The Best Buffet food I have ever tasted -- a variety of delicious entrees, all very flavorful and cooked as if it were just for you. So many great choices!
Perfect spot for Sunday brunch! The view was just breathtaking and the food was great!
Great meal.. as always.. it is a wonderful evening...
It was very pleasurable eating and able to hear my wife in conversation
Wide variety and selection of foods to chose from with constant replenishment. Dining room is crowded and noisy, there is a constant movement of staff and guests which make relaxed dining impossible. Tables need to be rotated for the next seating so don't expect to linger after dinner.
2nd visit... Just as good as the 1st !!! Will be a tradition when visiting Asheville.
Always enjoy the food....just wish the floors were cleaner.....went early for breakfast....could tell dirty floors were from previous day
Food was good but was not notified of special holiday season parking fee of $20. Would not have gone for dinner if notified of this parking charge. Also the seating area outside the main dining area was too cold.
We dined at the Blue Ridge on seafood night. The food was so good. The salmon was absolutely perfect. So much so that I had seconds. We both eat gluten free and a chef came out and gave a us a tour of the buffets to show us what to avoid. They have begun working on making as many dishes gluten free as possible. In order to avoid cross contamination the chef (not at our request) had a GF dessert tray made up for us. You would not have known they were GF. Everything was fabulous and so pretty. It made us feel like VIPs.
Good selection of seafood ,crab legs raw oysters, shrimp(3 different kinds) cold smoked fish, as well as hot items, crab cakes were a little dry but good flavor, clam chowder was awesome as was the lightly breaded fried shrimp. Very nice section of desserts. Beautiful views of the mountains.
Been here several times and this year’s meal was by far the best ever
Not what it used to be! This restaurant used to be a great place for special occasions, with great service, and delicious food. Sadly, we will not go back after 15 years of dining there regularly. Our service was basically non existent, the food was just ok (and very boring), and the dining room was crowded with large groups of people dressed like they were going to McDonalds (I am not kidding), not a nice restaurant. Apparently, the management has decided to accept large bus groups for the revenue stream, not realizing or not caring, that these large groups of people come storming in like a herd of bulls in a china shop, ruining and cheapening the atmosphere. Long time customers, such as ourselves, will immediately see the difference in both the service and the food, and more than likely will go elsewhere in the future.
Great service and great food!
Every dish throughout the Buffett was amazing. Nothing was made with less attention to detail than anything else. Each item was cooked perfectly and the options catered to everyone. This was a great place celebrate our anniversary. We will definitely be back!!
It was a very nice experience and if you are a visitor a definite must. Grove Park In is BEAUTIFUL. However if you choose the buffet expect the food to be cold and a bit dry. I expect that happens with many buffets. Overall I would recommend it for the ambiance. Service was attentive.
Went for the brunch buffet and to tour the gingerbread houses. Very good experience. Great food and service!
I enjoyed the dining and food, I have had better waitress service, I think $20 parking is a bit extreme just to visit and dine.
I asked for a table in a corner as I had a guest with me that had difficulty with a lot of noise and commotion. I know the Blue Ridge Room can get rather loud. The gals at the reception area had us wait an extra 10 min and were able to give us the perfect table. Thank you for their dedication to making our visit really great. Our waitstaff was also excellent.
As usual the food was awesome especially the prime rib.
One of the best Christmas dinners we have at Blue Ridge. Better than the years before!
Absolutely wonderful food and service. Was part of our Christmas celebration this year and will look forward to the same in the future
Fantastic views and great food. Don't make reservations for a weekend around noon; there's no parking and trying to get in is a madhouse. The Blue Ridge has great food and is a buffet which is $40 per person.
We have gone to the Blue Ridge Room numerius times for special occasions. This time, valet parking had increased to $25+ even for just an hour and half. The food was off, not the usual quality or variety. It took about 30 minutes, halfway through the meal for our glasses of wine to arrive at the table. Overall, the experience was off.
The buffets at the Blue Ridge are nothing short of awesome. Amazing numbers of options and consistently excellent quality of food. Crowds can be tough, and sometimes you have to wait for items to be replenished. But absolutely worth a trip once a year for a special meal.
Breakfast this year was disappointing, though, as they completely eliminated a la carte options. You have to be really hungry for a big breakfast—and the buffet was not as well-maintained as at dinner time. The line for Sunday brunch was ridiculously long. Too bad, as their Eggs Benedict used to be spectacular!
First time there. We loved it. We felt the waitress and the other staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be sure everything was taken care of. It was a Friday night, very busy, and we still felt special. We will take family when they come to town next.
We had the worst service that I have ever had anywhere, the food was just moderately okay and the noise level was extremely uncomfortable for conversation. I would never recommend this buffet to anyone.
Very beautiful and classy place!
The sides were not very good. But the experience was work it.
Love this restaurant in the Grove Park Inn we always dine here when staying at hotel. Always a pleasure!
Best buffet dinner any where!!! An
A great place that we go at least once a year. Friday night is seafood night, Saturday night is prime rib. Three rooms of food buffet style, with: a cold room of salads, cheeses and salamis, and cold seafood; a hot room with cooked entries and sides, and a dessert room. Each room also has a station set up with a server cutting meat, making Bananas Foster, etc. The dining room also features one of the most picturesque views of the Blue Ridge you will find this side of Grandfather Mountain!
A jewel in the Tarheel state that my family drives nearly 3 hours from Virginia to partake in. Warming reservations are advised!
Blue Ridge has upped their game. We haven't visited in a couple of years. It was fresh, updated and delicious.
We have dined here when the Sammons owned the Grove Park Inn. But sadly, the years in the control of a large corporation have dappened our enthusiasm to dine here anymore. Tables are smaller with the idea of seating more diners, but rooms that conveniently provided the large buffet have been moved away from most diners and more seating is in its place. The comfortable lounge is now where the dessert tables are. Some may find it difficult to walk so far to get their meals. The food was mediocre, and not too original. Desserts were a bit dry. Service was attentive.
We loved the Seafood Buffet this year. Everything was delicious. We have been coming for several years and this years food and service was perfection!
Seafood Buffet Friday Night. At the Omni in Asheville NC.
What a smorgasbord of seafood !!! Wow!!! I order
A bottle of wine Berlinger my waiter was Carlos and so attentive always w a smile and was willing to do anything in taking care of our needs as well as advising us on the food. We got the Alaskans King Crab Claws and when we got back to our seats we had drawn butter and cracker to open the claws . The desert table was overload and the bananas foster was amazing . highly recommend this place you will. It be disappointed !!!!
Excellent venue! Wonderful food! Great experience for our family.
My wife and I visited Blue Ridge to celebrate her birthday. We thouroughly enjoyed our visit! Our server, Cammy, was great! She made sure that we had everything and was constantly checking in on us without interrupting our conversation(which I’m sure is a tough balance for a server). I would definitely recommend Blue Ridge!
We have eaten at Blue Ridge on other occasions for Sunday brunch and dinner and had GREAT experiences. This was our first lunch. It was not good. We were seated at a dirty table. We waited a long time for our server to come to our table and then I had to point out the dirty cups, etc. Instead of moving us to a different table, she just “bussed” the table with us there. We waited a long time for our drinks (water and coffee). We went to get food and it was not the quality that we expected. The fish was dry, the vegetables mushy and over cooked, and the desserts were dry. Diners placed their dirty dishes along a back ledge in the room with the main entrees and they stayed there the entire time we were there. Our server did not clear dishes until the end so we had extra dirty dishes—and an overflowing cup of coffee (she filled one too many but never removed it) that kept spilling since the table was not level. We were dismayed since we had bragged to our guests about the quality of the food and the excellent service. We will probably go back and try it one more time—but not for lunch.
Brunch buffet was huge and with great food. Service was informative and attentive.
