Blue Pointe Oyster Bar & Seafood Grill - Ft. Myers Ratings and Reviews
First visit here. Very cold night so didn’t want to sit outside so had to wait a bit. Waiter was very good, attentive but not overbearing. Had the Parmesan crusted sole which he recommended. Excellent. He also brought us the blue cheese coleslaw even though we didn’t order it, very nice to try and we liked it. Definitely will come back.
Wonderful find in a dying mall. Patrick, the host was wonderful & our server was Natalie, again wonderful. Oysters were fresh & cold. I had a black grouper sandwich which was seasoned to perfection, grilled & quite large. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant.
We eat here frequently and have never been disappointed. Food is great, raw bar always fresh, and we love dining outside. Service is also very good. What we like best is the diverse menu and a choice of small or large portions. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We had four couples dining prior to a evening show at Barbara B Mann. Food was excellent with a very extensive menu. Service was just okay. Alcoholic beverages were good. It was a bit pricey, but that also depends on your selection. It was pretty crowded, so it was fairly loud. However, you could still hold a conversation with the person next to you or across the table. definitely worth a try.
Service was great; lots of great menu choices. The only things that could have been better:
1. Wine list could be improved. Wine prices were not unreasonable, but most choices were fairly low end wines you can buy at Costco.
2. Outside heaters didn’t work (and it was a chilly night).
But those aren’t deal breakers. Food quality, menu choices and service were great.
We went to Blue Pointe twice within a week while visiting my mother-in-law. The food is very good. Our favorite entreees were the miso glazed sea bass and the lake perch (the latter, prepared with a light batter). The blue cheese cole slaw is a welcome surprise. I am not a fan of cole slaw but it is very tasty (recommend). Also, the corn side dish was a hit at our table. See you in a couple of months when we are back to visit again, Blue Pointe!
We visit Ft. Myers several times a year, and always have dinner at Blue Pointe. It is so consistently good, we always return each time. The selection of fresh seafood is enormous, with select oysters leading the way. Their signature blue cheese cole slaw is a great opener. Our entrees were varied, and each of us loved their choice. Fresh tuna, Chilean Seabass (Asian-style and pan-fried) and grouper were all clean, fresh and terrific. Wines are well priced, and service is perfect. A fun addition is the tablet menu which provides visuals as well as description. We love it!
On vacation in Fort Myers, difficulty finding restaurant as was in a mall. Had the interesting iPad like menus, which I liked but the blue hairs next to us had a struggle. Listed Large Stone Crabs for both appetizers and Entree, only to find out they were out when we ordered them. Said there was a shortage, which is legit...but kept seeing roadside markets. Need to upgrade their supply efforts. Food was ok, service left a lot to be desired. Should have kept our reservation at Capitol Grille in Naples!
Not the destination restaurant it used to be... seafood tower (again as the last two times) floating in melted ice and who wants to crack lobster claws- just do it in the kitchen for goodness sake. Disappointed - and the price has gone up substantially. The quality of the seafood was fresh but it was all soaking wet... this is the last time we'll do a special occasion.
we had seen this place for the last few years while passing through Ft Myers on the way to Miami and finally decided to try it- sorry we waited so long! Food is a cut above mall food and the service was excellent. Their location is not an indication of the quality of the food. This is an excellent seafood place - pay no attention to the hordes of shoppers - you won't go wrong here. fresh fish and oysters and even some interesting sides (how frequently can you say that?) All in all a find- we will be back the next time we are through!
We had the most amazing dinner here. We were in from out of town and Tim, our server, did an amazing job walking us through the menu. Do yourself a favor and get the parmasean crusted sole. One of the best things I’ve ever eaten. We sad outside on the covered patio and had an amazing experience. If we ever go back to Ft Myers we will be heading back to the Blue Oyster.
Usually love this restaurant and would give it a 4 or 5. On this particular night the service was a bit slow. There weren't that many people there so I am thinking they were a little short staffed. Some of our food came out cold. The food is always excellent. Regarding ambiance and noise level, we were seated outside and it was very nice except you are looking out over the mall parking lot and loud cars were in abundance that night. This is not the restaurant's fault. Have been eating here for over 5 years and this is the only time any thing like I have described came up. I would still go back at the drop of a hat.
We have been here a few times and we have never been disappointed. We have always eaten outside which is delightful. We have had a variety of entrees and have not had a bad meal. Last time we went with three other people and we all ordered something different and everyone was pleased. This time we ordered two desserts and five forks and they were delicious.
