland, ME but don’t skip this place. Inventive cuisine without getting too foofoo. I would come again
One of our favorite restaurants for many years. The kitchen is a little heavy-handed on the salt, but otherwise it's always a great meal, from apps to dessert.
This is a very good kitchen, with excellent service and a gentle neighborhood vibe.
This is a delightful addition to our Fav list. The intimate indoor and outdoor dining options are a return to the kind of romantic dining which we treasure. Beverage and dinner options were very satisfying; service was informed and relaxed. My husband liked his generous portion of beautifully flavored chicken dish; my burger was cooked perfectly. My one request (to heat the burger bun) was quickly addressed. The fruit tart was a perfect finish. We will return and will happily recommend The Blue Spoon.”
beautiful evening eating outside! a couple of the little green spring bugs were coming from the tree above us. we had a view of both the water and the portland observatory. charred carrots, peas, and beet salad all exceptional. mussels were good, steak was great.
Wonderful food, great service.
The meal we had was very lackluster for the price we were charged. Everything had raw thick cut garlic in it. The meal was just really underwhelming. Every time I talked to the server she gave both my wife and I dirty looks like we were a Nuisance. I left there feeling like I wasted my money and time.
This is my first time visiting Portland Maine with my husband & for our anniversary I made Reservations with these wonderful restaurant because the reviews were great, food looks amazing & I wanted a beautiful atmosphere for the occasion & it was the best experience I’ve ever had. Our waitress was so friendly & very informative about the menu. & the food was AMAZING!! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Maine. We are so thankful for the warm welcoming & delicious food.
This is my second dining experience at Blue Spoon. As the first was a few years ago, it is not relevant to the experience of June 4, except that the good memories of the first occasion were more than validated by the recent dinner. Service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The food was dining the way we like it: high quality ingredients, perfectly cooked and elegantly presented.
This restaurant can be confidently recommended as a most worthy competitor to other frequently-reviewed restaurants in Portland and we will certainly be visiting again.
