The Blue Ridge buffet was amazing and had a large variety of both cold and hot foods. I personally loved the shrimp cocktail and fresh salads. The pastry assortment was plentiful and scrumptious. I will definitely come back.
The food variety was good and appealing. The view was great. Our server Kari was wonderful!
We thank you for sharing your kind words towards Kari, the food, and the view. We also apologize if there were any areas deserving of 3-stars and sincerely hope you will choose to dine with us again for the positives.
All was great!
Birthday for wife
Thank you for visiting Blue Ridge, and may we wish your wife a very happy birthday! We sincerely apologize if your dining experience fell short of expectations in any way and hope you will choose to celebrate future special occasions with us.
We have been coming to the Blue Ridge holiday buffet for years! Food was amazing and the risotto was the best I’ve ever had. My only suggestion is the desserts. I feel like they could “up their game” a bit in this department.
Last year my husband and I came for dinner. We arrived early and had a few drinks at the bar located in the main lobby. I had the BEST hot buttered rum drink. It was amazing. This year we arrived early for our dinner reservations in hopes of repeating the wonderful drinks we had last year. We were most disappointed to learn that the Hot Buttered Rum drink was not available. Please bring it back for the holiday season.
One of the best buffet meals we have ever experienced.
I thought everything was great. A bit noisy, but not overhwelming. Just very popular and full on a Saturday in December.
Thank you for your observations. The holiday season is one of our busiest times of the year, and we apologize that this impacted your dining experience. We hope you will give us another opportunity to show you the true guest experience we strive to provide daily.
It was a nice ambiance but the food was sub par for the price. I feel like every year the food gets worse
Food was good if you like Seafood. My hubs likes Seafood. I do not. There isn't much choice if you don't like Seafood. The tables a PACKED in the dining room and the noise is loud. There are TONS of people. Very busy. Not.a romantic place. Service was OK. Never got our water refilled. Just know you will wait in lines for everything. $45 a person as well.
I had heard rave reviews of the Friday night Seafood Buffet from friends. It did not live up to the billing though the place was packed. I am not a fan of buffets but for the price expected more. Lots of food but much of it was not hot. Crab legs were a high point but other items just were not good. Good dessert bar.
We try and go several times a year as a special treat for my husband and myself. The parking fee was a little high. We probably would not go again when parking fees are in affect.
Thank you for being a patron of The Inn. We appreciate that you enjoy dining at Blue Ridge several times a year, and wanted to share with you that the proceeds from our Holiday Parking support several local not-for-profits and has raised over $430,000 since its inception in 2013. We apologize that this caught you off guard and hope you will join us again knowing that the Holiday Parking fees go to support local organizations that make a significant difference in our community.
Our annual Christmas tradition includes coming to this restaurant in December for the Friday night seafood buffet. There was a great variety of new dishes and way too much to choose from as usual! We really like the creative dishes they come up with and the service is always excellent!
Thank you for joining us another year. To maintain a true farm-to-table dining experience, our chefs carefully craft the Blue Ridge menu based on what is fresh and available in the local markets. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the creativity and variety of Friday's selection, and we look forward to welcoming you back to sample what's new in the future.
We went for lunch during the Christmas season. ONLY a buffet was offered which was not mentioned on the website. While the food was good, it wasn't anything to rave about. It was very overpriced at $40pp. We really enjoyed the views of the mountains.
Thank you for dining at Blue Ridge, and we apologize that the buffet was not to your liking. There are three additional dining venues open during lunch hours this holiday season; EDISON, craft ales + kitchen is our inventive sports bar, The Spa Cafe offers a menu of healthy favorites, and The Marketplace has quick bites for our guests on-the-go. We hope you will choose to return to any one of these restaurants.
Food was very good and excellent choices. For some reason, after we began our meal and although there were many available tables, a family with several small (and unhappy) children was seated right beside us. Our server realized how this would effect our dining experience and moved us to another table. The entire wait staff was professional and attentive. All in all, the entire evening was a wonderful experience.
The restaurant is beautiful. The staff was excellent. The cold foods were good - salads, cheeses, meats, fish, shrimp. The other entrees which should be hot, were warm at best. The beef was so tough the carver could barely carve it, much less cut it on your plate at the table. The vegetables were tasteless. The desserts seemed frozen/thawed, nothing better than you'd get at a grocery store. The one homemade dessert, bread pudding, tasted like plastic and was not edible. All four of us dining, were disappointed with the meal.
Thank you for reaching out. We appreciate that you enjoyed the service, ambiance, and cold entrée displays, however we apologize that the same sentiments did not extend to the hot entrées and desserts. Should you choose to dine with us again, we will share your feedback with the Food & Beverage management team and look forward to showing you an improved experience upon your next visit.
Disappointed this time. Hostess was unfriendly and a bit strange.
Great experience! The food was wonderful, selection was great and the staff were very attentive.
We’re celebrating our anniversary
We enjoyed a wonderful meal. The atmosphere and employees were great as well.
We always enjoy the buffet at Grove Park, whether it be Sunday brunch, Friday night Seafood or Sat prime rib. Always great food and a great atmosphere!! Would highly recommend!
We went to Blue Ridge for the Sunday Brunch Buffet and it was outstanding! The Grove Park Inn (where the restaurant is located) is also beautiful and worth a visit! Favourites for me on the buffet were fresh oysters on the half shell, crab, shrimp and grits, catfish. Service was excellent and mimosas were too! I would definitely return if in Asheville on a Sunday. We
We ate the Saturday night Prime Rib buffet. If you have not done this, it is a must. A wonderful, delicious treat for the senses. EVERYTHING on the salad bar and hot buffet's were great! Beautiful array of desserts. A definite must!
we've all been coming this time of year for past 3 years. Excellent food and decor through Grove Park Inn.
The salads were wonderful. The food excellent as usual but very crowded and noisy and it was quite cold in the restaurant.
We went to Blue Ridge for Thanksgiving dinner. I was impressed by the buffet - lots of options - and also dishes that my 9-year-old child enjoyed. Very nice presentation of the food and a cool photo-op too.
My family and I ate brunch there Saturday, after visiting the Gingerbread House Competition. Truly an exquisite place! The decor is beautiful, roomy and easy to navigate. The view from the restaurant was just amazing. The food... such a wide and varied selection! Whatever your diet, or dietary need, they can accommodate. Gluten free, sugar free, dairy free, but free, they have it all! And it’s all laid out by rooms. The dessert room, the cold room (salads, fruits, eggs benedict station a pancake station, and pastries), the hot room (the hot foods, including an omelet station, hot biscuits and gravy, and a meat carving station).
All of it that we were able to try was delicious and well prepared. We (hopefully) will definitely be back!
Nikki was awesome to work with us on our questions and concerns! Two thumbs up
Unfortunately, the food was very average. We went a number of years ago and it was excellent. Sadly, the quality has greatly declined.
Mandatory stop if you plan to come to Asheville ! Amazing
Nice to go once. We went for the Friday Seafood dinner buffet. Sat promptly at reservation time, pleasant & tentative server who cleared our plates & refilled our water. Would have liked a bottle of wine but most reasonably priced was $45 so we passed. The food presentation & display was amazing but unfortunately the flavor & temperature were both poor. Even the designated hot items were cold & even though the desserts looked amazing, they were dry & flavorless. Next time we go to the Grove Park Inn we will order off the menu and try a different venue.
Disappointed that our table was at the end of a ramp on a buffet night. Constant people moving close to us as they came down the ramp to their tables. They were apologetic, often. Water was spilled on floor behind 3 of us, but server was most apologetic and cleaned most of it up. Then had a new server who gave us a complimentary glass of wine for our "trouble." Evening ended on an upswing as the food was delicious and abundant. Hopefully can get a better table on our next visit to the Blue Ridge. Asked for one near the windows. Tried to secure a specific table when I made the Open Table reservation, but that was not an option. Maybe having 5 in our party caused problems and we were relegated to the ramp. Am beginning to think that going on a buffet night was the real problem. Nobody seemed to be interested in ambience, but rather "grazing" at the buffet bars.
This was the Friday after Thanksgiving Day, the restaurant was packed. Pretty loud, service was slower than normal, but not bad. The food was excellent as usual!
Excellent lunch buffet. Quality and quantity of selections far surpassed our expectations! We were a group of 6 adults ranging from 23 to 71. Everyone was very pleased with the buffet and we left there feeling very satisfied. It was a little on the pricey side for a weekday lunch, but worth it.
Beautiful place with wonderful food and great service
The only two things that redeemed our visit was the excellent service and the breathtaking views. Quality of food and price did not match the service or ambience. The meats were dry, flavorless, and salty. I was also served a cocktail that tasted watered down.
Thank you for celebrating Thanksgiving at Blue Ridge. We are truly touched that you chose to dine with us this holiday season and sincerely apologize that the food was not to your liking. Your feedback has been shared with the Food & Beverage management team, and we hope you will return for our daily offerings in the future.
The food was very plentiful and the quality was very good for buffet style. The service was good as well, but somewhat slow due to the number of people eating.
The views and architecture were excellent.
It was very expensive, but I would still recommend.
Grove Park Inn in Asheville is a legend in the South. I first visited there probably 50 years ago. The Thanksgiving buffet in the Blue Ridge Room was simply spectacular. Beautiful food artfully presented. Make a special trip to Asheville to experience The Grove Park Inn.
Beautiful view from dining room. Food was ok for Thanksgiving. ..not worth $70 per person. Plus, they add a 20% service charge. Service mediocre at best. Would not return as buffets are just not our thing. Hotel was very pretty just overpriced.
Having visited Grove Park years ago, I fell in love with food, ambience etc. This trip was a rude awakening. Couldn't believe mass of human flesh!! Buffet food had obviously sat for long time. Cakes were dry, fish was hard and dry -- I could keep on going. So many people you could not walk down hotel halls comfortably. Such a sad experience for a once great resort. Let's not talk about trying to find parking garage on poorly marked elevator!! What a rip off.
