Perched at the top of Munjoy Hill in Portland’s East end, we are a chef-owned restaurant built on fresh market ingredients, friends, and family.

We have fun in the kitchen, but we also couldn’t be more serious about what we do. That’s why we get our goods from the very best: Stonecipher Farm, , Valley View Farm eggs and meats, Archer Angus beef, and Broad Arrow Farm pork.

This was our first visit to the blue spoon and the food was really fresh and different, we loved it! We had the Cod with aioli and the Hanger Steak; starters of Braised Carrots and charred Caesar. We will definitely be going again; everything was so good!

This was our second time back. The food is excellent, the drinks well-made too. Blue Spoon has unexpectedly taken the #1 favorite restaurant spot for both my husband and I.

We had the charred Carrots and Chicken Liver Mousse for starters. For dinner, I had the Bavette Steak (wish their was a tad more turnip purée - my only critique). He had the Cod with white beans. Both top-notch. Don’t overlook the brownie sundae for dessert. It is so good.

Cocktails and dinner were very well executed. Great flavors on the glazed carrots. Salmon and mushroom fettuccini

Very special night at Blue Spoon. There are only a few tables available, don't go without a reservation. We stuffed beignets with pot de creme for an exquisite dessert.

The Blue Spoon was wonderful. They were kind, high spirited and made lovely recommendations. I love that I was able to make a reservation and that I could find out their availability on their website. In this day and age it isn’t clear who is open for take out vs. sit in.

Was in Portland for Valentine's day - as I'm not from Portland was happy to get a reservation, but had no idea what to expect. We absolutely loved it! Food was fantastic, ambiance was perfect for a romantic dinner, staff were exceptional. I highly recommend!

Have been to Blue Spoon many times over the past few years. Disappointed that they no longer offer wine time, but understand the sacrifices being made due to the pandemic. However, the food felt expensive given the quality of food delivered, and the lack of volume in the restaurant. The vegetables in the braised short rib tasted undercooked, as did several of the appetizers. The heritage chicken was bland and chewy.

I liked the wooden structure better but was still grateful for the setup. The heaters could be a tad warmer as it gets colder but ultimately it was all perfectly fine.

My only complaint is that the outdoor tables were extremely close to each other. I understand restaurants want to seat as many customers as possible, but during COVID times, I was a bit uncomfortable with how close we were to other patrons.

We were promptly met and sat at a very intimate corner table facing the street. The deviled eggs were out of sight and the cheese board was scrumptious! Dinner (chicken and short ribs) were beautifully cooked with fresh vegetables both served in a full body sauce! We are so happy we discovered this gem of a restaurant.

We had a delicious dinner for 6 this past week, everything was great from the cocktails to appetizers and main course, and we enjoyed the desserts we weren't going to order! Social distancing was in force, we were very comfortable in the corner, and our server was polite and helpful. Great spot for a lovely quiet meal.

I came with my boyfriend here for a date night and it was perfect. It's a bit removed from downtown Portland, so don't wear heels if you're walking (I did and, ouch). Our server was really friendly and on top of everything -- food was phenomenal. I had the roasted chicken and loved it! We got the steak tartare to start which was also well made. Two thumbs up for us!

Make sure you get Julio as your server. He was awesome! He can make you the best Old Fashion on the East Coast. Food was delicious.

Excellent meals! We had reservations for a Friday evening at 7:15. Our table was inside and was ready on time. We were appropriately spaced for the covid restrictions. We shared the brussels sprouts appetizer, which was very good. My husband had the excellent monkfish, but I think I made the best choice with the short ribs that evening - it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, with a sauce redolent of a butter finish. The wine selection was quite good - had a bottle of a very good CDR. Service was attentive but not overbearing. All in all, an excellent experience at a unique establishment

We had a lovely anniversary dinner on the “street patio.” The food was good (though a little over salted). Delicious creme brûlée! The wait staff made sure to top off our Prosecco during our celebratory meal. Thank you for a nice evening!
