Blue River Bistro Ratings and Reviews
This is my favorite restaurant in Breckenridge. We found it on a trip a couple of years ago and make it a point to visit every time we are in town. We are from Denver so we have a lot of great food options and Blue River is as good as many Denver haunts. It hasn't disappointed, yet! Great food and great service - great bar as well!
Our two young children were having a hard time getting into the restaurant. The hostess came outside and got them to come in, getting them some fruit (with cherries) immediately. The whole staff was so accommodating and kind. The food was good and fast. Overall, they turned a bad night into a fun one with good food!
Had a 'date night' with my husband. The food was good, though he wished there'd been a New York on the menu. Our server, Brianna, was awesome. Loved the live music, just the right mood and not so loud we couldn't talk. We'll be back the next time we're in Breck.
I had heard great things about Blue River Bistro, and was excited to give it a try when I was in town for a couple of evenings. It's not a large restaurant, but there are several tables, so it is definitely a little on the louder side. The live music was a nice touch in the background. The food was exceptional, and my wife and I both really enjoyed appetizers, entrees and drinks. A very good cocktail menu. Service was friendly and attentive. I will absolutely make another stop here next time I'm in town!
We were celebrating our anniversary and our server acknowledged that and gave us Champaign to celebrate upon our arrival. There was light music provided by a live guitarist. The food was very good from the tiger shrimp and calamari appetizer to our entrees of Artic Char and Beef Tenderloin. The price surprised me a bit, but likely shouldn’t have given that this is a ski resort.
We went to this restraurant by recommendation from the staff at Tiger Run. It was well worth the trip and the food, service and ambiance was exceptional and I would recommend this place for a great meal. Drinks were very nicely done as well. It was casual but elegant and perfect for someone on vacation or just up for the day.
This restaurant was amazing! I went in there while visiting Breckenridge for the weekend and even the locals kept telling me about the restaurant all day. Happy hour is the way to go if you want a lively experience. However, if you're looking for a quiet romantic experience book a table in the dining room. You won't be sorry either way. Don't leave Breck without hitting this place. The food, drinks, staff, and location were top notch.
The trout and pork shank were excellent, good with beautiful presentation.
Our guests chose to order pasta dishes, not sure why.
They were basic, with small tiger shrimp and the chicken parmesan, nothing special.
We had reservations and arrived early so why would you try to place us right behind the singer and the hostess.........we did request a table change.
Our waiter was efficient but failed to tell us that they were out of avocados until AFTER we inquired about the lack thereof as two of us had ordered the vegetarian Benedict for brunch. He did not offer an alternative to be brought or any compensation, food or otherwise, which was disappointing.
Our dinner at the Blue River Bistro was delicious! We began with a garden salad and a caesar salad and both were very good. My wife moved on to a hearty serving of chicken parmesan while I thoroughly enjoyed the shellfish cioppino. During the entire dinner, a guitarist played a variety of acoustic songs which made the ambiance even better. I highly recommend this restaurant for Breckenridge vacationers!
We celebrated our 10th Anniversary there and were treated like it was our special night from the outset. Champagne was waiting for us when we arrived at our table and both the manager and sever greeted us with Happy Anniversary wishes. Handcrafted cocktails were tasty and a great way to start off our dinner. All the food we tried, from the special elk medallion appetizer, to the pork shank entree I ordered, to the Penne Roberto pasta dish my wife decided on, were all well thought out dishes with many levels of flavor. The portions were very generous as well, a lot of bang for your buck with the dinner menu items . A complimentary dish or sorbet ( or gelato, I can't quite remember), was served to us after dinner, while we contemplated dessert and after dinner drinks. The service the entire night was spot on as the timing for everything we ordered was perfect. It didn't feel like we were rushed, nor did it feel like they forgot about us, but they also let us enjoy the evening together.
We go to Breckenridge every couple years, but had never tried Blue River Bistro before. It's now on our list of "must-go" places whenever we are there. I would recommend it whether it is just for a quick happy hour cocktail and bite to eat, or for a special occasion night, such as the one we celebrated.
Three of us ate at this restaurant on a Thursday night....I would recommend a reservation. The restaurant is on the smaller side & popular. We tried the kale & beet salad, both were excellent! We also had the halibut special, salmon & tomato soup...all again excellent. We were too full for dessert. Would definitely recommend this restaurant & look forward to visiting again. Our waiter Jason was friendly & attentive.
Selected Blue River Bistro for our last night dinner in Breckenridge. Service was very attentive without being obtrusive. Waiter was friendly, engaging and a real pro. Kept our wine glasses filled throughout the meal. Excellent choices on the menu. We had short ribs and the pork shank. Both meals were great. We will definitely make Blue River Bistro a regular stop.
Firstly I have to give 5 stars to Blue River Bistro for being willing to look up a gift card I'd received for Christmas and forgotten back in MD. They were able to find/replace it. Then the meal and service were fantastic. The only improvement would be to lower the music volume; there was a singer with a nice voice, but table conversation was hard.
