Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill - At The Grove
Over priced for amount of food you get and super loud
Great place for Sushi at The Grove! Just be sure to make a reservation!
Good sushi quiet clean
First: I let them know I had a reservation, I had requested not to be seated in between tables. My girlfriend and I had a lot of catching up to do. : ) As I gave my name at the front desk, the young lady said Yes, I have your table ready just as you requested and were immediately seated even though the restaurant was full!!! I'm not easily impressed, but we were impressed. The sushi was fresh and delicious and we are now going to make it our "get go" when we go see a movie, or not. Truly recommend and NO, not getting paid for my review.
Nice place. Nothing to extraordinary though.
The sushi was so small and the quality was not very good. A few months ago, the sushi plate came with nice sized pieces. Things have really gone down hill fast.
Really great food and fun atmosphere at The Grove. Only downside it that we had spotty service (our server would leave us for very long periods of time) and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting.
The food was great, and the restaurant was cute. Only complaint is that the service was lackluster. When ordering an omakase plate, it is traditional for the server to describe what I am eating... This wasn't the case. Went there for a business dinner, so this place was just fine.
Wonderful family experience- great kids menu and options for non sushi eaters
Incredible food and service!
it does not disappoint we eat there often and the staff is super duper friendly
HIgh quality ingredients, creative menu, excellent and friendly service, attractive and comfortable setting.
Good sushi, one of our favorites in NY & we enjoyed the LA outpost
the food and service was excellent. there were multiple servers always checking on us to see if we needed anything. the manager came over at one point to ask what our favorite dish was. he was very courteous. highly recommended restaurant!
LOVED it! We've been several times before, but never for DineLA. We were shocked what a great value it was, given how little they need to discount to be busy. The drinks are delicious, the fried chicken was unbelievable and the oxtail fried rice is our go to favorite. I typically come with my girlfriends because I didn't think light sushi would be filling enough for my husband, but we both left full and happy. Fun tip: Blue Ribbon also has a great happy hour menu!
Very expensive for big group but amazing food and great vibes
Went with a friend for DineLA. Awesome greeter and great service.
My order was brought incorrectly to the table and my friend received no food at all during the meal. We had to leave for a movie so he left without eating.
Blue Ribbon was AWESOME as usual! Can't go wrong!
Management staff was great, everyone there was so pleasant and inviting. Food was amazing and fresh. The only food item that I didn’t particularly care for was the Poke and only because I’m from Hawaii and we invented Poke and the mainland still doesn’t quite get the concept but good efforts. The cut of the fish, the fact that the fish it wasn’t marinated in the sauce/ingredients, and the garnish to fish ratio was overwhelmed on the garnish side is where it lacks in the true nature of what Poke is. However they do every other dish with excellence.
Consistently great food and drinks, so conveniently located at the grove. I appreciate the efficiency of the servers although great service is not as consistent as the food.
As always good was great. The oxtail fried rice is a must each time we go. My only complaint is the table we were given since it was by the four and the water station. I got splashed by water and each time the door opened the cold air blasted us.
Easy with kids but our kids done out well! Great service on a very busy night. Delicious food!
Food was good, not great. Prices, even for L.A., even for a mall restaurant, were high.
Way too loud. Badly designed space amplifies restaurant noise plus overload music makes one have to tell. Didn't the over-noisy fad die...haven't they heard?
Love coming here. Wings are to die for
Complete tourist destination. Quality sucks, service.....they are too busy to cater every table with enough attention.
Way too pricey for that quality. Now sitting outside enjoying the ambience of the fountains priceless!!!
Came here for our anniversary as this restaurant holds nostalgic value for us, however, this past experience was lacking. Waitress could not explain what type of fish would come in the omakase and they switched waitresses without telling us. The 2nd waitress tried to send out our dessert before we got our 2nd course and even after we explained we still had more sushi, dessert was sent out. I was hoping we would get a happy anniversary dessert, but through the whole night no acknowledgement. Kinda sucks for a place we hold dear as a sentiment to our relationship, they do not care. People who come for regular meals will probably be very satisfied, but I wouldn't recommend if you want to celebrate something special
Food was amazing and delicious
and the service was great
I would Recommend highly
Pretty disappointing meal tonight. We’ve been once before and it was great, but tonight’s sushi was not up to standard, except the albacore with onions.
The sweet potato was awesome. The spicy crab and runs sushi was okay. The 6oz steak was grilled to perfection at medium well. The lychee and matcha martinis were good. The 10oz ribeye was ordered well done but it came medium which we didn't appreciate. We took it home and reheated it to well done and it made good sandwiches.
Everything was great, except the actual sushi. That was made quite sloppy, every piece fell apart when we picked it up with our chopsticks.
5 Stars as usual!
Great food, great restaurant. Thank you!
Great sushi with some unique items. Great for happy hour before a movie.
Located in the heart of The Grove, L.A.'s nicest outdoor mall, just next to the musical fountains, is this terrific sushi restaurant. If you sit outside you will have a nice view of the fountains. The inside has comfortable and more intimate booth seating and tables. I tried the fried chicken slider appetizer on crispy rice, which was surprisingly delicious, as were the various maki rolls. Fabulous sushi. They have a great and very varied cocktail menu. I went for dinner, but I noticed a very reasonable afternoon special menu that looks great and I would like to go back and try that, too. It does get very crowded on weekends (but you are all set with a reservation) and it is located in a very popular outdoor mall, so there were some screaming kids seated in strollers at the tables...something you don't normally see in a fine sushi restaurant. But that does mean it is kid friendly! So it's good for the whole family, or a date. The food is good, but it was pretty crowded and service was a bit slow...but the servers do their best, and they really know the menu. The various sashimi carpaccio are super too. The entire menu is diverse and you can order everything from raw uni to oysters to honey fried chicken! Great place to stop in between your shopping spree, after a movie (the cinema is just next door) or to enjoy the sights of The Grove while you eat.
Love the lunch boxes. My kids love the Maki. It's delicious, always fresh. Service is good. Waiters are kind.
Great sushi and great service. The sushi was fresh and melted in your mouth. I would definitely go back.
Slow service on a slow night. Other person’s dogs were a pain.
The non sushi items on the menu are way over priced.
