We were seated early or on time in our 2 visits here. The cocktail menu was very good as was the wine list. The nights we were there, all wines on the list were 50% off. The shrimp appetizer was delicious and came with a great sauce. The entrees were very good. The ambiance was casual but nice.
Outstanding cuisine in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Passionate chef, attentive staff. Creative specials and amazing menu items. Highly recommended - one of, if not the best, in Breckenridge.
This is a swanky place. We shared the elk carpaccio, the butter leaf salad and the deconstructed lasagne. We also enjoyed the truffles with the most amazing whipped cream on the planet.
Every dish was Outstanding.
One of our favorite restaurants in Colorado. We have been many times over the past few years and it never disappoints. The Food and ambiance (live music sometimes) are always amazing.
We had a good time. The waitress was really helpful and gave us suggestions when we asked. They had a god wine deal going on as well but we didn’t get any. The food was tasty and for the small town I think it was high end. Prob one of the nicer restaurants in town. I would recommend if you want something fancier in breck. They also said no dress code although it was nicer so you could definitely dress up for dinner. Overall a good experience. The elk carpaccio was my fav.
Great experience. Group appetizers of calamari, snails salad. Pasta, seafood and steak were all well prepared. Sorbet for dessert.
Breck has lots of restaurants. Most are, well, not good at all. This place on the other hand is excellent.
Arrived for a 7:30 pm reservation on a Sunday night. Restaurant was full. Was seared after a short wait. Ordered received salad promptly, and then waited about 20-30 for food. My chicken parmigiana was burnt around the edges and dry. Angel hair pasta was overdone and sauce was bland. My wife ordered Deconstructed Lasagna which was good.
Service as impersonal. Won’t be back.
We enjoyed a lovely happy hour that turned into dinner. There was live music in the background and a wonderful server, Renee, who made our evening a fabulous experience.
Great food, beautiful music, wonderful atmosphere, we will be back next time we are in Breckenridge!
Excellent food and service , our compliments to the Chef and Staff. Will recommend to all our friends that enjoy fine food and service.
Food and service were beyond reproach. Wide variety of fresh farm to table food. Overall an outstanding dining experience. I will go back many times.
Beautiful setting, outstanding brunch and exceptional staff!
We enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Blue River, and everything was delicious. We were surprised by 2 glasses of champagne on the table, in anticipation of our arrival (dinner was a surprise by our children) - food was fantastic, service was fast, wonderful selections, and everything full of flavor.
Can't wait to head back there again!
Service was great for super early dinner diners. Ordered the special which was very good but husband’s order off the menu wasn’t hot and was bland. Overall experience was good and will likely return
Service was excellent. Good selection of dishes. Seems like there is a wide variety of types of dinner you could go with. My party of 5 were all really happy.
So one thing I would like to see on the dessert menu is something fruity ....apple pie, peach crumble...something like that.
Not the same restaurant that it was 10 years ago. Food is bland with no taste. It seems they doubled the seating capacity. It is so loud you cannot carry on a conversation with the person across the table. Unfortunate.
Awesome food and awesome service. You don't want to miss it.
Great place, went here for our anniversary and it was fantastic.
Excellent food, very good service, nice setting, noise level oscillates.
Always excellent food and service. Very nice and relaxing dinner experience with exceptional service, food and drink choices. Looking forward to our next visit here.
We loved the atmosphere, however we set at our table for 15 minutes before we even met our server, and ordered drinks. Another 10 minutes to receive them. The food was great, a little high priced for what you get, but it was very tasty!
Great service by Emily and excellent food.
The ambiance and service were both outstanding. We had a trainee (Carl) and Ginger was training him. They both were great. We also had a wonderful table in a corner away from the music and crowd. However, we all loved the music. It was perfect for dinner and not intrusive.
Unfortunately, the food didn't meet up to expectations. One person had the bass and she said the texture wasn't good and she should had sent it back to the kitchen but she didn't.
I had the Chicken Parmesian and the chicken was great but the spaghetti had too much sauce on it!
The other entries were fine but nothing outstanding (paella and chicken marsala).
Blue River Bistro is consistent with their stellar service and inventive specials. We take out of town guests to Blue River bc they don’t disappoint.
Very nice, but it was warm in the building
Excellent..... Blue River Bistro is one of our favs and a must everytime we visit Breckenridge...
Love The Blue River Cafe welcoming ,fun, energetic happy hour that leads into a fabulous dinner. Great service ,knowledgeable waitress. Scallops to die for. Will be back again and again
Great place as always to meet friends and enjoy the incredible food.
The first impression was not positive. We had a reservation and the table wasn’t ready, so we had a drink at the bar. The mirrors behind the liquor shelves were spotted and dirty ....looks liked they haven’t been cleaned in awhile. Makes you wonder how clean the glasses are! The bartender was nice and drinks were ok though....just grossed me out looking at stains on the mirrors in front of us. Tables are crowded together. Service was ok but when another couple sat next to us our waiter told them about the specials.....he never bothered to tell us and we had already ordered from the menu. Food mediocre at best. They did provide us with a lot of water though since we just arrived today from sea level. Not impressed!
Cute restaurant on Main Street. Server was great and the ambiance was nice. The noise level was high, but our group didn’t mind. We had the crispy shrimp and escargot as appetizers. They were both good, not outstanding. Also ordered bread and butter for the table which wasn’t complimentary. The bread arrived and was literally three rolls that looked/tasted like they came from a grocery store bakery. One would think that a restaurant of this caliber would have homemade bread/rolls. A small thing- but annoying. Our group of six had a variety of entrees- all were good, but nothing extraordinary.
The food was delicious as usual. The service was outstanding. One of our go to places in Breck. Their Happy Hour is amazing and their dinners some of the best in the area. The only issue is it can get crowded so plan ahead, get there early or make a reservation.
Everthing was amazing. Charred shishito peppers to start. Keema with salmon for entree. Delicious. Great cocktails too. Will definitely come back the next visit to Breck!
the special appetizer pork tenderloin was very creative it easily serves two. The chicken entree had original flavors & my husband gave it a solid “A”. Don’t think twice - just order the Prosecco lemon sorbet for dessert - unusual, beyond tasty & even served with a metal straw. And of course the music by Mark Schlaefter makes everything even that much more enjoyable. The only less than top notch aspect was our server - she seemed new & unsure of herself.
Great atmosphere, excellent food and fantastic service from Pat. Thanks for a great anniversary dinner!
Food was mediocre at best for a relatively higher price point for this type restaurant - seems to be a bar type of restaurant. Hostess was somewhat nice - but really not very interested in even trying to accommodate our request.
I've eaten here before and found it much better than my last visit, so it very well could be they were having a bad day. I ordered the $30 "special" seafood etuffee which had three measly shrimp swimming in an ocean of rice so overcooked and bland it had the consistency of mashed potatoes, no rice grains distinguishable. Our second bottle of white wine was served warm, at room temp, in an empty ice bucket. When I asked that some ice be added to the bucket the waitperson didn't seem to grok that warm white wine is a bummer, compared to chilled at least. On a positive note, my dinner companions thought the stripped bass was excellent and cooked to perfection.
Great dinner celebrating two birthdays.
Always a must when visiting Breckenridge. Well established restaurant, with good food, and a great staff. Fun cocktails.
One of our favorite go to restaurants in Breckenridge. Always great, try a sidecar and the peppers. Usually they are the first things we order while we look at the menu!
