If your looking for a good meal with excellent service look no further. The service is great and the food wonderful. Be sure to make reservations as the wait can be long during peak times. Live music and a lively crowd. Not the place for a quiet dinner or inmate conversation.
Fantastic meal and service!
Over rated. Food is ok at best. Blue River trades on a reputation it does not deserve.
Server was excellent - provided great guidance when requested.
Food was really great - everyone was pleased with their entree.
Cocktails were the weakest link.
Terrific food and atmoshere. Nice live music and service was great as well.
Always good. Easy walk on main street! Love it.
We tried a few restaurants in Breck and this was our favorite! A couple of really good pasta dishes and just a fun, cool atmosphere!
The martini selection is great, some excellent combinations. All of the appetizers do not disappoint. We had the special crab cake sliders which were outstanding. Not your typical crab cakes at all. I had the special which was the halibut over a polenta with blistered tomatoes. I’m still salivating three days later it was so good. We went with the locally made ice cream for dessert, salted Carmel was the flavor, served soft.....wow! Wine list is more than satisfactory. I make a point of coming here every time we are in Breck. A must for a real foodie. A great spot for happy hour. Make reservations
Very interesting menu - but ingredient choices strange and not balanced. All items utilize unusual combinations of tastes but i don't feel that the outcome was satisfactory.
We love Blue River. We eat there every year during our spring break and it is always great!
Food was fine, but not excellent. The best part of the experience was the Swing Jazz band that played. The were great and not too loud that you couldn’t carry on a family conversation.
Nice location with easy parking on the street (a bit rare in Breck). Interesting, varied menu - I had the nut encrusted Mahi-Mahi which was maybe one minute over cooked, but the sauce added the right amount of moisture and the risotto was delic. My husband had the pork tenderloin special and it was so flavorful and tender. We were both truly delighted. Beware of La Boda martini - you can’t drink just one; combination of tequila, grapefruit & arugula is amazing. We both had the chocolate lava cake/torte but could have easily shared just one. Decadence in Chocolate - way yummy. Our wait staff Renee was very helpful and attentive without being intrusive- be sure to sit so you can watch the interaction of the staff on the floor - it’s like a fine dance as everyone is aware of everyone else while moving at high speed. Truly professional. And of course the music by blues man Mark is amazing - he takes Jimmy Hendrix, The Almond Bros and Willy Nelson originals and make them his - what talent. We plan to come back as often as possible!
Great restaurant. We always come here for dinner when we are in breckenridge
Daddy/Daughter ski trip celebrating upcoming graduation. A great venue and atmosphere
Amazing food, drinks and service. We had a romantic date night and enjoyed every minute. People watching on Main St. from the large windows was fun too. Service was excellent and food was delicious. We'll definitely be back.
We had gone before as everything is great! From the hostess greeting to the service to the great food! We will continue to go for sure! Love it
Our second time did not disappoint. The menu was completely different than a year ago and still excellent. Service is knowledgeable and timely. The wine list is very good as is the cocktail list and the variety of available beverages. Great job!
Drinks were dope, food fantastically creative and yummy! We give it full solid stars!!
My wife and daughter have been visiting Breck for years and we always make sure that visit the Blue River Bistro at least once during our stay. We love the food and atmosphere and the wonderful live jazz! The service is outstanding as well. They greet you as if they have known you for years! I would like to see a change in the menu though. We have been visiting for 7 years and the menu hasn't really changed much. Also, the deserts could use a little change..not much for the kids,,,but overall... I am sure we will be back next trip!!
Oh yeah...try to make it there for a relaxed lunch as well....always a perfect lunch option!!
Such a shame, lovely looking restaurant, food was good, staff good, however guitarist was using large speaker which was soooo loud our group of five sitting in a booth near the bar, couldn't hear one another, when the guitarist had his break, on popped loud music over the in-house speaker system - so, if it's a loud music filled evening with food you like then this is the place for you, however if it's an evening of listening to background music then would not suggest as a venue for couples, or special occasions. Only our opinion (all five of us mixed ages agreed far far too loud) check it out for yourself.
Enjoyed dinner with our 17, 19 and 27 yr old daughters and her boyfriend. The atmosphere was perfect right from the start, with great food, drinks, and service to follow. We had heard great comments from our shuttle driver and multiple persons that we spoke to in town, so we decided to try it. Perfect last meal to a great family ski trip in Breckenridge. We have been coming her to ski for over 25years. First time to the bistro but definitely will be a favorite for years to come. Thank you!
Interesting items on the menu and all was excellently prepared
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Breckenridge. We had the Salmon 'Oscar and New York steak both were absolutely wonderful. The Salmon was very tender with bearnaise and crab. Jason’s service was excellent . We went early at 5PM after a day on the slopes. The bar looked like a local hot spot. We visit Breckenridge often and I am not sure why we have not been here before but we will be back.
Food was great as was our server. We will return the next time we are back in Breckenridge.
We took dear friends there for a bon voyage dinner. The atmosphere, especially the piano and bass background music. was superb. Rene' was an extraordinary server - there when you needed her, disappeared when you did not. And the regional, seasonal menu was most impressive - plus great pairings on the wine list and excellent before-dinner cocktails. All in all, a sublime send off to our friends.
The food is out of this world. We go there every time we are in Breckinridge. We are there often since we own a condo there.
Had a fabulous meal at Blue River Bistro with friends. Each of us ordered something different and each of loved our meal. Had 2 great appetizers too. Our favorites are the spare ribs, trout & lamb. The live music was great and not too loud.
Only down side is that can be a little noisy and you can end up close to another group if sitting in the long booth area. But we had a great time! I have eaten there many times and the food is always great!
Live music was the perfect backdrop to fine dining. Interesting menu and great drinks!
Just OK. Bar was crowded. I was there on a Monday night after skiing. You have to wind yourself through people in the small bar to get to the restroom. Wine list by the glass isn't very good. Food was good. Server was nice. Parking is a challenge.
Food and service is always outstanding! Lunch was fabulous, and our server Emily was amazing! Definitely a MUST VISIT when in Breckenridge!
Excellent waiter and wait staff - great seating - great food from appetizers to entrees - overall enjoyable evening
Delicious meals. Have been there several times over the last few years. Have always had excellent service. The music has always been pleasant in the background.
My husband and I are following a restricted diet;. The waitress, Adrienne, was very accommodating! Highly recommend her and this place!
Great Food and Atmosphere. Best meal we had all week in Breckenridge. Salmon was awesome. Atmosphere was contemporary but relaxed.
Been several times and always enjoyed, however my recent visit I ordered steak medium rare, it came medium to well done. The server and manager on duty offered to change but I didn’t want to wait as the rest of the group were a good way through their meal. My bill for this entree was discounted 50%. I guess that covered the vegetables I ate and part of the steak! Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff. Shame the meal did not work his item.
Blue River Bistro is one of Breck's best. Consistently good, and creative without being overly trendy. The menu covers the bases for beef, fish, vegie, chicken, with local ingredients when available. They have live music many nights that is appropriate in terms of volume and style. Great for couples and parties who are looking for something elegant but not over the top. Tight tables make it not ideal for restless kids. Never had a bad meal. Try the chocolate bread pudding.
Excellent meal, very good service and a fun spot. Solo guitarist playing understated classic folk rock was enjoyable but not intrusive. We both had pasta dishes that were wonderfully prepared and more than ample.
Regular customers, brought our family visiting Breck in for dinner.
The restaurant feels like a date night since it’s not a common destination for spring breakers with kids. The drink menu is excellent and we enjoyed our appetizers and entree selections thoroughly!
Great food. Our waitress, Allison, was amazing! Loved the music. Sometimes it can be to loud, but tonight it was perfect!
Came to Blue River last year and fell in love - this year the affair continued. Excellent appetizers and main dishes and our service staff was outstanding. Can’t wait to go back next year!!
