The Mother’s Day buffet was completely different from the other ones I’ve been to in that you couldn’t serve yourself- people behind plexiglass had to serve you and you could barely converse with them. Also our server wasn’t particularly good and we still had to tip her 20% because it was added to our bill. In the past I’ve had good servers who’ve deserved the tip and I didn’t mind that it was automatically added.
A little jazz would have made the ambiance a 5.
Desserts were pretty but taste was mediocre.
Server was nice but maybe she had too many tables to serve. I felt like we were the table always waiting on her to cater to other tables.
As usual, the Blue Ridge Dining Room at the Grove Park Inn delivers a lovely and responsibly crafted experience. The food was delicious and plentiful as always at this Mother’s Day Brunch buffet. They followed strict safety guidelines, putting us all at ease. The scenery is beyond par. The view of the Blue Ridge Mountains will make you say ‘oh now I get the meaning of the name’!
We could not get a reservation at the View until 9pm so opted to eat here. It was noisy with no ambiance. The food was not memorable. I would recommend for breakfast but not for dinner.
Your service staff did an excellent job - Jose our 'waiter' and Carson his 'assistant' (sorry but I do not what the proper titles are these days.)
I wanted to highlight my observations concerning Carson, who I suspect may still be a student. His work ethic was exemplary; he was hustling the entire time we were there. He was very attentive to our needs, even bringing over a moist hot napkin when I was finishing my crab legs, without my making any request. I enjoyed watching him work.
Have eaten at the Blue Ridge several times and has always been a pleasant and enjoyable experience.
Views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the dining area are fantastic.
The food is excellent, the service is phenomenal.
Beautiful views, fantastic service! Good selection on the buffet, with quality items.
Very good food, and very nice staff. I would have liked a dew more choices (the way it used to be) but I am hoping after Covid things will get back closer to normal.
Absolutely wonderful. Great variety for even picky pescatarian like me. Servers, hostesses, every one exceptionally pleasant, and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed 😉
This was our Mother’s Day dinner with our Mother. The staff was excellent. We had excellent service from our servers. Our lead server was excellent and the two helping him were wonderful. The majority of the food was excellent. The green beans were perfection as were the shrimp, crab legs and oysters. The fried foods were not as good as they were not hot. The Mac and cheese was good but had too much pasta and not enough seafood. The oysters were absolutely delicious and Alan was a delight to talk too while he shucked the oysters. Crab cakes were a little dry but good. The rémoulade was delicious. The only disappointment came from the lack of a dessert selection that matched the rest of the dinner. Dessert was abysmal. The choices were minimal and lackluster. Where was the chocolate? It’s spring, why not fresh fruit and a chocolate fountain? All in all we enjoyed our dinner and experience but there is definitely room for improvement.
This was our first time with new COVID-19 directed serving. Rather than self serve, the stations will be manned and the servers will prepare your plate for you. This will cause some wait time in lines, but it was ok. The food was excellent, as usual.
Keisha B was our server and she was awesome. We would go back again for the seafood buffet, it was fantastic. Would suggest parking in the garage.
My hat is off to the impeccable service, especially to our server Stan. He was so professional and courteous. It made our meal more pleasurable. The breakfast was not what I remember before Covid and I hope that it will return in all its glory when this virus has passed. The Friday night Seafood dinner was just so-So, nothing really special. Again, so much was missing from the old buffet. Overall it was great and I look forward to returning.
The Maitre de, Jeffrey was over-the-top attentive to every detail. Our waiter, Robert seems short handed, as we needed to flag him down if we needed anything. The food was yummy- and so many choices. Great atmosphere & what a perfect brunch spot to celebrate out new home in NC
Food was meh. But the view was beautiful. The service was good:)

We had a table at the window and had a beautiful view. The free mimosa, shrimp, roast beef, biscuits, salad, green beans, French toast, cherry pie, and key lime tart were my favorites from the buffet. So many other foods to choose from. Even my 4 year old grand daughter found lots of food to choose from. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and they gave us a free chocolate cake slice with congratulations on it. Service was spectacular. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Thanks for the return of this Sunday Brunch buffet.
The food was incredible; a really great value for the price. If we lived closer, we'd come here all the time. They did a great job managing COVID issues, too.
Made dinner reservations to celebrate my husband's birthday! The entire staff was amazing! The relaxing atmosphere is perfect, now add in the panoramic views you get with it!! Ahhhmazzing!! Food & drinks were both delicious & well prepared! We definitely go back!!
We arrived with reservations and were seated in a very noisy crowded corner far from the sunset views. We asked for a table with a view and were told we’d have to wait 15 minutes. So we waited and five minutes later were seated but the sun was set.
The food was not interesting nor delicious. Average buffet quality.
The drinks were served and were okay.
Overall we’d never go back or recommend it to people visiting Asheville.
We appreciate your feedback from your recent visit and dining experience. We are very glad to hear you enjoyed your beverages. Food was great, but the Covid restrictions resulted in longer lines and the food stations. Not as much variety as usual but foos was still delicious. Service was excellent as always and cant beat the view
Went for the seafood buffet and it was very disappointing and mediocre. Crab legs were water logged, fried shrimp was cold, fried fish tasteless. Not sure what all the hype was about. Definitely not worth $50 a person. Definitely miss Harrah’s Cherokee casino Sunday buffet dinner. Will not be returning
Very good service, lovely view, excellent salads and desserts, delicious clam chowder and shrimp scampi. We would have liked less fried seafood and more types of seafood creatively prepared (lobster, scallops, for example.)
We booked the Blue Ridge Brunch Buffet, it was nice and very well planned out due to Covid. There were servers at each station and plexiglass shields in front of everything.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. In the past there were cloth table cloths on the tables but during this time of Covid they are not using them. The wood table top
Are nice and easier for the staff to clean and turn. It made the room feel a little more casual with lovely views.
it was a last minute decision, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. we took our time walked through the Inn. it is beautiful with rich body of history. Also walked out side. then headed to blue ridge for brunch. if you are in town, highly recommend to stop by, have a brunch or dinner. the view is spectacular.
A wonderful experience and dinner as always. Love this place and the food is truly amazing. Our server Robert, made the evening even more delightful with his attention to detail and five star service.
Food and professional service were excellent!!!! We will be back!
The food was better than we expected. It was prepared and served well. I don’t like not being served at the table though.
The restaurant description -- and price -- led us to believe that this was pretty upscale. The setting definitely was (we had a table with spectacular views of the mountains), but almost nothing else was. Clientele dress varied from pants-and-heals to faded jeans and tee shirts. Lots of the patrons were shamelessly leveraging the fact that it was "all you can eat." Our waiter, though nice, was slow, and our table condition wasn't touched while we were there, despite supporting crab legs and other messy fare. Although the food was quite good, I would have much preferred the service and attention of a traditional restaurant.
Thank you for you taking the time to provide this valuable feedback. Please accept my sincere apology for the less than enjoyable experience during your stay. I assure you this experience is not characteristic of the high level of quality service and hospitality we strive to maintain. Your comments have been brought to the attention of the Food & Beverage Management for evaluation. We hope you’ll visit us again in the future to provide us with the opportunity to exceed your expectations.
On vacation, always a great place for dining
The seafood was a poor quality oysters and shrimp were tasteless. Crab legs were just Ok but not worth the $48 charge for the meal.
Our reservation was for the Friday night seafood buffet. It was highly recommended to us from a friend that had been there a couple of years ago.
It was TERRIBLE. Nothing like described on their website. Cafeteria style food. It more resembled The Golden Corral commercials that the Omni Grove Inn web. When we asked what the problem was, they just said Covid. Would not recommend it until Covid is completely over and things are back to normal. If that ever happens. Waste of money. The only redeeming part of the night was a really nice female manager who really took care of us.
Thank you for providing us with your feedback. The presentation of the food looks different due to the COVID-19 safety measures, and the buffet is safely served by an associate; not self-serve. However, the menu is very similar as it was pre-COVID. Regardless, we truly apologize your experience was not what you expected. Please know that we’ve shared this feedback with the Director of our Food & Beverage team to take into consideration as we continually evolve services to meet our guests’ needs.
Excellent! Only issue was that we have two vegetarians, and two options we're not marked as having meat in them. Both in the hot breakfast line and it would be super nice to have a potato option that doesn't have meat in it. Overall great experience.
From the time we checked in until the time we checked out everyone was so friendly! And the food was delicious!
This was hard to enjoy with the loud background of the dining room. The crab legs, shrimp and oysters were excellent.
Michele, we are sorry to hear your dining experience fell short during your recent visit and the restaurant's music affected your experience. This is not the standard we aim to meet. We will address these issues with our management team about how to improve our services. We hope you were able to make the most of your visit and that if you do come to our property to dine again, we will exceed your expectations.
Wonderful views. Amazing food with very little wait at each buffet station.
The fresh oysters from Canada were fabulous as was the mac and cheese and dessert offerings. Other than that I think that $46/person is a bit steep for what it was.
