They accommodated our large party of 16 with a beautiful table, but the food choices were lacking and the actual food was fair at best. I ordered the fish and chips- the fries were cold when they came out, everyone's fries were cold; and the fish was greasy with very little taste. My brother ordered a steak, which came out burnt on the outside and too rare on the inside. The manager did offer my brother another steak, which my brother turned down; they took ten dollars off of his bill. The overall service was lacking, though I am certain it was difficult to keep up with all of the needs of a party of 16. My glass was empty for most of my dinner and was never offered a refill. My husband ordered coffee and never got a refill. It seems that the only ones that got refills were the ones drinking alcoholic beverages. This place is overpriced and definitely overrated. We won't be back.
We appreciate the bar staff service and their knowledge of mixing and flavors. Shane-Andrew-Dalton
We really enjoyed Happy Hour. Great service and great food!
our waitress was fantastic!!! We love The Blue Moose. We enjoy having our business meeting/meal at the Blue Moose. We were scheduled to dine on July 21st but our plans changed at the very last minute and we did not inform Blue Moose of our change of plans. We want to take this time to apologize for any inconvenience on the Restaurant's part that this may have caused since we did not make our reserved time/day!
thank you for the wonderful service and experience on July 28!
we will definitely be coming back to enjoy the atmosphere for our next business meal.

Good spot. Good food. Solid choices from their menu. High-end casual restaurant. Would highly recommend it.
Our waiter seemed to be in a hurry. First he brought the wrong glass of wine to the table, he did not supply table with small appetizer plates along with the appetizer we asked another waiter for the plates, did not ask how the steak should be prepared, turned in the order for med rare, but it came to the table well done. The Shrimp & Chicken Curry plate was not as good as usual, since it was highly salted and highly peppered. The waiter said he would replace the wine with what was ordered and would not charge for the mistaken wine; however, when I received the invoice the wrong glass of wine was not deleted then when I brought it to his attention he updated the bill correctly for one glass of wine. Overall, I would say our experience was a disaster.
Great place for lunch with my family. I had the lunch size petit filet mignon with squash succotash. The steak was done exactly how I like it and the wood fire grilling gave it wonderful flavor. Shrimp wontons were a good appetizer and the salads with house dressing were very good.
I've often dined at The Blue Moose but was quite disappointed in the service and two of the entrees served. I had invited two out of state friends for a special double date dinner. Our reservation was for last Saturday evening at 6:30 and I realize that you were busy but I've often received my perfectly prepared meal despite this. When I made the reservation I had requested a quiet area of the restaurant which would be condusive for conversation but we were seated in a rather noisy area. Our waitress was not well trained in the wine selection and initially brought a sauvignon blanc instead of the chardonney we had ordered. This was corrected as the bottle had not been opened. I ordered the spinach artichoke appetizer and the waitress seemed in a rush for us to order our entrees when we desired to enjoy our appetizer and wanted to talk for a while as we had not seen each other in many years. She also did not listen well enough when two of the four entrees were ordered. I ordered ala carte two blackened salmon filets with a side of the creamed cauliflower and steamed broccoli. Normally the blackened salmon is cooked to perfection as this is my favorite dish. We received overcooked salmon which were not blackened and were so overcooked that they were quite dry plus the salmon was topped with the salsa which I do not like and did not order. Normally I would have returned the two entrees and requested what I had ordered but due to the special event I didn't say anything as I did not want two of us to have to wait for the entree order to be corrected. The waitress did not refill our waters in a timely fashion which was disappointing. Lastly, I'd like to add that some of the staff did not look or act as professionals and were not dressed as classy as usual. Of course, I will return but wanted to bring this to your attention. Thank you for listening.
Great set and food as usual
We enjoy dinning at Blue Moose in Topeka. Love the gluten free items on their menu. Great drink options also. You are able to have conversations with others in your party. Sometimes we meet several couples for dinner. They are always able to accommodate our party.
Great food and service.
Good food, service but sOOO loud. Please consider adding some sound deadening!!!
Went for an event that evening and it was great. The food and drinks are delicious.
Always good food and service. Take our 5 year old granddaughter who loves their steak!
Great food. Sat outside and it was beautiful. Order took awhile due to large party inside. Petite filet was delicious.
Blue Moose was Awesome! My wife and I went there for our anniversary. We had Filet Mignon, which was excellent! The service from our waiter and other staff was superb. Our waiter spoke to the manager and got us complimentary mini deserts. The manager stopped by our table to greet up and congratulate us on our anniversary.
The ambiance at Blue Moose is extraordinary! They have appealing decor and an outside dining area with fire torches.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Blue Moose offers great food and great service! Their outdoor patio is fantastic!
Excellent salmon and cream cauliflower
We go here often and the food was not qualify as norm we was highly disappointed
We’ve been here several times for Happy Hour and dinner. Usually everything is good and prices are reasonable. Our Fathers Day brunch was a little disappointing. First we asked for a booth and while there were 5 booths empty but not cleared off, we were asked if a table would be ok? Not wanting to wait any longer to be seated we said fine.
While in line to get our food, I noticed the salmon and shrimp were both out when we got to them. No staff appeared to replace the empty platters. The asparagus was hard and woody. The prime rib was very good, but unfortunately when I went back for a second piece there was only small end pieces left.
For the price the brunch was mediocre at best.
We very much enjoyed the Father's Day brunch on Sunday, great service, good food selection on the buffet.
The ambiance was great. Service exceptional. I ordered the sirlon and crab cakes for starter. My steak came, but no crab cakes. Manager comped the entire meal because of the late crab cakes. That is great customer service. The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Crab cakes came and they were good too. But, really, the steak, WOW!
We ordered the fish taco's for lunch. I asked for double rice and no black beans. When the food came I think I had the entire pot of rice on my plate. Really? How could one person eat that much hot sticky rice when it was 100 degrees outside? Fish taco's were soggy on bottom, had to eat with fork. The price was way too expensive for what we got. We ordered a "petite" chocolate dessert and it was a regular size. The dessert came out 20 minutes after we asked for it which made me late for work. The restaurant was not busy so there is no reason why we had to ask where our dessert was. Too expensive, waitress was too busy for us and food was not good. Will not come back or recommend this establishment.
Service was excellent, food was ok. Ambience was nice.
We had booked 3 separate reservations for parties of 6 with a note saying we’d love to all be together if possible. Your restaurant called us and mentioned the party room was open and a few extra servers were on hand so you could definitely make it work. Our server was amazing (wish I would have written down her name), the food was timely and excellent and the room was very spacious. Our only complaint was that it was a little warm in the room. The outside temp was in the high 90s, the room had very high ceilings and until you called us late that afternoon I’m sure you weren’t preparing for the room to be used so I’m sure those al played into why it was warm. That is our only complaint. Thanks so much for making room for our Volleyball team and parents who were in town from Overland Park for the pre-Nationals tourney. We will be back!
The outdoor venue with the fire pit is excellent. Having the ability to watch sports outside would also be nice.
We really enjoyed our experience. Food was awesome!!!
The food was excellent as always, and the service was outstanding. The shrimp won-tons were excellent a must have appetizer! Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive. I would definitely suggest getting a reservation because it's a very busy place.
I got a filet and it was pretty much tasteless other than the taste of propane. I was very disappointed
A Mother's Day dinner gone wrong-ish. The women's bathroom was filthy and had the appearance of having been so for hours (paper towels all over the vanity when the trash wasn't even full; huge globs of wet paper towels on the floor; stalls also a mess; etc.). The carpet in the restaurant had spill-stains and food all over it. The menu was outdated (things we asked for were not just out--although that happened, too--but they no longer offered them). The staff was friendly and apologetic, but it was a failure as a nice place to celebrate Mother's Day. I can understand things might have been hectic earlier in the day following brunch, but sometime around 3:00 they should have kicked it up and gotten ready for the dinner crowd. Totally phoned it in.
Fantastic wings...salad ok, a bit too much on the crushed red pepper. Great desserts.
Nothing special! Over priced Applebees, only you have more choices at Applebees. Food is overpriced. Will not be back for sure!
Ate a late lunch at 2 pm. There were only a few people in the restaurant but they seemed to have plenty of staff. However the staff was more interested in cleaning tables and doing other things other than tending to people waiting to be seated and once seated, getting service. A gal came to our table saying she would be waiting on us and we never saw her again (at our table). We had to track someone down to take our order. I will give the gal credit who did wait on us as she seemed to be as confused as we were and helped us with a misorder on our part. But overall the service was dismal and the food 'OK'. I made an Open Table reservation and never got a notification that I received my points so not sure if I got credit or not.
Out of several things on the menu, small servings, mediocre service. Disappointing.
I had made reservations 2 days ahead and also called the day of and reservation was confirmed. I had a party of 11 and a baby so wanted to make sure we would not have to wait. When we arrived at the time of reservation we were told it would be 25-30 minutes for our table. Now whole reason of making prior arrangements was to avoid this wait. We had a 2 month old and several family members from out of town. We had to continuously “argue” with staff and management making it an unpleasant experience for our family. They had an open banquet room they ended up giving to us however we waited longer than needed and had to almost demand something be done. Initially they were not even going to give us the banquet room because they didn’t have adequate staff? Well very dissatisfied with the reservation process.
I always enjoy eating/drinking at The Blue Moose. The atmosphere is very nice and welcoming.
The food and ambience were good, a bit on the pricey side but good selection. Took my family for my wife's birthday and everything was going well until our waiter asked my youngest son if he wanted a refill on his soda then added " I will bring it in a to go cup" , we took that as an invitation to leave, we did but will not be back soon, thought it a little rude especially on a $90 ticket.
Our server was awful. Slow to bring drinks, didn't refill. And when we asked for a refill, she grimaced like she was doing us a favor. Appetizer came but no plates to eat it on. Seemed mad when we asked for plates, and by the time she brought them, our food was cold. Bad experience overall.
I went with a small group, three of us got the sirloin and they were all very undercooked. We would have liked to send them back but our waitress never came back and we were out of time from waiting so long for our food. It was a shame because we paid so much.
