Our server Kevin was awesome and made my daughter's 21st Birthday celebration a lot of fun!
Great ambiance. The good was superb. I had grilled salmon and my husband had the pork shoulder. We were extremely pleased. We would definitely recommend for a date night.
Excellent, creative food and cocktails. We started with the deviled eggs, which are always wonderful. I had the shrimp and grits, which was very flavorful and my friend had the blackened salmon which she said was very good (and it’s gluten free). For a cocktail I asked the waitress to have the bartender make me something creative with rum. She brought me a rum Old Fashion that was fantastic.
It was a wonderful evening and the food along with the atmosphere was great!
Based on reviews I was expecting a more elegant environment. The restaurant is very plain, with only average lighting and quite loud. Food was average and overpriced for serving size. Service was slow and not very attentive (due to understaffing?). A bit disappointing overall
Absolutely loved it. Food was fabulous. Was a little shocked at how casual it was considering that it is one of the top ranked restaurants in the area but it was everything and more!
Corn grits fantastic and unique. Shisito peppers amazing! They are not spicy so don't be scared. Drinks were great. Had the Boba tea and chartreuse.. Dinner I always get the Flatiron these days. Nice steak. And the boyfriend got deliciously perfectly cooked catfish with steak on bed of white rice. Super super awesome waitress friendly checks in a few times. And of course always validate parking fully free if u park in cityscape and take the elevator up to restaurant level. Great if wearing nice heels. City feel ambient lighting is dark and romantic.
Had a great meal for the second time in a week, Brad our waiter did an excellent job. Food was consistently good, portions are appropriate, I was very sad that our maid threw our left overs away, I was really looking forward to the daily bread.
service was excellent, Adam was very responsive to helping us enjoy the meal before the show at Coamerica Theater
No complaints about the food, but there ought to be a new feature on open Table that indicates when a restaurant plays loud music in their dining room. I get it. Music is fun. Music is fun in a bar. Been there and done that many times. I don't want to take that from anyone. But when you just want to enjoy a nice meal and conversation with your dinner company, it should be possible to expect that a dining room will have either no music or at a low enough volume so as not to be disruptive. We spent our evening staring at each other because we could not carry on a conversation without shouting. And this by the way, was EARLY. It was a pre concert dinner so we arrived at 5:30. Some restaurants crank up music after 8 or 9pm. Not so here. So just be aware. Food was fine. Drinks were fine. Menu choices were also good. So if you love noise and music, I highly recommend.
We were on 2 nd floor patio. Very quit. Lovely facility. Great food and service! Much louder, high energy inside.
Great service and meal
Shrimp and grits outstanding
3rd time there . Food brings us back.
Great location right across the street from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in downtown Phoenix. Service was good, prices were reasonable, it had a great drink selection (especially draft beers), and ample seating at the bar or in booths or in the open area of the hotel lobby. The food was excellent, my wife had the grilled trout and I had the fried catfish which were both tasty as well as was the seared tuna appetizer. The only drawback was there was no blackened scallops on the menu even though it showed on the website -- should really keep that current as my wife wanted that since the morning when I told her what the entrees were.
My husband and I went to Blue Hound prior to attending the Phoenix Symphony and we were so glad we did. The cocktails were amazing. Everyone must try Lawless! Our appetizers and entree were perfect as well. The service was just right and the ambiance was casual yet intimate. We will definitely be back for more!
When you have people like Kevin under your employ (although he is a San Francisco Giants fan), takes everything to a new level! Fantastic food and a really good time! We will be back!
It was our first time there, it was pretty good. Not to extraordinary. Service was great though
Was visiting Phoenix with a pal for a fun drink and dinner before catching a concert. Danny was so friendly and courteous, the flat bread and pasta were delicious, and the "Dealer's Choice" cocktail was a fun surprise; absolutely perfect. Only wish I had remember what they'd put together! Will definitely return next time I'm in Phoenix.
It was our first time to the Blue Hound and the experience was nothing short of amazing. We were kind of skeptical at first since we've frequented downtown and it never caught our attention. After doing some research online we decided to visit and have dinner. Our waitress, Carolina, was so friendly and helpful as she suggested our appetizers and wine. We had their deviled eggs with bacon jam and they were so flavorful it's like a party in your mouth. The entrees are very filling, unlike most restaurants and bars in the area. You definitely get your money's worth here at the Blue Hound. We had a nice window view of Cityscape and a great time. Thank you Carolina you were an exceptional waitress.
Wonderful ambience, food, and service. Have been several times and will return many times more.
We celebrated my friend's birthday here. It was the perfect place! The food was amazing and the cocktails were good, too! I got the trout and it was delicious. My friend got the chicken and she was happy with that as well as the strawberry and chocolate dessert options. Her BF got the pork and it was so tender. The service was great and we had a good view next to the windows that look down on the street. It was a great celebration and I would recommended Blue Hound for any special occasion.
The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. The cocktails were custom made and absolutely delicious multi layered flavors and complexity. The entrée salad was the kale Caesar salad and was possibly one of the best kale salads I've ever had! Main course was the catfish. If there is any complaints it may have been the quality of the catfish which was not matching the quality of the other foods. Otherwise it was well seasoned and delicious. Finally, the pudding desert was the perfect closer.
The interior decorating it was well done. It's it's a hip bar modern bistro setting that is full of life and energy with a great view of the street and courtyard below.
Our wait staff was attendtive & friendly, without being overbearing.
A great restaurant for blackened salmon cooked to order. Wine list choices by the glass are great.
Excellent choices on the whiskey list. The signature cocktails for Bourbon Heritage month were both good, would have tried the rest but two is my limit. They all looked interesting. Daughter had War of the Roses, that was excellent as well. The Lawless with the real vanilla pipe tobacco smoke was unique.
Food was very good, and the presentation was excellent. Could have stood more harissa on the pork shank, but the andouille sausage was good. The pappardelle was outstanding, and the salmon was very good; especially enjoyed the black garlic butter once I figures out what it was.
All in all, an excellent find; we will be back. Great place for a larger party to get together on the patio that overlooks Central.
Servers were nice but the food took forever. The fish and chips were delicious!
We had a light meal of 3 small plates:
The fried green tomatoes were a bit disappointing, especially for $16. Didn't look at all like the pictures.
The chopped salad was amazing and hearty and worth $15 any day of the week.
The 4 BBQ sliders were actually pretty good and worth the $14 charge.
We stood for 10 minutes being ignored at the front desk when we arrived. We finally had to demand service from the bar tender, who seemed annoyed. Not sure where the failure was.
It's an overpriced restaurant for what you get, but it's a hotel restaurant and I'm sure the rent is sky high. It's sustained by business travelers on expense accounts who get a great meal at a high price. That's okay... we need them.
I've eaten her 3 times over the last 5 years. It's always solid. Never enough to make me rush back for more. I go for a nice meal because I live downtown and it's easy to walk over after having been drinking somewhere else.
Went here for my 21st birthday: delicious menu, tons of cocktail options, the staff was friendly, and the place was beautiful. The food was pricey but 100% worth it considering the quality of ingredients and the atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!
Great service! Attentive and friendly staff. Worth the drive.
We had a good experience walkt in a little late had some confusion on my reservation. The hostess got us a table quickly great table fast service friendly gorgeous atmosphere great menu great food but I think the drink prices were a little bit expensive but over all a great evening with friends.
My only complaint is the meat and cheese board lacked meat.
The staff was excellent and the good was very good. This was our 2nd time to dine here and we really enjoy the unique cocktails they offer, and the food and service is always very good.
Blue Hound had a great vibe and great service. We went before a show at Comerica Theater and were able to walk to the theater within 10 minutes. The cocktails were great, and the food was amazing. We had the deviled eggs, the brisket sliders, shrimp and grits, and the salmon.
Food was good, portion sizes should be little bigger. Very loud night we were in there. Service was fantastic
We used a TravelZoo coupon so we could only order from a limited TravelZoo menu. It was ok because we all found something which we enjoyed. Disappointed that the dessert we wanted from said limited menu was Sold Out for the evening. Only one other option. Bummer.
Terribly loud dining room along the bar - once some folks left the bar area it was much better.
Wine list could be better and pricing could be better in it as well.
Very impressed! Love the decor and the food was fantastic!
Love it. Return guest. Will be back again.
My food was really good my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and look forward to coming again. We enjoyed the brisket sliders and the corn fritter fries. Our waiter was amazing and she was very understanding and provided excellent service .
Great downtown location. Interesting decor. Attentive service. Cocktails were great, but food wasn't as good as expected based on reviews.
Great place for drinks and dinner before a concert....fun drink list!
