Blue Hill is dedicated to creating a new category of neighborhood restaurant that maintains the classic attributes of warmth and affordability, while delivering superior food and service.
Our second trip to blue hill did not disappoint. Thank you for another amazing dining experience!
Blue hill was an unbelievable experience. From service to food, we enjoyed every aspect of our meal. We can’t wait to return!!!
My server Oliver was amazing. So patient and explained everything. His knowledge of the cuisine and “blue hill way” was inspiring. The food was out of this world great. Each dish had such a wonderful taste. This is now my favorite restaurant in NYC. Thank you
Our 8 year anniversary! We wanted to visit Blue Hill since we saw it featured on Chef’s Table. The extended tasting menu was an amazing experience.
Amazing food and service. Great wine pairings
The food was good, very small portions. The meal was grossly overpriced.
The service felt rushed, as if they were trying to turn the table as quickly as possible
they were soooo incredibly nice! even for dan to sign my book!!
Wonderful anniversary dinner. We loved the tasting menu! Everything was delicious (Flavorful and wonderful textures), but highlights were the grass fed steak (served on a cow shoulder bone), and the BREAD. Oh man any bread-related part of the meal— we never knew it could have such flavor- wow! The root vegetables served first were simply delicious. Outstanding service. The descriptions of each of the wines paired with each course were detailed and enthusiastic, almost as fun as drinking each glass. Highly recommend. Be prepared for tight quarters though- tables are very close together.
Excellent service. Food was incredible. Wine selection was excellent.
Great unusual flavors, innovative, amazing bread and butter, incredible service
Always a wonderful experience.
It failed at delivering the experience and maintaining the consistency. We have never waited for at least 15 mins between courses in any Michelin restaurant but Blue Hill. They are bringing wines more aggressively than balancing the experience between wine and food. The kitchen was so slow. We waited 20 mins for the second course without any attention paid. We politely tried to ask. Lesson learnt, don’t push the river. The waitress can’t control kitchen.
If this is the second time experience we knew, I would have charged them for the experience and time wasting.
Nice words are good but not enough for covering or improving the experience when expectation set by the restaurant is so much less delivered.
The taste of food is merely mediocre. Wine is good.
Bluehill delivered on all metrics. Quiet, classy and the food tasted incredible.
We were happily surprised, even if our expectations were high. We highly and surely recommend. Drinks are very good, as well as the food experience.
Thank you again for the nice experience we had, food was creative the service very attentive but not over present. And a very special thanks to the lady in charge of the wine, passionate and she gave us a very good recommendation.
The room is lovely, multiple staff members brought and cleared dishes for the various courses. Food presentation was attractive. In our party of four, we found the food generally quite good, some dishes more so than others. We were curious to visit Blue Hill based on what we'd learned of Dan Barber from TV shows and the press. In many cases, the tastes (as in the kognut squash) were intense, but this was more the case with the vegetables than the meat dishes. If the concept is to provide food that exemplifies what food should taste like, Blue Hill comes close to fulfilling the idea. However, the dishes weren't necessarily ones we'd want to order again. We would recommend the divers scallop, lamb, kognut squash and the delightful raw vegetables that were served first.
Wonderfull expérience, definitly worth the trip to New York. Extraordinary products, cooked perfectly and a really professional and caring service.
Amazing, all around. Try and sit in the garden room if you can.
Very gracious service! Excellent, friendly, & knowledgeable staff! Was definitely a highlight of my trip to NYC. I will never forget the experience I had & the amazing staff.
Best meal ever. I could end it there. From being greeted with a little card congratulating us on our reason for celebratory dinner to each course being wonderfully presented and displayed, to the devotion to service and farm to table philosophy, well, best meal ever.
We went to Blue Hill to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. It was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. The food was outstanding, the service impeccable and the ambience elegant. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a classy dinner.
Don't know how they create such a upscale experience without being pretentious. So special.
The service was Phenomenal and the food was outstanding
Fantastic food at a reasonable price for a high-end NYC restaurant. Great service, friendly staff - we'll definitely return.
We would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or date night. The service, food, and ambiance were all outstanding!
We were extremely disappointed by our meal at Blue Hill. Although not as pricey as, say, Per Se, Blue Hill is expensive enough that customers have every reason to expect an excellent meal. The two of us ordered different dishes and shared, such that we sampled at least 7 dishes and didn't like a single one. The highlights of the meal were the bread and butter (yummy) and an amuse bouche of tiny carrots, radishes, and turnips. Whoever would have thought a miniature turnip would be tasty eaten raw? On the plus side, the service was lovely, and the room was warm and comfortable. We felt well taken care of. Shame the food wasn't good. Perhaps winter is a bad time to go to a restaurant that focuses on local ingredients.
Every aspect of the meal was excellent. The tasting menu is also quite reasonable in terms of price for the caliber of restaurant that it is. Will return!
Innovative with great respect and wisdom about food source. A bit crowed, tables are pretty closed to each other. Not the smartest team of waiters and waitresses but service is sincere and enthusiastic.
What an experience it was. Do yourself a favor and request the farmers feast especially the extended feast. Order 2 nice bottles of wine maybe a Cab Sauv to start then a bold Italian Red for the second half. Sit back and take it all is all you will have left to do. If you read a bad review about this place those individuals do not know what they’re talking about. Hands down exceptionally great food, service, and ambiance.
We had a wonderful evening at Blue Hill. The dining space was comfortable and inviting. Our server was pleasant and friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. The food....oh the absolutely wonderful food! We did one farmers feast and one daily tasting menu for variety. Every single dish was unique and well thought out. But not just each dish as an individual, how the flavors flowed together from course to course. So many textures and tastes. The Diver Scallop was literally the best scallop we have ever tasted...and we live in New England! It was prepared perfectly with a delicate sauce in order for the scallop to be the main act. Stunningly flavorful. The Blue Hill pig was tender, juicy and the assortment of cuts was just enough. Usually when we have had pork belly it’s been rubbery and squish on the palate. Not here! The texture and flavors were outstanding. The crisp outer layer was absolutely perfect and what all pork belly should be like!! We will certainly be back and hope to make it out to the farm! Our regards to the chef Dan Barber and his fantastic staff. Thank you for a memorable experience!
Service and ambiance is impeccable at Blue Hill. We were seated early (we asked if we could move up our reservation). Food was tasty but the mains were a bit too fatty. A variety of desserts is needed too.
One of my most delightful experience , highly recommended ... impeccable food and service ....
They’re all so overwhelming
We had our 25th wedding anniversary dinner at Blue Hill. The staff was very attentive, quickly switching our seat from near the cold entryway, and gave us a more comfortable, private table. We loved every bit of the food, and our only regret was eating too much of the amazing bread from Stone Barns. Thanks for a great experience.
Delicious food! Got the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairings. The parings were incredible, great choices! Would definitely recommend.
Top notch NYC restaurant. Everything was perfect! The food, the service, the atmosphere. We will be back for sure
Unique, creative and delicious. We really enjoyed our dinner. Worth watching chefs table to get a sense of the chefs philosophy. This is a special place. I look forward to returning in a different season. Orna
Everything was fantastic!
The meal was divine! Service was top-notch, and the presentation was stunning.
