Amazing setting and view. Service generally excellent.
Food was poor and bland in flavor. Needed some seasoning.
Cheese stale and sweating.
Roast Beef, gravy and vegetables cold.
Mac n Cheese bland
Despite wearing gloves, server should not use this hands to put roast beef slices on the plate.
We expected excellent quality and we were extremely disappointed
Warren, thank you for your continued patronage. Please accept our sincerest apologies for a less than world-class experience. We have shared your notes with our Blue Ridge Chef with the goal of improving our offerings in the future. We look forward to serving you again soon so we may show you the dining experience for which we are truly known.
The food and choice was great. A bit pricey for a buffet style meal.
The food was delicious, but if you’ve dined there pre-Covid, don’t expect as much variety in the choices. There is probably 1/3 amount of the food, however, the price was the same.
Beautiful place, food was delicious! Desserts: A-M-A-ZING!!
The Friday night seafood selection was unbelievable fresh and the service was top notch. I am not one to go to buffets, but this was one of the best buffets that I have ever been to! Definitively a must when visiting the Grove Park Inn.
Wait staff was inattentive and were not very friendly. We had a 8:45 reservation and it seemed everybody just wanted us to hurry up.
We appreciate observations from your recent dining experience. We sincerely apologize you felt rushed and did not receive the customer service we are known for. Our guests' dining experience is our top priority, and we've shared your review with our Food and Beverage Team to help improve our services in the future. We hope you will dine with us again soon.
It was our 10th anniversary and they went above and beyond to make it extra special. We would’ve not known it was a buffet restaurant
We usually really enjoy the Blue Ridge Buffets!!! Food quality was not up to par and the variety was not what it usually is. The quality of the food does not meet the price tag the Grove Park is asking!!!
Thank you for your continued patronage to our restaurant. We sincerely apologize your most recent visit was disappointing. Our guest experience is of the highest priority, and we will share your feedback with the Food and Beverage Management Team to help better our operations. We hope to welcome you back soon.
Very loud and way too much for the quality of the food. Had to sit next to a couple who spent the entire evening on their phone on speakerphone. Service was ok at best. Would. It go back to this restaurant or the grove park
Joey, we sincerely apologize your dining experience did not meet your expectations. Should you choose to dine with us again, we have shared your comments with Food and Beverage Management Team in an effort to improve our guest experience. Thank you.
Seafood buffet was tasty but maybe not worth $48. Safe food handling with attendants was expected but when I ask for hush puppies, he gave me TWO. I’m all for portion control but with such a moderate buffet price I expect more than two hush puppies on my plate. Wait staff was pleasant. Food tasted wonderful, especially the risotto and vegan pecan pie!
It was just okay. The view outside was gorgeous but it was hard to look pass the dirty windows. The food was just okay. There was a lot of variety but some of the dishes lacked flavor. It wasn’t bad but I don’t have to go again.
The food was really of poor quality, cold, tasteless and lacking in variety. The restaurant was a buffet but likely the worst I’ve experienced. Two adults and two children and $170 bill after parking.
Had to take my spouse somewhere else to eat after this dinner because she took one look and decided not to eat there.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We apologize that our Blue Ridge restaurant did not meet your expectations. We have shared your review with our Food and Beverage Management Team with the goal of improving our quality. We hope you will dine with us again and we show you the dining experience we are truly known for.
Everything was nicely prepared and fresh-lots of Deep fried items and we were hoping for more fresh - but still very nice and great service. Save room for dessert.
We were disappointed in Blue Ridge. Lots of choices but the quality of the dishes was so so. Servers were friendly. Ambience was vacant. Too expensive.
We appreciate your comments regarding our Blue Ridge restaurant. We are very happy you found our waitstaff friendly, however; we do apologize that you felt the food selection lacking. All previous options are available – however, the presentation is different given the CDC regulations. We hope you will allow us to serve you again in the future.
Jose was an excellent server - the setting of the restaurant is delightful, as you look out over the mountains...
The seafood buffet was nice - didn’t go away hungry 😋
The Friday night Seafood Buffet was amazing. The crab legs were the perfect temperature to crack and be rewarded with the decadent meat to dip in drawn butter. Couldn’t ask for any better service than Keisha provided. She did a wonderful job anticipating our every need from warm towels for cleaning our hands, topping off our beverages, etc..... Thanks to the staff and Keisha for a a terrific evening at the Grove Park Inn!!!!!
Buffet. So I shouldn’t have to say more. Food was very good
Our waiter, Stan, was phenomenal. The food was great. Less options since their traditional buffet can’t be an option currently but that’s nothing they can control. Still a great meal
Food quality was poor and overpriced. Used to be one of our favorite family experiences. Service was slow. Very slow! At these prices of $48.00/ person I expected something special. Very disappointed! Not the normal for The Grove Park Inn, but no one cared.
It was great.
The Blue Ridge Dining Room never disappoints! The food and service are always excellent. This is the first time we have dined there since the Covid19 restrictions were put into place and even though it was different, it was obvious that the restaurant had taken the guidelines seriously, without sacrificing quality.
The servers and managers did a wonderful job protecting patrons during COVID. People loved the crab legs! Saw plate fulls.
I wish there were a few more healthy options. More salads on the buffet? Varieties of cheeses. I liked the Ramen bar.
The floor, table and chairs are very basic. A little of a cafeteria feel. The view is gorgeous though.
Best part was the desert and salad. Seafood was poor at best. It was cold and dried out.
I ate here last year at the fabulous seafood buffet where everything was outstanding. Now I realize this Pandemic has required a lot of changes,BUT here are the changes I feel must be made to make the experience a whole lot better.
Give everyone a preprinted list of everything at each station.Withfoods covered up so much it was hard to see what was available. With just one sign on each item I could not plan on what I wanted to eat.I missed several items that I would have liked but was too full to eat them by the time I saw them go by on some other diners plate.
For a seafood night...pork sliders..spareribs...lo mein noodles did not seem appropriate for the $48.00 per person dinner.
Blue Ridge is located in a beautiful hotel. The service is Buffet, salad was great fried shrimp cold, desserts amazing
The food was delicious and the view was amazing! I highly recommend it!
The Grove Park Inn did a good job of serving food, were very helpful and friendly
and the service at the table bringing drinks and taking away plates is always done
well. We like to go to The Grove Park Inn for special events, the tables were spaced
so we were not sitting right next to anyone so that gave us a level of security and
everyone wore their masks.
The servers at the stations were good. They were pleasant. Our server seemed to back away from us, as if she were somewhat afraid, even though we were wearing proper masks. The view from our table was lovely. One of our drinks was wrong, but exchanged fairly quickly. However, the food was terrible. It was dried out, lukewarm at best, and BLAND. Even the desserts were SO bland. My companion commented at end of meal that “It was as if half my tastebuds had been removed.” I agreed. I know it is a buffet and I know this is Covid era, but, it was so not good. It was terribly overpriced and guests were loud and disruptive. (We have been there when the atmosphere was so calm and serene that we were able to witness someone at the table next to us get down on one knee, in front of extended family and propose to his girlfriend. This was NOT that) Poor value. Big disappointment. We will not be making a reservation there again.
I would rather pay more to have higher quality seafood. The fried seafood, crab cakes, etc. were not good, and not even hot, mostly inedible. Skip the fried section., The oysters were fine even though the server could not tell me where they were from or what they were, i.e. Bluepoints? Louisiana? Florida? no clue, shrimp fine, the snow crab legs were fine but a lot of work, the best section was the Japanese selection. Overall I was disappointed. I would have been happy to pay twice the price or an upcharge, for better quality with some Lobster, some King Crab, some West Coast Oysters, some real crab cakes that are mostly lump crab, not a hunk of fried bread, etc. This is more about quantity over quality, not for me.
The new Blue Ridge (COVID era) is lacking in many ways to the previous version. While I am thankful that they are open for business, the experience is diminished. The food choices are less than half what they were before, or so it seems. We will likely wait to go again after the restrictions ease, because despite the lack of food choices, the price had definitely not lessened.
The food was awesome and the service second to none !
This is one of the greatest places to share with the people you love !!
Good experience. Seafood was not as good as in the past. Could be due to getting it during Co-Vid.
Everything was with bacon including Mac&cheese. Not much options. Vegetables served cold. Beef wad chewy. The reatsurant was cold. No proper social distancing. Restaurant was crowded. The glass of wine was $20 when the whole bottle was sold for $40 next door. Only good thing was the view, however how can you enjoy if food is not good. I try to eat because I did not want to leave the restaurant hungry. Never again.:(
Our servers were wonderful, they tried to make the most of our dining experience. Our complaint was that the food was just ok. We went on prime rib night, and the prime rib was good, but everything else was nothing we would return for. We love the GPI, but will be choosing the other venues for dinner. (We did enjoy a fantastic breakfast here about a month ago.)
I always enjoy the Blue Ridge Cafe. Pleasantly surprised by the variety of food items since it was not a typical buffet. Everyone was pleasant although the person assigned to our table was more talk than service orientated.
Overall, a great experience as usual.
The online reviews weren't accurate. Everything was wonderful from the time we walked in until we left. The staff was great, the food was great, and the price was acceptable. We liked the current serving stations better with the staff serving the dishes. We had a great table and everything couldn't have been more perfect for my wife's birthday.
Advertised as seafood stations but no fish offered. Only shrimp, crab legs, mussels and crab cakes. I was looking forward to having at least one type of fish but expecting to have choices.
Breathtaking resort. Excellent service and delicious food! Definitely recommend!
