Blue Ridge Ratings and Reviews
We met for a weekend Girls Trip in Asheville to celebrate the 80th birthday of our mom and our aunt, her twin sister. We wanted to see Biltmore House for Christmas and see the local sights. Grove Park Inn is a wonderful old historic hotel, so we decided to have dinner there to experience the inn and to see the gorgeous mountain views. We were not disappointed! We were there for the Prime Rib Buffet, but it was so much more. The food was fabulous— every single bite. And, the hotel is just as spectacular and unique as we expected.
We felt immediately welcomed and the hostess and maitre'd were very personable. This continued with the walk to our table with another hostess who answered questions about the Inn as she brought us to our table. Beautiful view from our window table. Mr. Robert our waiter was attentive but not over-present.
And oh my! From the gorgeous aromas from the risotto station to the lovely desserts were over the top. Dinner here was the height of our trip to Asheville. Thank you.
The desserts were the best part of the buffet. They were great. The salads were also very good. I was disappointed with the main courses. Many of the fish dishes and the vegetables were overseasoned. The vegetable medley had so much pepper in it, it was practically inedible. There was also a coffee crusted steak that just tasted like pepper. I was also surprised that after paying $44 for a buffet, a fountain drink wasn't even included but was another $3.50!
My wife and I visited the Blue Ridge dining room on our 24th wedding anniversary. We had specified we wanted a table by the window to be able to watch the sunset and our table was provided and perfect. The atmosphere was absolutely wonderful. The selection of food was unbelievable! The staff was very accommodating and seemed to work well together. All in all we loved getting to dine and visit . We will return.
Outstanding food enhanced by superb service. Our waiter, Jason, was attentive, efficient, engaging and added greatly to the evenings experience. The Grove Park Inn is not to be missed if you are in Asheville and the Blue Ridge dining room is a gem. Come hungry.
We enjoyed another great dinner at the Blue Ridge Dining room. Our reservations made through Open Table were done perfectly, down to the request for the window seating and a welcome that included "Happy Birthday" to my wife to mark the occasion. Highly recommend both restaurant and Open Table!
Very below average food for the atmosphere and price point. As an industry professional I understood going to a "fine dining" buffet was risky... but catering and event-style food can absolutely be executed on a higher level than Blue Ridge. The whole thing is a facade. Grade A sham.
We were staying at Grovepark for our anniversary. The other restaurants were a bit limited on the menu choices for my picky eating husband! The Saturday night prime rib buffet was PERFECT! There was a HUGE selection and everything was fresh. Our waitress was delightful and our view was spectacular. We would HIGHLY recommend Blue Ridge!
The ambience is FANTASTIC and since we were celebrating our anniversary it couldn't be better. The service is always outstanding and the view of the mountains at sunset was spectacular!! Roaming around the hotel is always a joy and you always end up seeing something you hadn't the first time. We will be back when family comes to visit! Thanks Blue Ridge!!
Was surprised to see my parking bill of $10 on exit, after a $100 night out for two. Diners should receive free parking at a restaurant which offers parking.
Also, the restaurant is way too loud - can't have a conversation without yelling - needs some engineering - noise baffling - in an otherwise good looking room.
This was our 10 year anniversary so it was a special event for us.
The food was phenomenal and service was exceptional !!
Stan brought out a specially chocolate decorated "Happy Anniversary" Plate with macaroons !!!
This was in our opinion, a very kind and thoughtful act. Thank you Stan!!
The entire staff were kind, helpful and considerate.
11 out of 10 rating!!! would recommend to all !!!!
The food left me frustrated. The hot side dishes were undercooked (Brussel sprouts, collards)
The Chicken was simply bad. The presentation of the salad and the soups was poor. Quite
frankly, I expected more for the price and the location...disappointing. My husband did enjoy
the crab legs and the prime rib.
This meal at Blue Ridge was fabulous. It is a buffet with everything you could anticipate wanting. Crab legs, oysters on the 1/2 shell, salads, boiled shrimp, roasted vegetables, breads, prime rib, and. Desserts that almost made you wish you had eaten less earlier. Everything was fresh and appealing to the eye as well as the palate. Our waiter was perfect. He was attentive without being overly so. It was one of the best meals I have ever eaten!
Our 4th time to drive 5 hours from Raleigh to have a special meal here. We tried out the seafood buffet this time and it was grand. Had a wonderful waiter, Jonathan, and recommend him to everyone. When he found out we had come for my birthday he brought the special plate with mascarpone & birthday wishes on it. We had a great view, as my husband had requested. We had our 50th wedding anniversary there in August and the catering folks worked well with us, as well as the service being amazing. Our party of 16 was truly awed by the dining experience.
Brought a friend who had never been to Grove Park Inn. He certainly was wowed by the place and we all enjoyed the buffet. It is huge and the food was all delicious. We will definitely bring folks here again. The views, of course, are lovely. Service was great. Very nice evening!
We went to the Saturday "Prime Rib Buffet". All of the food was great until we got to the prime rib. The prime rib was very lean, not marbled at all and thus very dry even for a medium cooked piece. And not tender for the same reason. Big disappointment. Lots of variety for the rest of the buffet.
Great service, food and a beautiful view. A 5 star experience in every sense. Everything was done to perfection. Nicest view of any restaurant I've ever dined at and the best food and service I've had. Will diffently be a repeat customer and highly recommend to anyone in search of a excellent meal with great service and at a reasonable price.
