We thought the food was ok, at best and way overpriced. The drinks would have been good if they didn’t kill them with Mezcal, and also way too expensive. Service was incredibly slow. We didn’t get our order taken for well over an hour. I would considering going back but, given the other options in the area most likely won’t.

First time here. Not impressed with the limited menu. Overpriced food and cocktails. We wanted to give it try as it had nice vibe and deco. We asked for ranch (for the fries) and was told the chef doesn’t believe in having any in the kitchen but didn’t offer another sauce . My drink sat empty and was not asked if I would like another one. At $20 a cocktail, I would be all over those sales. Overall -not impressed.

I found this place in Where Magazine. We went on a Sunday for brunch. The menu wasn't as big as I expected BUT our food was amazing! I enjoyed the Avacado and Mushroom toast while my husband enjoyed a simple egg breakfast. The hashbrowns were so delicious and so was the English muffin. It tasted homemade. We shared a granola & yogurt parfait. Not that we needed that much food we just wanted to try it and we really enjoyed that too! We considered the yogurt as dessert. We would definitely try dinner next time we are in town.

We had an amazing brunch, outstanding service, and a marvelous time. The server knew the menu well and I was pleasantly surprised to find so many gluten free choices that my daughter and I tried quite a few plates and shared. I highly recommend Blue Hound Kitchen and Cocktails!

Dropped by Tuesday afternoon with a reservation after arriving in Phoenix from Canada. We ordered drinks which were good (the late checkout and Herstory Pale Ale). We shared some appies which were unfortunately disappointing. The red wine braised beef was salty and lacking in depth. Further, the texture was past tender and seemed more over cooked (held warm?) rendering it mushy. Lastly, the service was pleasant but curt; it felt as though we were not their priority in the space but instead diners they could host or do without. Overall, this experience was a disappointment from two hungry travellers who had been looking forward to checking out the Blue Hound.

Dinner for four on the patio. Entres. BEEF IN RED WINE, I did not try this, but was told it was quite delicious, and a generous portion for an appetizer. SALMON was also pronounced very nicely prepared and was likely the best tasting salmon this person had ever tasted. The DUCK was also pronounced to be of excellent flavor (I did try this dish and very much enjoyed the taste, even though it was a bit tough). The duck was very lean, highly preferrable to the duck covered in fat some places serve. I selected the CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS. The dumplings seemed a wee bit undercooked, but there was an abundance of chicken in the dish along with a good assortment of vegetables. Very tasty, and very filling. For dessert we split a BREAD PUDDING. It was drizzled with salty caramel sauce and accompanied by 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream. Plenty of scrumptiousness to be shared by four. $220 including beer and wine and gratuity.

The Blue Hound offers a vibrant, casual atmosphere with food to match. The menu is small but interesting. The food was well prepared and the service was excellent. I requested that my salmon be cooked on the rare side, and it arrived just as requested. The only mild negative was the noise level.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Phoenix. I always try to visit if I'm in town. This time I was traveling with five other co-workers and they ended up loving it as well. The roasted brussel sprouts are amazing! Our servicer was efficient but can't really say he made an effort to connect with his customers. That's too bad, since it could have made the experience even more complete.

We got there 14 minutes before our reservation time and nobody came to see us for about 15 minutes. Then as we were seated nobody came to take our drink order for about 10 minutes finally took her drink order and it took them half an hour to get us our drinks and after that nobody came to take our order. I am never dining here again the experience was horrible we ended up walking out and leaving
