I was in Needham for business and searched out Good food in Needham and I found Blue on Highland. My guessed where very happy with my choice. I live in Somerville and will come back in the future.

Blue On Highland is in a convenient location. The parking is ample. The menu is basic gastropub fare for lunch. The portions are on the small side considering the price point.

Menu was fabulous - lots of great choices and variety. I had the salad with shrimp, my dining partner had tacos. They were both terrific! We were there for almost 3 hours just catching up but never felt rushed at all - our server was great! I would definitely recommend and would go back!

We all like the food, shrimp tacos and pepperoni/saussge pizza. Our waitress never brought our seltzers and we had to keep flagging her down for more water. However, we eat here often for lunch and this was the worse waitress...the rest have all been great.

Great Lunch location, iffy on the dining experience

We're n=2 for dining, once a couples night, another with family. Experience has been less-than-meh each time. for our recent family experience, went for dinner with the kiddies (drawn to the kids menu, which in itself is a fantastic price). but apps and entrées were a disappointment, not to mention $$$. Sriracha Shrimp were rather liquidy, SW eggrolls thick and doughy. Mains included Seared Scallops were salty and rubbery yet heavily cooked, but some recovery with a good tasting Pasta Di Mare. Scallops were not worth the $38!.
fairly expensive meal for 2 adults and 2 kids, even including the 2 cocktails (overly olive juice'd dirty martini) and 2 glasses of wine.

We continue to recommend folks to BOH, and we truly like the place- but both dinner experiences have convinced us that we shall return only for lunch, salads and the burgers, at best.

The cocktail list is expansive and amazing. While they have sandwiches/pizzas/salads, this is the perfect place to come to if you are in the mood for a meal as opposed to just a sandwich or something like that. Dining room is nice but because we met an amazing and funny bartender named Junior, we will be sitting at the bar unless we are with a larger group that requires a table.

BonH is a staple when we’re in the area. Really like the lamb kabob on Greek Salad, though I ask to hold the balsamic drizzle (grilled lamb fine enough, why cover all that flavor?). This time I had the steak frites—steak perfectly cooked; upgraded frites to sour cream and chive fries. They toss them in dry ranch dressing seasoning and then comes with sour cream and chive. Bang! Really tasty!

The food was delicious. I had the Pollo con Rabe. The chicken was tender, the flavor was perfection. But the best part of our experience was our server, Lady. She was bubbly and fun, and promised to let us know if we had broccoli in our teeth. There were a couple of large parties around us who were very loud, so that detracted a bit from the experience. But overall, the food was wonderful and the service was spectacular.

Very nice experience. Ample parking in the back. The restaurant was busy and had a lively buzz. The service was friendly and attentive. Food was very good and so were the drinks. We would go again. Food was a little pricey.

The restaurant has two types of chairs that I saw in the dining room: hard metal and comfy padded chairs. We had a Saturday night reservation and we were seated in the small metal chairs. We were not allowed to switch to the multiple open comfy chairs. They have tables with low dividers so you are essentially sitting with other people but with a tiny divider, so you feel like you are seated right next to the kid having a meltdown next to you. We had a $14 guacamole appetizer. It was okay, nothing great. A small amount of chips came with it. I got a chicken caprese salad. It came with light orange/light green tomatoes. The ones you see in the grocery store that are picked before they are ripe. I didn't say anything to the waitress because she kept telling us how much we were going to love the place and I didn't have the heart to ask to substitute my tomatoes! It was okay, certainly not worth the prices and the atmosphere was loud with kids and birthday parties right next to you. No thanks.

Blue on Highland provided a great atmosphere for our small family dinner. We enjoyed the long list of beers and cocktails available and munched on some appetizers to start the evening (Tuna Poke Nachos were a great starter). Each of us ordered a different entree and everyone was pleased with the quality, taste, and portion sizes of the food (Do yourself a favor and get the Braised Short Ribs!). Everything went well and the service was excellent. I'd certainly go back and try some more dishes.

Havent been here in at least 5 years. It was completed renovated. The food was good, the service was okay. Tried to be engaging but she didn't check on us when food arrived. We had to ask for several items a couple of times. So it was just okay.

We had a reservation and the dining room was fairly empty. We were seated in an undesirable place with uncomfortable seats. I asked to sit at a table with soft seats and we were treated poorly, told that the tables (empty) we asked to sit at were reserved - more than an hour later! The tables were not reserved, but the restaurant had reservations for later service and decided to hold the more comfortable seating open for those diners. Against my better judgment, we stayed and dined, with cocktails, and our tab for two came to about $90. Food quality was just fair. I would never return nor would I recommend this restaurant.

We had a nice dinner at Blue, although we were initially disappointed, as the waitress started by telling us that the grill was out of order, so we could not order any meats that needed the grill, and I had really wanted the lamb kabobs. Perhaps the hostess should have told the patrons as we walked in. After rethinking, I ordered a Caesar salad and the mussels; they were both very good and I would return for them! My husband had a Greek salad and the tuna poke. He also enjoyed them; there was so much tuna that he couldn't finish it! It is a lively and rather noisy place, but we enjoyed it.

The food was delicious. There were 4 in our group. We each had something different and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The server was somewhat friendly but very distant. I’m not sure if they were understaffed the evening we went but she wasn’t very attentive. She gave us the bare minimal service and my friends and I aren’t the needy picky types. Even so, we gave her a generous tip. Never asked how our meal was or thanked us. We’ll return and hope we get a more cordial server.

Grand Daughter going back to college fun lunch.Very busy,drinks came quickly order taken. Apps came but long wait for entree brought out by hostess ,server never asked if we needed beverage refills till it’s time to get the bill.She was clearly overwhelmed yet remained pleasant.We still enjoyed ourselves food was yummy!!
