For my birthday, we decided to try a new place. We had heard about the Blue Hound Kitchen and decided to go there. First, it was difficult to find so we finally found a group of people who were headed there and followed them. Secondly, we noticed the menu listed more alcoholic beverages then it did food. This place is apparently known for their fantastic cocktails which we may have tried at another time but we stuck with beer and wine. Next, the food we ordered was good but heavy fare. Neither of us could finish our entrees of homemade pasta and pork shank. We tried the highly advertised deviled eggs which were fine but nothing too exciting. Lastly our waiter was great, high energy and very accommodating but he was slammed with large groups of people requesting a lot of his time. We were a bit overlooked. We may go back but will stick to what they do best-- make some interesting cocktails.

This place has a nice atmosphere and good beer and wine selection. The food was excellent and our server, Kevin, was friendly and efficient. It seemed quite busy on the Thursday night we were there so I'd recommend making a reservation. A highlight of our stay in downtown Phoenix.

I love this place. Having been several times, I feel comfortable saying they always have a diverse menu from vegetarian selections to comfort fall food to steak options. You can get several small dishes and share with your friends if you like. Their cocktails are varied and tasty. The service is good - but can feel a bit rushed when they are busy. They can get u in and out to catch a show if needed! I'll be back- with friends !

Our server Kevin was very good but unfortunately we were seated at 5:45pm and finally received our dinners at 6:50pm, 2 of the 4 brisket sliders had large chunks of fat in them, and the pasta was under cooked to the point of not being edible - although the sausage filling was very tasty. The server offered to remove the pasta from our bill and the manager came by our table to apologize. This was our 4th time to the restaurant pre-Phoenix Symphony and our previous experiences were all significantly better.

Mixologist top notch. Server attentive. Apps tasty overall, but brussel sprouts were excessively salty. Blackened Salmon was wonderful. Down side was ambiance and was situational. We were told that Kimpton Hotel Palomar closed off restaurant patio to dining guests for local dignitary, their family and friends. Thus making our window seats to see the annual Christmas tree lighting worthless.

This is our favorite restaurant in Phoenix. The food is incredible and the drinks are amazing. It's my favorite patio to sit on. But the service here is what keeps me coming back. We celebrated our anniversary late this year so we could see a concert downtown. They went above and beyond with the service and meeting the night special. It was incredible, thank you.

Everything was just great. But mostly the top-notch service by our waiter Kevin was delightful. The food was tasty and the atmosphere was warm, yet modern that didn't feel overtly pretentious. The also made my wife feel special on her birthday which was a nice touch. We will be going back there many times.

My friend & I went before a show @ Comercia and sat at the bar. The food & service
was great. I would highly recommend the fried green tomatoes...yummy!!!
We also had the flat bread which was perfect to split for a light meal. Every thing was fresh and temperature hot.

I remembered having a ameretto sour here that was delish some months ago. I ordered that immediately and greatly enjoyed it again! Tried the shrimp and grits which was not disappointing. My son had the pork and raved about it. We sat behind the curtain by the window, but it was still very loud and difficult to converse above the bar noise. Very busy place, but we enjoyed it.

Excellent, creative food and cocktails. We started with the deviled eggs, which are always wonderful. I had the shrimp and grits, which was very flavorful and my friend had the blackened salmon which she said was very good (and it’s gluten free). For a cocktail I asked the waitress to have the bartender make me something creative with rum. She brought me a rum Old Fashion that was fantastic.

Based on reviews I was expecting a more elegant environment. The restaurant is very plain, with only average lighting and quite loud. Food was average and overpriced for serving size. Service was slow and not very attentive (due to understaffing?). A bit disappointing overall

Corn grits fantastic and unique. Shisito peppers amazing! They are not spicy so don't be scared. Drinks were great. Had the Boba tea and chartreuse.. Dinner I always get the Flatiron these days. Nice steak. And the boyfriend got deliciously perfectly cooked catfish with steak on bed of white rice. Super super awesome waitress friendly checks in a few times. And of course always validate parking fully free if u park in cityscape and take the elevator up to restaurant level. Great if wearing nice heels. City feel ambient lighting is dark and romantic.

No complaints about the food, but there ought to be a new feature on open Table that indicates when a restaurant plays loud music in their dining room. I get it. Music is fun. Music is fun in a bar. Been there and done that many times. I don't want to take that from anyone. But when you just want to enjoy a nice meal and conversation with your dinner company, it should be possible to expect that a dining room will have either no music or at a low enough volume so as not to be disruptive. We spent our evening staring at each other because we could not carry on a conversation without shouting. And this by the way, was EARLY. It was a pre concert dinner so we arrived at 5:30. Some restaurants crank up music after 8 or 9pm. Not so here. So just be aware. Food was fine. Drinks were fine. Menu choices were also good. So if you love noise and music, I highly recommend.

Great location right across the street from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in downtown Phoenix. Service was good, prices were reasonable, it had a great drink selection (especially draft beers), and ample seating at the bar or in booths or in the open area of the hotel lobby. The food was excellent, my wife had the grilled trout and I had the fried catfish which were both tasty as well as was the seared tuna appetizer. The only drawback was there was no blackened scallops on the menu even though it showed on the website -- should really keep that current as my wife wanted that since the morning when I told her what the entrees were.

Was visiting Phoenix with a pal for a fun drink and dinner before catching a concert. Danny was so friendly and courteous, the flat bread and pasta were delicious, and the "Dealer's Choice" cocktail was a fun surprise; absolutely perfect. Only wish I had remember what they'd put together! Will definitely return next time I'm in Phoenix.

It was our first time to the Blue Hound and the experience was nothing short of amazing. We were kind of skeptical at first since we've frequented downtown and it never caught our attention. After doing some research online we decided to visit and have dinner. Our waitress, Carolina, was so friendly and helpful as she suggested our appetizers and wine. We had their deviled eggs with bacon jam and they were so flavorful it's like a party in your mouth. The entrees are very filling, unlike most restaurants and bars in the area. You definitely get your money's worth here at the Blue Hound. We had a nice window view of Cityscape and a great time. Thank you Carolina you were an exceptional waitress.
