A great neighborhood restaurant. It is convenient, the food is excellent, the staff very pleasant and the atmosphere is energetic but the noise level is not too loud to interfere with conversation. We haven't eaten at the bar but it seems like a very friendly part of the restaurant.

The receptionist was not polite. When we were overcharged for three takeout items she was not pleasant about voiding my MC. The incorrect charge is still pending on my MC and the new charge has not been added. Therefore, I am not sure the waitress will receive her gratuity. I am sure I will have to go into the restaurant to get it all straightened out.

Went for brunch. Food was good but we wanted to order more drinks and never saw our server again after he dropped food. We also then waited for our check. Service really ruined our experience for our first time in.

I called in the morning to ask for a candle with dessert and it didn’t come so I went to the hostess to give them another chance and she did nothing. I finally asked the waitress directly and she said she was not told and immediately brought out another dessert with a candle.

Service was minimal; food was mediocre at best. Great location, but was disappointed with the experience. Will not return.

Unfortunately a terrible dining experience. The chicken on the salad was not fully cooked, and the mozzarella on the caprese salad was runny and tasteless over not ripe tomatoes. The server was very friendly, but no apology from the managerial staff. A truly disappointing meal.

Food was literally not edible. Sauce that accompanied scallop dish was extremely tart with lemon zest and it overpowered the dish. The spinach contained an overwhelming amount of garlic. The NY strip was tough enough to have been used in cobblers shop. Blue has turned into a bar focused spot, and that is obvious upon entry. We invited a friend from Boston out for the evening, and were utterly embraced by our choice of Blue

The food was excellent as were our Cosmopolitans. However the waitress seemed very anxious for us to leave as soon as possible.

We had not been in a while...we had a reservation on the early side and what a difference it made for noise level! The menu has been updated...as well as the prices. We felt that although the prices had gone up...the meals were worth the price.

I've probably been to this restaurant 4-5 times in the last year, and it never disappoints. The drinks are generous, the service impeccable, and the food is top notch.

Love Blue unfortunately ,we sat 15 minutes with no attention in full view of the hostesses !We were there for Boston Hunger Day other wise would have left. When I spoke to the hostess she tol told me our waitress was also tending bar we were not seated in the bar,we were ina booth in the dining room.We were not asked if we wanted a cocktail neither were our water glasses filled. Server finally came by but the vibe was gone! Food as usual was great but this left a sour taste in the mouth of all five of us. It was not busy when we arrived so no excuse there.Very disappointing and there was never an apology from anyone.

Food was served in a reasonable time, but wife's salad was not dressed and 16 ounce beer looked more like 12 ounces. Service a little slow after food presented as in long time between check-in to see how meals were. Brownie Sundae was mostly whipped cream.

We've had better experiences here.

Blue has consistently good food and very efficient friendly service. Over the years, the place has been reinventing itself. This is one of a handful restaurants in Boston where you don’t have to explain what “rare” is - their burgers are always perfect. That’s what I had. The Vermonter is my favorite burger anywhere. We also had shrimp tacos. They were very good as well. Overall, Blue is a neighborhood treasure with excellent wine selection, great bar scene and tasty food.

A friend who is gluten intolerant was in town. We all had a great meal. He said the burger on a gluten free bun was one of the best he's had. The harvest salad is always yummy. Our waitress was great.

The Mrs and I had a chance to dine without the kids and didn't want to drive into the city. We booked a table for Saturday night and had a really nice meal. We were seated as soon as we arrive 7:40 for a 7:45 pm reservation. The place was packed and yet was not overly loud. Colleen set us up with water, bread and checked in on us while monitoring her many tables. She explained the two size wine glasses for sale and gave us good tips on the menu. We ended up spitting the mussells (awesome broth) a couple of glasses of wine in addition to our entrees. I had the prime rib - very tasty and the Mrs. enjoyed the lamb kabobs. The place started to clear out around 8:30~8:45 after the rush. we declined dessert. would go back again.

My husband and I needed a lighter dinner before an event. Our wonderful server suggested a Cranberry Mule to start that was great- not too sweet. We shared the Tuna Poke appetizer and it was amazing, both the tuna itself and the seaweed salad on the side. We each got salads- the Caprese with Chicken and the Thai Steak Salad. I didn't try the Caprese but my husband said it was delicious. The Thai Steak was perfect- very flavorful, good texture, and spicy without being overwhelming. I haven't ever had a bad meal at Blue, but this one was the best so far.
