It struck me at dinner at Blue Hill tonight that it is one of the temples of fine dining. I do not necessarily mean so-called haute cuisine. I certainly do not mean food “of the moment”. Blue Hill is a place where you always get fresh, seasonal food, with minimal fuss but maximum thought, in a calm environment presented to you by knowledgeable, caring people and at a fair (not cheap, but fair) price. It is one of a handful of such places in New York and should be celebrated as such.

This is one of the finest restaurants that I have eaten at. Everything was spectacular. Every bite was an absolute delight - a balance of flavors, acid, textures, with a perfect cook on everything. And the whole wheat bread was unbelievable and served as a course mid-way through the meal - absolutely brilliant idea and perfectly executed.

The "Extended Farmers Feast" was incredible! The preparation and care for the ingredients was second to none. It is rare to dine at a restaurant that has such control over the entire supply chain in the way that Blue Hill does; it is the most unadulterated version of farm-to-table I have experienced.

The service was polite, friendly and prompt without being too much. Servers and Sommelier were very approachable and attentive - their care for the food/wine and where it comes from is evident and adds to the meal.

The atmosphere is relaxed and comforting. I was happy to enjoy 8 fantastic courses over a nearly 4 hour meal.

I could not recommend Blue Hill enough, must try!

Another outstanding Meal - at one of my favorite restaurants on the East coast. And the wine list always impresses and the service and attention we received were as usual outstanding, making it so we want to go back again soon.

We hadn’t been to Blue Hill for about 10 years so my recollection wasn’t that crisp. I believe that after this visit, it will be remain vivid for a long time. The food brought smiles to our faces plus the service was excellent. The service team met and exceeded our expectations. Not only were they knowledgeable, they enjoyed presenting each item. It was a total team effort.

Absolutely incredible. It's hard to pick a favourite dish as everything blew me away. Such a special meal and a special place. Outstanding service, gorgeous plating... the list goes on. Do yourself a favour a pay them a visit. Kudos!

At first I was skeptical. The menu seemed weird, but once the food starting coming out, we were blown away. The food was so unique, fresh, deeply complex flavors, beautifully presented. Unlike anything I've ever had before. I would recommend this as a destination dining experience to foodies all over the world.

Having been to blue hill several years ago we were beyond excited to be back in NYC and go again. This time we both left disappointed. The best part of the meal was the different veggies they highlight in small bites. We in no way mind paying for an amazing meal but this really feel flat in all area......

I honestly cannot say enough good things about the experience that we had at at Blue Hill. To start with the service was incredible. Everyone on the wait staff was incredibly attentive and knowledge. The wine pairings with the meal were incredible, as well as the stories that came with them.

Then there was the food. Each bite just explodes in your mouth. Each course brought a new excitement. It was absolutely incredible.

We went to New York hoping for an experience like this, and we were not let down.

Excellent locally sourced food. Portion size is perfect for the multiple courses, leaving us full but not stuffed. Staff was very proactive about possible food allergies. Try the non-alcoholic strawberry cocktail! (Alcohol-based cocktails also very good)

Second time at Blue Hill in the city. We came early at 5pm in order to make an 8pm show on Broadway. There is nothing bad that can be said about the food and the fresh produce and meat from the farm. It’s just simply outstanding. The table we received was in the back by the entrance to the kitchen. There is too much foot traffic by staff there to be able to relax. Our main waiter (many people attend your table) was a little lackluster in his descriptions and hard to understand at times in the high volume background noise. I come here with an open mind, knowing that some things are experimental and I may not love them 100%. I try everything and this time everything was absolutely delicious.

This was truly the best meal I've ever had in my life. It was such an incredible experience. The concept of farm to table and the intentionality of serving only what is in season sets Blue Hill a part from the rest! It certainly made my 28th birthday very special. Even the bathroom experience was delightful. Thank you!

Blue Hill was wonderful. My grandmother and I went and ordered off the a la carte menu so we could get different things and split them and we both loved everything! The food was impeccable, and the every dish was incredibly balanced. The portion sizes were larger than we both thought they would be, we were pleasantly full at the end of the meal. We got to sit in the garden room which was lovely, a small, quiet room, with natural light and only six tables so the noise level was good. Our server, as well as everyone who delivered our food, were pleasant and very descriptive. We loved it and can’t wait to go again

Our first time here in a long time and now I'm trying to understand why because this restaurant is just about perfect. We opted for the four course which was plenty of food, starting with the amuse bouche fresh vegetables, then I had the snap peas salad which was wonderful and the husband had the salad, I almost licked his plate it was so good, hard to believe that a salad can be that good but it was. Next we both had the skate, wow, I have had skate before and thought it was good but Blue Hill does it better. Next I had the pig and I'm still dreaming about it, husband had the chicken and since I tried his too, it was wonderful. Homemade bread made an appearance but was quickly eaten up. The finale was berries in a whipped white chocolate. OMG, I hate to repeat but this was the best meal I have ever eaten. I think I told Chef Barber that the first time we ate here too. If only we were closer....till next time, thanks again.

One of the best meals I've ever had and I've been to a lot Michelin rated restaurants. The food was creative and exceptional. The service was awesome. A delight and a new favorite!

Food plating is creative however the kitchen can work on the potion size, the 3 microscopic duck Brest is not a true value of culinary skill. Giving additional desserts again is nothing great! I would rather go to a dessert bar!

We loved our experience at Blue Hill! We went to celebrate our anniversary and they took great care of us. Nice ambiance, high standard service, and amazing food! Everything was fresh and delicious. For the quality of experience and food, it’s a great value.

The food was delicious; however the timing between portions was a little slow towards the beginning of our meal. Not sure if everyone has the same opinion, but we felt that the next plates could have come out sooner.

The restaurant was extremely gracious and patient. One of our guests was late and they didn't rush us to order and were extremely understanding. They even substituted dishes for my guests without any hassle. The snap pea salad was fun and tasteful. The bread and butter are the best. The pullet egg and sausage was wonderful and the farm pig was delicious. The strawberries with mint, almond and white chocolate was light and wonderful. Just a typical great meal at Blue Hill where we are never disappointed.

Poor service (waiters were rude and seemed to be arguing with each other). The food was not cooked well (either way undercooked or had poor cuts of meat, very tough). Overall disappointed with the experience given the great reviews with the Farm house.

Lovely spot but a bit overrated.
You need a lot of time for the set multi course dinners which in our cares was served way too slow . Waited 2 hours until the first course arrived . Had to request fillers ( bread ) which was only served by request .
Also, as a substitute for a one fish course they served a bean / pea veggy composition for one of our guests ?! Which we send back and got combed with a different more creative "pork meat "version for all four of us. Meat was not all too tender ....Nice move, but uncomfortable circumstances.
Overall, lovely experience if you life far away from farm fresh foods.
Nevertheless, the multi course creations , sauce reductions and veggie mouses are creative and very nice.
Service was exceptional once it got rolling.
Lovely one time experience .

I have a special place in my heart for Blue Hill. It continues to surpass culinary boundaries and push the limits of conventional dining while educating the diner of what can be possible when eating farm-to-table. Always an extraordinary experience!
