Bagel & lox was not fresh (poor presentation)
Not a good value
However our server Michael was excellent
We visited Blue Hound before the Suns game. It is conveniently located within walking distance to the arena. We ordered several appetizers and drinks. Everything was delicious. I enjoyed the Maker's Mark flight. Service was great and the ambiance is very nice.
Jules was our server and also was the crafter of amazing cocktails. The food was tasty. Great experience.
Always enjoy the food and friendly, attentive service!
Fantastic as always. I come here every time I go to a game or concert downtown.
Not really a restaurant: more of a small hotel bar with limited menu and service.
Service was outstanding. Food very good, fresh, hot, served correctly. Two things:
Didn't see any crab whatsoever in the crab dip. For $17, should have seen something. They were out of Michelob Ultra. Other than that, would recommend and go again.
We were two minutes late on our reservation ( still in the grace period) and had to wait a little to get seated in an amazing building with great ambience. We got waters right away and our drink order was taken timely by our nice server (Calvin ??? ). Mimosas and Bloody Mary since we went for brunch. Don’t bother to get fancy on the mimosas just take the oj kind, it’s not fresh pressed GJ but something that doesn’t remind you of the fruit. We ordered food when all our drinks had arrived. When drinks and water were empty our food had not arrived yet and our server seemed busy not to come too close to our table. As a server myself, I guess he was embarrassed because the food took forever. My tip, keep your table updated about the delay and ask to bring more drinks. Don’t just not go to the table. We were fine but out of drinks and water that was worse than waiting for the food. Once we got water and ordered another round of quick coming out drinks we were fine again and our great food came shorty after. I had the amazing breakfast burger with thick cut fries that were dressed in Parmesan and I enjoyed it a lot. The breakfast burritos were good but could use some frying on the outside. Omelet, fruit and potatoes were totally worth the price. Drinks are too expensive but you pay for the location not for great mimosas. Being told in the reservation that i have to leave after 1 1/2 hs with a party of 4 makes it a much less enjoyable experience. We didn’t plan to hang around forever but knowing that we are not welcome anymore after our “time is up” is not very hospital. I’d recommend to change that. All in all okay but I wouldn’t bring friends from out of town anymore to show them a Phoenix brunch place.
Great food, great service. We were also about 20 mins late for our reservation and they held our table.
Great service and food as always!
Everything here is great. It was a perfect date night spot
We sat at the bar and our bartender was incredible!
Patio closed at 9 though they close at 10, due to this we just got drinks. Friendly staff
My wife and I had a nice dinner here on Sunday May 16. Overall, Phoenix restaurants have very good service, but this place was exceptional. I had the beef tenderloin (slightly over cooked) and my wife the pasta. It's in a great location in a vibrant neighborhood near the arena and ballpark. At first we were hesitant to go as it is in the same building as a hotel. We thought "hotel restaurants are not always good." But we were wrong. Go and see for yourself.
A poor experience overall. Was basically seated in the lobby and not in the restaurant, felt like an afterthought. Was hoping the food would make up for the poor table selection but it didn’t. Too many other places around to ever go back to this one.
Great service, food came out quickly, drinks were made in a timely manner and tasted perfect.
We were celebrating a birthday and the atmosphere was great! Just the right amount of guest in the establishment to have an enjoyable dinner. Our waiter, Clayton, was fabulous! Very professional and knowledgeable! He took the time to listen and explained whenever we had questions. The food was cooked excellent and the cocktails too! We love going to the Blu Hound because the food, drinks and service is always top notch!
It wasn’t very crowded for it being a holiday and that made me feel a little extra comfortable. Food was quick, service was great, everything was just what I wanted in a Mother’s Day dinner.
Food was great but was shadowed by a lack of personnel. Food and drinks took far too long to come out.
Our server was the nicest and most helpful. Great food and drinks. Lovely table outside. Very accommodating during covid and just a cool place for brunch.
Great food and a nice place to catch up with friends.
Used to dine here pre-pandemic. My favorite dish - shrimp with grits was no longer on the menu. We started out with the warm crab dip which was tasty but had very little crab. Next, I tried the mussels which were just OK. The burger was good but the fries were warm and slightly soggy. My spouse got the chopped chicken salad. She said the chicken tasted like it was pre-cooked and then warmed up. It was not good. Service was fine. Overall, very disappointing when compared to my experiences in the past
Great food! Really beautiful restaurant. The service was pretty slow and the drinks are overpriced but overall, a good experience. I would most.likely go back again.
Overall Decent Food Was Average
After us and a few others stood around the lobby for at least five minutes on a Sunday morning for brunch, we were eventually greeted by a host that appeared to want to be anywhere but the Blue Hound. It wasn't very busy at all. The couple ahead of us asked for a table for two and was told that it would be about a 30 minute wait. They chose to go elsewhere. We had reservations and were seated. I have no idea why the other couple had to go elsewhere. We were there for over an hour and the place was never very busy. Started out with $14 mimosas! Haven't been to many Sunday brunches that charge $14 for each mimosa. So we were $56 in before we even got our food. The food was nothing that jumped out to either myself or my wife. Not bad, but nothing special. The service was pretty good, but the whole vibe that started with the host and the spendy mimosas just didn't set a very good tone. So when the food didn't wow us, we had to chalk it up to a restaurant to cross off our list.
Good ambience and service was good. Food wasn't really my style. Salmon was also overcooked when it was supposed to be medium rare.
The food was fantastic and unique, and the service was wonderful. We would definitely go back!
We made last minute reservations for my birthday, I have to say overall it was a good choice ! We ordered the beef tenderloin and the beef short ribs. All the food was great but the beef short rib was amazing, I highly recommend trying it. Service was excellent from the front staff to our server. We truly enjoyed our experience here !
My spouse ordered the lobster mac and cheese. According to him, there was hardly any cheese and just roux and cream. As you can imagine, he was very disappointed. Also, we ordered the grilled brussel sprouts which were delicious, but the stems were left on. I imagine this was according to the whim of the chef, but given the size of the sprouts, it made eating a tad challenging.
What A Fantastic Gem Of A Restaurant & Bar! All Of The Staff Were So Friendly. Colleen Our Server Was Fantastic! She Made My Wife And I Feel So Special and Was So Attentive, She Surprised Us With A Little Treat As We Are Celebrating Our Wedding Anniversary This Evening. We Definitely Will Be Back Again! Thank You Colleen And The Incredible Staff For A Memorable Night.
We were standing in the front for a good 20 mins before we finally got a hold of someone to seat us. It took a good while for us to get our food, our party of 4 each finished two drinks before our food actually came out. We went for brunch it was alright
food was terrible for the price, all of it was wildly under seasoned
Staff admitted to being short-staffed. They managed and I was a happy customer. Will revisit again.
This was our 1st visit for Brunch. The food was good, the price and location was good. The service was not. It was real slow and our Bloody Mary and Sprite took long and then our check. The server, was cleaning other tables and preparing food. Maybe just short staffed. But, he did take our Bloody Mary off the tab.
Great fries and fun outside spot!
Been here many times for work meetings. Took the family this time during Spring break. Still pretty good food and cocktails. Does not necessarily cater to families though.
Three of six orders were wrong or had to be sent back. Management offered compensation. Service and atmosphere were good.
