Blue Point Grill Ratings and Reviews
I have eaten here regularly but this time my Opah was over cooked and slightly dry. Usually fish is prepared perfectly. Noise level very loud and very cold inside. It was 62 outside which is strange for winter but it was so freezing inside, I couldn’t wait to leave.
The service is incredible because the staff has been there for years. Regardless of which fish you choose, it will be cooked to perfection. Been there a dozen+ times and never sent anything back. Plates come out hot, grilled octupus appetizers comes in a delicious garlic, buttery sauce and sides that are included in price of meal are all yummy (garlic mashed are ridiculous!) You'll be too full for dessert, which is just as well since their desserts are mediocre at best.
As usual, the food was great, especially the oysters on a half shell and the Chilean sea bass. Service was also wonderful, the waitress saw our needs (such as for extra napkins and drink refills) and took care of them before we asked. Pacing of courses was also good.
The restaurant was completely filled with guests, yet service was exceptional and we didn’t have to wait very long for our food. The food was fresh and very tasty- a real treat! I loved the lobster bisque soup and the pistachio encrusted trout. Our waitress, Sam, was very attentive and frequently checked on us to make sure everything was OK. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return soon.
We live in North Jersey and took a ride down to the Blue Point Grill after having the most delicious meal there about 6 months ago. It is by far this freshest Seafood I've ever eaten and is prepared perfectly. The wait staff is very knowledgeable, we trusted the recommendations this time as well as the last time and we're not disappointed. I recommend this to everyone, it is a fantastic restaurant.
We love this place and have probably eaten there over a hundred times in the last seventeen years; in some respects, even with the influx of good new places in town, this may be the most reliably satisfying restaurant in Princeton. All that having been said, we began to notice this time that there is quite a bit of variation in quality among the menu items. We were determined on this occasion to strike out beyond our usual choices, and by and large we regretted it. Our advice is to stick with the raw oysters, with the more simply prepared appetizers, and, absolutely, to focus on those main course dishes that involved the simplest possible preparation. The quality of their fish is impeccable; it's best to order things that are prepared with nothing more ambitious than olive oil, lemon, and capers. Then you'll be guaranteed a good (though not a bargain) meal.
Went to the Blue Point Grill for Christmas Eve. The place was busy and energetic. The service was outstanding. The East Point oysters are DELICIOUS - no shells in the serving. Served ice cold. The grilled Portuguese octopus was grilled to perfection with great flavor. The she-crab soup was a little spicy but not much crab. The lobster pasta with mussels and clams was out of this world flavorful, cooked just right and LOTS of lobster pieces. The shrimp cocktail was ok. Love this restaurant for local and regional fish. Also highly recommend the monk fish. Desserts was plentiful to choose from.
Online photos of food and restaurant are deceptive. As a seafood restaurant all seafood dishes ordered were over cooked and smothered in butter. Do not waste your time dining at Blue Point Grill if your expecting exceptional or even descent food. Very disappointing and will never dine here again!!! HORRIBLE!
Excellent fresh seafood. Fresh oysters the best ever and had simply grilled corvina from s America and asked for extra capers and got exactly what I requested. Brought wine but there's 2 liquor stores adjacent
Have been here previously and will come back many more times
