Mediocre experience at best. 5 tables before us got their food first. Waitress blundered our sides order. Some of the food came out cold. Not worth the money.
Cod dish was amazing!
Very loud and music was not in background. Waiter was excellent. Food choices limited. Oysters were terrific. Whole fish delish but fennel was so bad. Expensive for the type of menu presented. Portions smallish.
Lively spot with a real "neighborhood" feel. Really fresh oysters and a nice variety to choose from. The fried chicken really is amazing and hard to resist eating too much. The kale/quinoa salad was a real surprise, as I have really started to experience kale fatigue--this was different; great ration of kale to quinoa and snappy dressing delivered. Service was very attentive without being too clingy. Will definitely be back for seconds.
Food was great. We had the Raw and Fried oysters which were both great. We frequent Blue Ribbon so we know the food is always great. The service is usually good, but this particular night it took over 20 minutes to get our bottle of wine. Not sure why? Then it took another 25 (yes we timed it) minutes to get our oysters. We were there during happy hour and the waiter told us he would honor the prices of the oysters for all orders (even though we were a couple minutes late) but when we received the bill it was regular price. Overall Blue Ribbon is a good restaurant. To be great you must have consistent food and service.
Service overall was amazing and our waiter could not be more attentive and awesom.
The male manager was amazing. Sorry can’t remember the name, we made reservations for a different amount of ppl than who came and he was very accommodating and easy to talk to... thank you
Food and service was superb. I will definitely go back!
The salads were $12 a piece but they legitimately looked like something you can get at a 24/7 diner in the middle of no where. I’d say they were worth $6 max. The fish was the saving grace but my salmon, which came with mashed potatoes and completely unseasoned asparagus was absolutely not worth the price. The ambiance left little to be desired. It wasn’t horrible but we were seated in the back corner it was slightly depressing. We will probably not be coming back. It was okay overall just not worth the price and nothing else was redeeming. The service was really good though.
Excellent Service, great beer selection and quality food!
Wait service was prompt and attentive. Food was delicious, albeit a bit expensive. Great portions, wine. Would definitely return and recommend to friends.
Great place! The service was pretty good and my meal was delicious. I would definitely recommend it!
I have been coming to this restaurant for many years and always enjoy the food an ambiance whenever I eat here. As usual, very good music and food!
Had the best rack of lamb in many a day along with a delicious and fresh beet and goat cheese salad. My fiancé received a nice cake with a candle too. All in all a nice meal
Ordered friend chicken. Skin was little overdone and meat was very dry. Oysters good
Great food and ambiance! Will definitely go back! The fried chicken is amazing!!!
This was our second time eating here together. Everything was perfect. Food was amazing. Service from the host to the server was amazing. Such a great place to have dinner. Thank you for a great night!
Solid spot, prefer the vibe of soho location, but will be back
Restaurant half empty and we had to look constantly for service. Beer was sour and when returned we were told it was the bottom of the keg and we could wait for a new one — all with few apologies and no recompense offered off the bill. Fortunately the food was very good
I was less than impressed by Blue Ribbon. My party of 4 stood at the front of the restaurant for 10 minutes without being greeted by anyone. I had to seek a manager to get seated. It took 35 minutes to get our first drink...which, by the way, came to the table one at a time. Food was good. Service was lacking. Will not return.
I have eaten here many times and always had top notch meals and service. But this New Year’s Eve there was something off. First I spilled my drink without a taste and they charged me for a replacement. Not cool. Then after appetizers a second server came up to our table saying he was now our waiter. WHAT???? Not cool either. Then I noticed as we were finishing our appetizers the busboy running around with our dinner on his tray looking like a list deer in the headlights. Are you kidding?? I called him over to leave the dinner on the table. I had scallops which were good but such a small portion not worthy of the price. Anyway my fiancé and I were disappointed at our experience and left a little bewildered by what happened to this once fine restaurant
The people who worked there always made sure things were good and the food was great, which it was. They were very accommodating. A bit pricey, worth it for the once in a while dinners.
The food was prepared well, lots of flavor and the salmon arrived properly hot (which is a problem I feel with lots of seafood places) the service was prompt and attentive. The decor/ambiance won't win any awards, but still a good option if looking for seafood.
Wonderful Birthday Dinner. No complaints. Food timing was perfect. I have nothing bad to say. I will go back sooner than later. The oysters were to die for!
Great service and food. Mgr made sure food was too my liking each dish that came out. Friendly environment etc.
We were late and Timothy was super accommodating. The food was fabulous as always and we had a great time. The drinks and wine list is great. Love this place.
will definitely dine here again. we each enjoyed our meal.
Great food and atomsphere. I already recommended the place to someone for great food and service.
The fried chicken was amazing. Very friendly management and staff
It was a wonderful time. I always like to go to this place for a good meal. Fair price point and the service is always great and attentive to the patrons
I went with my husband and another couple and we all really enjoyed our meals. I started with the fried oysters and then had a seafood soup for my entree (which was one of the specials that night) and I thoroughly enjoyed them both. So much so that when the night was done I still had a cup of soup left and I packed it up and took it home. I wanted to enjoy every bit of it. I heated it up the next day on the stove and it was still just as delicious as it was the night before. I would definitely go back to this restaurant to try out some other dishes.
Once again, totally enjoyed the Awesome food and Great service provided by our waitress (Alyssa). I have dined here several times now and have never been disappointed by the food quality and the attentive service. Definitely one of my “ Go to”spots.
The service was terrible. Some of the food we ordered was not good.
Restaurant was full of screaming children.
We ordered the seafood paella and was told it was good for 2 people with a little extra and then later after we finished was told it was suitable for 4 which was annoying because it was expensive.
Probably won’t go back here.
Delish as always but so crazily pricey . It's always tasty and reliable but when it's time to pay there's very often sticker shock.
Been going to Blue Ribbon for a decade and am never disappointed. This is the way a dining experience should be, with the food quality always high and the servers always knowledgable and attentive.
One of the best meals out in a while! We visited the website before deciding where to eat and took a gamble. Great food and fantastic attentive service! If you are in New York City this restaurant is amust!
I had heard quite a lot about Blue Ribbon Brasserie over the years - all great reviews, so maybe I was expecting too much. It was my husband's 50th birthday and we wanted to celebrate with a great meal. When we arrived, we weren't greeted in a friendly manner - in fact, we weren't greeted at all. We stood around for a few minutes while restaurant staff just walked on by. A young woman finally said that someone would be right with us, then an older woman (who appeared to be a manager or head hostess) walked by brusquely, frowning. We were finally shown to our seats and waited quite a long time for the waiter to come and take our orders (the waiter was very nice though). Food was delivered at different times so we weren't able to begin our meal together. Food on the children's menu was atrocious - ordered the pasta with chicken but pasta came without chicken. By the time someone finally brought my son the (EXTREMELY tasteless & unseasoned) chicken, his pasta was cold. Definitely not what I expected given Blue Ribbon's reputation and especially for the price-point. I will not be returning.
Came here on Saturday night for my birthday dinner with some friends. It was easy making a reservation via OpenTable. Had to add another person to the party and just called the restaurant directly - no issues what so ever. The ambiance is very relaxed. Good for group dinners or date nights. The fried chicken is a MUST here!
The fried chicken is amazing. Appetizers are always perfect and delicious. We get the calamari and the steamed clams. So good! Great service and ambiance. Love this place!
