Great service and ambience. We were there for an anniversary and they had a card on our table wishing us a happy anniversary. Very knowledgable staff and very professional. I thought the food was okay, and for the price I expected much better.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in the world (not just the US, let alone NYC). Having come here the first time last year (because of reading Dan Barber's Third Plate), we would never think of spending time in NYC without a meal here. The food is both creative and extremely tasty, chef quite willing to adjust to the needs and preferences of the patrons, the service impeccable., and the price -- while not cheap -- is worth it. The main dining room can get noisy; solution: try to get seating in the back "garden" room and/or adjust the time that you visit. Our first visit was very early (5:00) -- no problem. Our second visit was at peak time (7:00), would have been a problem, but we were seated in the garden (which, by the way, is inside!). Bottom line: Outstanding in every way.
Quality food delicately presented. Very enjoyable. Service is impeccable.
Great service. High quality ingredients. Beverages excellent. Too much salt in the dishes.
We loved everything about our experiences.. and the service was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back.
So I’ve been in this foodie binge and Netflix’s Chef’s Table only feeds into it. 9ver the last year, we’ve been on a foodie journey from Copenhagen to Amsterdam to Vienna. We’ve been to a couple Michelin rated restaurants in NYC but this place is definitely the best in NYC this far. As a vegetarian, each meal I had in the menu was hearty, and so! flavorful! I had the sweet potato with roasted sesame and this was AMAZING! Afterward, the Farm Egg with mushroom was the ultimate umami of brunch. The service was at par at what I would expect from a Michelin restaurant, and given the small size of restaurant, I get that personalized feeling of attention that I expect. All in all, this place lives up to the hype, and I would certainly shell out to come here again!
Second time here and it was equally as amazing as the first. Consistently very high level of quality and amazing staff. Worth every penny.
Overhyped for what it is. Tables were on top of Each other so was difficult to not be distracted by those around you. Food was good but I was expecting more out of the experience.
Great food, not too over the top. More of a ‘take great ingredients and don’t ruin them’ place making for very enjoyable dining. Wine list is interesting in variety but quite pricey.
This is everything you expected from watching the Netflix documentary and more. The meal was carefully constructed and told a story from start to end. We had the extended farmer's feast and were treated to an exquisite array of food (highly recommend this if you only have one chance to drop by). The flavours of every ingredient were robust and complex, the meal has certainly changed the way I taste food. Service was excellent and well timed between each course.
Excellent service and food
Absolutely phenomenal. I didn't know food could make me cry. Best food and drinks in all of NYC.
Blue Hill lived up to its reputation, simple yet amazing and unique. The food paired with the best wines made for a meal I will never forget. We will definitely be back.
Food was amazing! 80% of their products come from their own farm! Long menu but not big sizes. The service was great!
Incredible from start to finish!
What else can be said about BH? Dining here is one of life’s elevated experiences. If you appreciate food, where it comes from, and the beautiful things you can do with it, this is for you. We had two vegetarian tasting menus that were both memorable and challenging. Bold flavours, innovative pairings, and exquisite presentation. What puts the experience on another level is the service. Friendly with out being cloying, knowledgeable, and passionate about working at Blue Hill. And the icing on the cake? The no cell phones at the table rule. Highly recommended!
The food was delicious, but the service was amazing. Great experience all around. You're not rushed through the meal and the entire staff was helpful with a service first attitude. Highly recommend.
This was a lovely dining experience. The food is very good - sourced locally - I was offered gluten-free options, and there was a very nice, creative variety of options. Service was very good. I would definitely dine at Blue Hill again.
Blue Hill exceeded every expectation I had for it. Familiar foods tasted unfamiliar, foods I typically don't enjoy were delicious, foods were prepared in ways I had never thought of, and each bite was exciting.
Allie took excellent care of my party of two. She answered each of my many questions with clarity and patience. She was even able to tell me the maker of the coffee ceramics. I was celebrating my birthday that evening, and Allie brought me a birthday cake, as well as dessert wine on the house for myself and my guest. She explained every dish in detail when it was presented, and it was obvious that she was proud of and excited about the food she was serving.
Overall experience was exceptional.
Service was attentive, beverage pairings were stellar, and the food was executed with a high amount of precision and execution.
Thank you for a great meal and experience to all involved.
Beautiful food prepared with great care and respect.
Menu is innovative
If you are coming here you have already done your homework. Know the story before hand so you can fully appreciate it. I loved the meal, a dream come true as a student of local food systems, regenerative farming, and farm to table movement!
I heard about this restaurant on Chefs Table on Netflix. Decided to take my husband for his birthday. Very impressed by the attention to detail. He was greeted with a happy Birthday wish and a Birthday card at the table. Every course was exquisite. We felt like the food was an explosion of flavor in our mouths. We had an amazing culinary experience at Blue Hill NYC. Thank you for the amazing food experience.
Still a five star restaurant. High quality, incredible tastes and first class service.
Amazing anniversary dinner with my husband! I am gluten free and the waitstaff and kitchen staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating. It's expensive but you get what you pay for and worth the splurge for a special occasion!
Very expensive - but SUPERB food no doubt. They gave us the worst table but graciously let us change it. The same bad table was unoccupied throughput the meal so they do know it is a rubbish table next to kitchen workstation and bathroom.
We are vegetarians but there is NO price difference between their fixed rate for vegetarians and normal menu. In my opinion a restaurant at their Caliber ( Per Se and 11 Madison do have a rebate on vegetarians ) should really have at least $20 off their vegetarian menu especially as it is all farmed In their own garden!
The food is quite good, tasty without too many complicated flavors that are present in high dining establishments. You don't leave feeling stuffed, and the timing of the courses is perfect.
The restaurant is rustic and charming. The food is superb and although the wine list extensive there are many affordable options. We loved every course of the Farmer's Tasting menu, which i highly recommend to get a good overview of the restaurant's varied dishes.
The service was attentive without being overbearing, the food was PHENOMENAL, and the kitchen took my husband's food allergies very seriously and prepared him a special meal that he would be able to eat. The staff recommended wines to perfectly complement the dishes on both tasting menus. I would definitely return for another exceptional meal.
This was the best meal I’ve ever had. We also spotted Chef Dan Barber, which was an extra special treat.
We enjoyed during our first trip to NY a really great dinner at the Blue Hill. There is good variety of wines by the glass and a really surprising daily menu that is a little bit demanding but on the table with the nose and toungue easy to understand hopefully you are all with me there is are no negative critics that is meant in a more than positive manner. Very easy it es great. It is not a two Star Michelin Restaurant but my or our personal goût calls for ohne Star. We loved the Food, the Drinks and the Service! Thank you !
A family friend’s favorite that was finally tried. An adventure in eating which is almost
impossible for me to experience given my worldly eating and New York’s best...but this
is now on my list! Will be returning to be dazzled again and again.
Food and service was amazing. The team at Blue Hill takes less popular local, seasonal items like kohlrabi and parsnips and turns them into a delicacy. Worth every penny!
Amazing all around. Incredible flavors and superb service
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Favorite restaurant!
We were a group of 4 here for my daughter's 30th birthday and we had an excellent experience. All of us enjoyed the "Farmer's Feast" menu. It is easy to rack up a big bill in this place but the food was outstanding, the service from the young staff was super and the wine suggestions were both reasonably priced and excellent. Definitely a great place for special occasions. The room is quite small so it is recommended primarily for groups of 2-5 people.
Great evening out! From the minute you walk in the door, you feel taken care of. Service was wonderful and the food was very good, the gnocchi dish was a star while the dessert dish was alright (interesting use of foam). The restaurant itself was wonderful with the music down to the details in the bathroom. Overall a very good experience and highly recommend for a date night out.
Exquisite dining experience. Everything was superb.
We reserved a table but opted to have dinner at the bar. We both ordered the Farmer’s Feast tasting menu and did not look back. Every course was perfection. I will definitely be making another trip back.
