What Insiders Are Saying
The original Blue Ribbon in Soho, in which you can eat bone marrow, fried chicken, and oysters from a white table cloth at 3am. What a world.
My favorite restaurant year after year. To have phenomenal food on a restaurant workers budget makes it that much better!! Bone Marrow is the go to but make sure
you try the remoulade, tartare , and fried oysters. If you wanna keep it light it’s hard to beat the smoked trout salad! ❤️🤘 You guys rock
Very disappointed. We went to blue ribbon in brooklyn and it was amazing. Did not have the same experience here
Wonderful waiter - Will - who made great recommendations about the menu and the wine list. Lively scene at 1:30am - very welcome after checking into hotel near midnight in financial district and finding no restaurants open nor any delivery except pizza. Had oysters on half-shell (Connecticut, Cape Cod, West Coast Kumumoto - with 3 sauces) shrimp remoulade, heirloom tomato salad. Fantastic grapefruit-campari sorbet for dessert.
Having seen this restaurant on CBS Sat. Morning's "The Dish" we seemed to know more about it owners and history than the staff. The food was good but not outstanding.
It was so loud by 7:30 that we could hear each other speak and we were a small group of three in the corner. Too bad because the wait staff was very good and the wine list had variety.
Such a charming atmosphere! Amazing food and service
Nice place to dine. Excellent service and very good dishes. To try
Chose Blue Ribbon due to its location. Had an excellent meal after a drink at the bar. The bartender Brendan was friendly and made me feel at home. The food was prepared perfectly, we were not rushed and I will have another meal at the Blue Ribbon.
Enjoyed everything about this spot except the lack of elbow room. Great food, great staff, great fun.
Always great food, service and comfortable. A New York Tradition
Amazing food, service & drinks.
The sweet breads are a much have!
exceptional food and service, diverse menu, great place in soho
New York City's most venerable and ultimate dining place. Great atmosphere; incredible service and THE BEST FOOD ANYWHERE!
All 4 of us were very happy with the food and service. The restaurant is small, intimate with a good vibe. We’ll return and definitely recommend.
The brasserie served my party of 8 with diligence, fun, and professionalism throughout, which helped us have the celebratory atmosphere in a fine dining experience our group was looking for. The food was excellent and well-portioned, and the restaurant had a great and un-intrusive decor as well. Would go back again for a dinner having similar needs as this last one. Thank you Blue Ribbon Brasserie.
The setting was ugly, the food wasn't special, and it was overpriced. I'm not sure why it is so difficult to get into this restaurant.
Have heard about this place from several people. Finally was able to make the time to get there and it was well worth it. For apps, the table shared the bone marrow, Foie gras terrine and the smoke trout, all were excellent. For the main courses the fried chicken is a must. The pigeon was a nice surprise as it is not on a lot of menus and also delicious. The paella was good but not quite up to the flavors of the other dishes. We also added the grilled shrimp remoulade as a main course. It was fabulous too. Only could find room for one dessert the chocolate Bruno - decadent. Looking forward to our next meal there.
Excellent service, great food,a must visit. The service was excellent and great for a romantic dinner or any special occassion.
We went to Blue Ribbon for my birthday and everything was delicious. Portions were sufficient and food was spicy and delicious! We didn't have room for dessert, but the ice cream with a candle was a nice touch. We will go back as soon as we can!
Superb food and great wine list- great size room and staff are fantastic!!
A nice little restaurant that offered up some great food tastes. An excellent offering of East Coast Oysters was served fast. The restaurant was able to satisfy 4 different individual taste desires as we had offerings with Lobster, New York Strip, Fried Chicken and Duck. The 4 entrees were perfect!
It was such a nice evening at the Blue Ribbon. The service and food was great. There are a lot of restaurants in NYC, but few give a great value for your money with great service.
Really nice place to have a dinner date
Always great, greeted by great girls...always appreciated. Tight tables do not for those who are uneasy but vibe is good and food is too.
Patrick our server, was friendly and kind. Very knowledgeable of all menu items. The Manager David also was very pleasant and made my birthday fun. This place was fabulous. We we treated well by the entire staff, never asking for anything! Dessert was OUTSTANDING!!
Excellent diner and service. Loved the oysters, crab legs and bone Marrow. Very solid New York restaurant. Must try.
A menu with something for nearly everyone, well-executed dishes, and top-notch service in a setting that is both informal and grown up. Nice wine and cocktail list. The bone marrow appetizer that the restaurant is known for lived up to its reputation. The entrees — one of us had the duck and the other had the red trout — did not disappoint. Expertly cooked, flavorful, not overly fussy, and generous portions. And the flourless chocolate cake was rich and more than enough for two people. If we had a minor quibble (and was minor), it would've been with the endive and blue cheese salad — solid but not mind-blowing. It was easy to have a conversation, too — the energy is lively but not shouty. Moderately expensive — the aforementioned dishes plus two glasses of wine each ran us about $175 before tip.
The restaurant is fantastic! Extremely good food and service. Not inexpensive and also not the best meal I've ever had in my life, but a reliable, wonderful comfortable place to eat casually or for special occasions. It's an "oldie and goodie" that is not trendy, overcrowded with tourists where locals can get a reservation and enjoy themselves.
Fried chicken was delicious, and I love that they serve a full menu past 11pm. The whole experience was great!
We were very pleased with our food. Excellent experience overall!
Intimate French bistro in SoHo...I loved my duck with Brussels Sprouts and beets!
Fabulous on all levels. The menu was extensive and unique ..excellent service.
The food was outstanding.A simple dish, fried chicken ,was simple yet perfect. Will be back soon.
The staff here is the friendliest and the way they handled requests to accommodate food allergies was magnificent!
Excellent food , and amazing concept for late dining.. it’s the best in NYC
I always stop by every time I visit .
Trendy spot in Soho, small but full of energy. Broad menu of appetizers, we loved our fried oysters, matzo ball soup and shrimp dishes, and for mains, our hanger steak, paella (huge portion) and especially the fried chicken, declared to be among the best ever tasted. The noise level reached a loud peak starting about 10, but still a fun place. Excellent and friendly service too, reservations essential for a good slot on a Saturday night.

Can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said, but I had to write a quick review as it deserves the five stars.
Food was very good. Owner/manager was terrific. Took care of getting us coffee and dessert.
We love going to Blue Ribbon. They never disappoint. The skate, the flounder and oysters were all delicious. A nicely chosen wine list accompanies the food. Service was friendly and knowledgeable.
Menu is diverse and everything we had was delicious. Highly recommend the Paella. You won’t be disappointed.
