What Insiders Are Saying
The original Blue Ribbon in Soho, in which you can eat bone marrow, fried chicken, and oysters from a white table cloth at 3am. What a world.
The staff here is the friendliest and the way they handled requests to accommodate food allergies was magnificent!
Excellent food , and amazing concept for late dining.. it’s the best in NYC
I always stop by every time I visit .
Trendy spot in Soho, small but full of energy. Broad menu of appetizers, we loved our fried oysters, matzo ball soup and shrimp dishes, and for mains, our hanger steak, paella (huge portion) and especially the fried chicken, declared to be among the best ever tasted. The noise level reached a loud peak starting about 10, but still a fun place. Excellent and friendly service too, reservations essential for a good slot on a Saturday night.

Can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said, but I had to write a quick review as it deserves the five stars.
Food was very good. Owner/manager was terrific. Took care of getting us coffee and dessert.
We love going to Blue Ribbon. They never disappoint. The skate, the flounder and oysters were all delicious. A nicely chosen wine list accompanies the food. Service was friendly and knowledgeable.
Menu is diverse and everything we had was delicious. Highly recommend the Paella. You won’t be disappointed.
Service was great, we arrived earlier than our reservation time and were seated immediately. Waiter was prompt and informative the entire time. Food was amazing, more than worth the money. My only compliant is that the restaurant does feel a bit cramped but I don't really blame them for that, as I'm sure real estate in the area is not cheap. Overall, 5/5 experience!
Fun and energetic crowd. I read a review that said, "this place isn't the best restaurant in town, but it is at 3am!" That's a great way to describe it. Good menu & food, fantastic staff & fun people watching...especially at 3am!
Still my favorite restaurant in NYC after 18 years of traveling multiple times a year to NYC.
Best service and amazing food. Love this place.
We had an impromptu dinner mid week and were dazzled by the soft shelled crab appetizer. We rounded out the meal with fried oysters and New Orleans shrimp and a watercress salad. All excellent! And the service was stellar as usual.
Recommended by a friend who travels to New York regularly to visit his sister. Everything we wanted: buzzy atmosphere, friendly but not intrusive service, fabulous food & drink, and the feeling that you have to have been told about the Blue Ribbon Sullivan St to go there. My wife's first time in New York and this was our first meal out on our first night in the city (and our first night away together since the birth of our 18 month old boy) - fitted the bill perfectly.
Blue Ribbon is as good as it ever was. The staff is hospitable and very knowledgeable and the food is unfussy, flavorful perfection.
Excellent from first to last. Friendly bar service and maitre d’ held our table for our guest who was late from the airport. The food is always of the very best quality—interesting, perfectly prepared and the service is attentive and responsive never overbearing. Our friend was Norway was also very impressed. One of my favorite spots in the world. First quality food in a warm not stuffy atmosphere.
Great experience try the fried oysters and chicken they are delicious!
My only complaint is that in an almost empty dining room, parties were seated on either side of us by the time our meal was through. We might have stayed for more but decided to have dessert elsewhere.
We had fried oysters app, paella and fried chicken. All 3 were the best I’ve had anywhere.
I went with relatives from California and my 14 year old twins. Everyone found what they liked and enjoyed it. Six went with fish and sea food and my son (the tough one to please and picky) went with a burger prepared the way he liked it. Also went because a friend of ours in Israel Yaniv Mor comes every year with his friends when he is in town.
I had very high hopes having read several reviews, and our experience was a little below the high expectations. The restaurant's neighborhood is always great, and I had probably walked by this restaurant time and time again and hadn't noticed it. Inside, the bar is very attractive and the dining room is as well. The service was really great as well. The food we had was good, but short of great. Nothing really memorable or imaginative. But good. Given the choices in the neighborhood, I'm likely to try others before coming back.
One of the best.
Awesome place to go as a single dinner. Sat at the bar and enjoyed fun conversation with the bartender and other customers. Delicious!!!
Great late night spot, good atmosphere, food and drinks.
We had a really lovely time at Blue Ribbon - the food was tasty and flavoursome. We shared a bottle of the least expensive white wine, and it was really delicious! Our waiter was lovely and made us feel very welcome. They even provided a cute little ball of sorbet to congratulate us on our wedding.
Outstanding all around—service is impeccable! Food is sublime, consistently prepared and always comforting!
One of the best in NYC
Always a great time ! Always consistent and delicious!
Great! The crew and food were rad. Everyone was super nice and responsive.
Excellent evening at Blue Ribbon Brasserie
What a great vibe, food and drinks. I wish it were where I live in the UWS. There’s a reason they’ve been around for 25 years In a brutally competitive city. Check it out
The food and service were amazing. Was there with my son for Mother’s Day and definitely planning on going back.
Amazing i would go here everyday of the week if i could! 😎
My lobster was amazing and so was the banana split
BRB never fails to disappoint, other than not being able to get a table! Great food, drinks, wine and service without any pretense. Diverse and eclectic menu but not so large that it lacks soul. As a New Orleanian the seafood - both raw and cooked - is legit, but so is everything else on the menu.
We dined early and the restaurant was quiet. Our food—warm goat cheese salad and salmon—was very good, as was the wine we ordered. The wait staff was excellent.
Old school dining wonderfulness. There is a reason Chefs come here after their shift is up. It's small and old and wonderful. If you ask your server what to eat, they make great recommendations. The oysters are great. The fried chicken is great, get over the price tag. The menu is broad and deep and wonderful. Bone marrow? Wow.
The service is the best. Fast, attentive, and friendly. I don't live in NY, but I get there on business frequently, and I find a way to eat at Blue Ribbon....
It never ever disappoints!
Blue Ribbon never disappoints . They were gracious when I phoned to say we were running late, and warm and welcoming when we arrived. The wine list is good, and the food was honest and tasty. I try to dine there every time that I’m in New York, and have sampled most of the menu so far and there is nothing that I would not order again. I always leave there feeling well satisfied .
exceptional food, excellent menu. great service. a real gem. one of my favorites.
Friendly staff, great food, nice atmosphere. Music too loud and a bit pricey.
