Blue Pointe Oyster Bar & Seafood Grill - Ft. Myers Ratings and Reviews
We dine at Blue Pointe quite often as love the food. They have the best chef ever! Also the fact Terry comes around to say hi to everyone. She makes you feel special. We have always had great service. The drinks are very good. There is nothing bad about this restaurant.
While our server was top notch, the seafood in the paella was so dried out, it was barely edible. The rice beneath it was nice and tasty. We loved the creative cole slaw and the nice warm rolls. They were out of our first 2 wine choices so se stepped up in price but that was a bit uncomfortable. Would not go back.
Absolutely outstanding service (Dale) with outstanding food! Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and treated us like royalty. The food and drink selection was excellent with an interesting twist that took it to the next level. We would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion and look forward to when we can visit again!
Our lunch here was a most pleasant experience, from the greeting upon arriving, to the delicious food, to the service from Kyle, who obviously enjoys making sure customers are pleased! The only difficulty was trying to decide between all the scrumptious items on the menu.We chose the Grouper Sandwich, crispy coating on the fried version, after the Crab-Stuffed Avocado appetizer, just the right amount of crab filling, then French Toast Bread Pudding for dessert. Although we were quite full from the meal, the latter was so temptingly described by our waiter, we couldn't resist and so glad we didn't! Must go back for another fix!
We had not been to Blue Pointe Oyster Grill since they renovated and were pleasantly surprised by the changes. Cushy white leather seating and various options for seating...high top /low top tables...booths...ample bar seating as well as a large outdoor patio. We sat at a high top near open doors to the patio so we had both open air and A/C and we also were close to the raw bar. It was interesting watching oysters and stone crabs being prepared. Our server, Paul, was fun, professional, knowledgeable, and always there when we wanted something. We were there to celebrate a birthday (Blue Point has a special birthday deal) and had one of the most memorable meals ever! The cocktails were well made. We had 3 very large and sweet stone crab claws for an appetizer...the mustard sauce was wonderful. The rolls were hot and yummy with butter (which we prefer over the oil & seasonings.) Every dish is served with an interesting cole slaw. I was concerned because it has blue cheese in the dressing but I enjoyed it very much. My husband ordered the King crab legs for his entree along with a side dish called Street corn. The corn was tasty but a bit too spicy to go with seafood. As he began the serious business of eating the large pieces of tender, sweet crab meat he hardly said more than "Mmmmm". He shared a bite with me and I completely agree. I ordered the grilled swordfish with asparagus as the side dish and I delighted in every single bite! Paul had offered a couple of choices such as blackened or mango salsa and tropical rub but the swordfish steak was so fresh, moist, and flavorful I'm glad I ordered it 'plain.' For dessert we tried the French Toast bread pudding with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Oh my goodness.....scrumptious! The entire meal was outstanding!
We won't wait so long to visit Blue Point Oyster Bar & Grill again. Thank you to Paul for his wonderful service and huge kudos to the chef for preparing such awesome food in Southwest FL!
We enjoyed the quiet, knowledgeable and efficient manner of our server, Tim.
One of our friends is a vegetarian but after tasting the appetizers, coconut shrimp and
Grilled Brussels sprouts, he decided to splurge with the Parmesan encrusted sole!
Vegetarianism to the wind. He can’t stop raving about the food! Thanks!
First I made my reservation through open table they did not have my reservation this is the second time this has happened.
I finally got the waiter to check because I did not want to be listed as a no show.
I took my wife there for her Birthday and she wanted calamari and they did not have it. the waiter said they have been out of it since Tuesday and he thought they would have it on Friday.
Not good for the second time there.
Our server, Johnny, was excellent! Attentive but not hovering; friendly with good suggestions; prompt but not rushed service! The meals were delicious: grouper special, Lake Erie Perch, Parmesan crusted Dover sole and grouper salad. Only negative was both this time and previous dinner 10 days earlier, the Parmesan crusted sole was over fried and significantly smaller dinner portions than in the last 10 years.
Grt night to sit outside & njoy xcellent company w my friend over fresh, delicious meals together! Albert our waiter was ! So helpful & fast! Rt on w everything we special ordered & very attentive to us being the only diners outside on the lanai. We love this place & it is always on the top of our list to savor great dood & vibes w friends & family! Thank you Bl Pte!!! B back soon!
Our man ,"J ", was great. He just kept coming and asking what mussel prep we wanted next. The bread kept coming too. It was artisanal bread-rustic and seedy- in a great way. We shared the kale salad which I would pair again for all you can eat mussel night. The kale salad had whole almonds, dried cherries, sautéed shallots and more! Perfect compliment. The sauces were: bacon and beer, coconut curry or blue cheese and wine. We ate 4 bowls- one of each and an extra of blue cheese and white wine. I told all my friends about it and will return to enjoy this offer and see J again.
We have been dining here since it opened maybe 14 years ago. Always consistent and with original staff still there, it tells you it is a place that treats their employees well.
We just had Blue Pointe Oysters, 36 of them and some of their unique coleslaw (blue cheese vinaigrette) and a bottle of excellent New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It was a restaurant celebration of National Oyster Day...who knew this was a thing. Anyway, there are always excellent here.
Albert, our waiter was friendly and excellent as always.
Except for them forgetting my birthday notification, the dinner at Blue Pointe was excellent. A sampler of Eastern oysters alone made the visit worthwhile. The selection of apps and entrees, as well as wines, was vast! My entree of scallops was wonderful, and the fresh baked bread equally so. My wife's mahi adobo-style was completely to her liking, which was a new preparation on the menu. Our server, Jay, was fun, prompt, and informative (despite being a Reds fan) and the GM stopped by to check: always a nice gesture. Prices are moderate but well worth it. We come back every visit to the area and will continue to do so!
Very over rated . Ordered an Old Fashion Cocktail.... got a Manhattan... sent back...got what they called an old fashion that tasted like bourbon and orange juice with a cherry. New England clam chowder tasted like anything but real chowder. The oysters on half she'll were ok but small for Bluepoints. Crab stuffed avocado was very good. Waiter was very inattentive and a smartalec. I will say that the hostess and Manager were very good.
