Blue Point Grille Ratings and Reviews
First, let me say that I have had 30+ great experiences a t Blue Point. This, however, was not one of them. I was in a party of six, seated quickly,. Good start. Nice wine and appetizers. Great. But then my main course, surf and turf, was served cold. I couldn't ask for a quick fix because we were headed to a Cavs game. The rest of the group was perfect. I'm sure it was an aberration.
This was our second time to visit Blue Pointe Grille. We enjoyed our first trip and was glad to be able to get reservations on short notice this time. The Grille is impeccable - we love the table linens and the atmosphere. The staff was so courteous. They helped us get our cab and checked on us often throughout the evening. We will add it to our plans each time we visit Cleveland! Thank you for such a good time!
This was my first time dining at BPG and didn’t disappoint! The lobster tails were prepared perfectly and tasted naturally sweet. Our server was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations . Can’t wait to get back there!
Even on a night with a blizzard going on outside it was worth the trip. They always seem to be able to fulfill special requests. Fish alway fresh with creative accompaniments. Wine list excellent. The featured wines are a good value and add fun. Generous number of wines by the glass allow experimentation.
Joe, our waiter was casual, informed, professional and added to our enjoyment.
Our favorite Cleveland restaurant within walking distance of downtown hotels, meetings, etc.
Salmon was exceptional, cooked just right, and accompanied by a surprising balsamic drizzle that complimented the fish. I substituted the fried rice for the Brussels sprouts, and that was a good choice as well. The Cakebread Chardonnay was perfect with the fish.
We came to celebrate my birthday, as we do every year, but for the first time everything was not perfect. Our waitress (Rachel), was not as attentive as the waiters/waitresses had been in previous years. I had oysters and lobster tail, my husband had seared scallops and surf & turf and we had told her that my husband wanted to substitute the asparagus with the green beans, and that I wanted the lobster mashed potatoes and the Brussels sprouts as sides. When she told me that my lobster would come with potatoes and asparagus and asked if I still wanted the Brussels sprouts, I told her no, that in that case I was fine with the asparagus. Well, when the meals came we both had green beans (which I hate) and I had also the Brussels sprouts (which would not have been a big deal anyway, I like Brussels sprouts, but since I did not get my asparagus but green beans instead, I was actually glad she had made that mistake, because this way I had at least vegetables I could eat). The lobster mashed potatoes were disappointing as well, as they are normally rich and creamy, but were this time dry and bland. When I had asked her to recommend a wine and told her I liked them "bone dry", she proceeded to tell me and recommend to me what she liked... "a little sweeter"... Really? And here I thought I was the customer and you were supposed to help me get what I want, since I am paying for it. I ended up finding my own wine. Don't get me wrong, Rachel was friendly the entire time, but a little clueless and did not pay attention as I would expect for a restaurant like this. I am also not too fond of her touching me and patting me on the shoulder... We gave her over 20% tip anyway, though I don't think her lack of attention to the customer's wishes made her deserve it entirely. Oh, and we ordered desserts of course, but for the first time ever since we are coming here, we did not also receive a complimentary dessert or drink or even a "happy birthday" wish, after spending ca. $380...
We had a table for 6 on New Years Eve with reservation at 7pm. The hostess were very professional and accommodating as were the servers and our waitress. The food was delicious: Lobster Tail, Salmon, Scallops and Filets. All perfectly done as we ordered. Everything came out together and the food was hot. Our water and drinks were replenished constantly as we dined for over 2 hours. I will definitely be returning to Blue Point!
NYE dinner, food was perfect as always, service was a bit more relaxed than I am usually used to for Blue Point, we are a younger couple so maybe he felt more comfortable being a little lax, but was very nice and he recommended a really great wine. Will be back of course!
Exquisite. Lobster bisque was incredibly smooth and tender. The grilled swordfish, simply prepared, had the most amazing and tasty crust...was recommended by the waiter. I am glad that I went with her suggestion. If you enjoy licorice flavor, the absinthe and its presentation topped off our evening.... we were not expecting the water fountain and sugar cube spoon. Enchanting. Magical with the snow floating outside the floor to ceiling arched windows.
family dinner to celebrate New Years Eve , children in from out of town. EVERYTHING was excellent! Had the Grouper which was outstanding , perfectly prepared. Calamari and crab cake appetizer was exquisite. Taste buds have never been happier! Will go back whenever possible!
Blue Point serves some of the best Lobster Bisque, that coupled with the other superb items on their menu makes this a choice for dining. The service is great and our waiter was friendly and attentive.
If you haven't been to Blue Point, GO! You will not be disappointed.
Terrific Seafood and Steak in the middle of downtown with great views of the city. Walking distance to the Q or theatre. Well trained and attentive Staff. Jason, our Waiter made sure we had everything and checked on us frequently. Even though we were there on a busy night, not much of a wait on our food and it was superb as well. Terrific place for date night or special occasions. So happy with the experience, we will be back!
