Blue Hill is dedicated to creating a new category of neighborhood restaurant that maintains the classic attributes of warmth and affordability, while delivering superior food and service.
Perfectly elevated farm to table, cozy, engaged and friendly staff and perfectly surprising flavors.
A wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly lovely and the kitchen prepared amazing food.
Just wonderful! Love the personal touches. The food was fantastic. Staff were well-coordinated, knowledgeable and attentive without being too intrusive.
Excellent food and service. My Swiss friend was very impressed.
Everything I hoped it would be. My husband and I went after our City Hall wedding, and they made it so special, with champagne and a sweet card, and amazing service. Loved everything about our experience. Especially awesome to do a tasting that is so vegetable-forward, so you don't feel overstuffed and unhappy after!
The service was impeccable from the moment we walked in. The food was everything we expected.. stunning. There are no words for the bread... and the restaurant, itself, was warm and inviting. Our whole experience was wonderful.
I’ve been waiting three years to have the opportunity to attend the restaurant and it did not disappoint. I went with my girlfriend for our anniversary and it was the greatest dining experience I’ve ever had. The staff was knowledgeable, courteous and charming. Our table was a little late and they gave us free champagne and cider for our wait.
The food was glorious and now we’re planning on hitting up the famous one in Tarrytown in a few months. Thank you Dan for making the best food in the state.
Had the farmer’s feast and it took 2 hours to get 4 courses. Felt like an eternity. Also the food was not so impressive or tasty as I was hoping. Very underwhelming.
Excellent service. Main course was lukewarm compared to other courses, but too quality nevertheless
Can’t be beat. Only wish I could’ve met Dan barber!
Dinner was fantastic! The service, the food, and the wine were all impeccable!
Truly well-deserving of its Michelin Star, Blue Hill exceeded all of our expectations!
I took my girlfriend to Blue Hill for her birthday and it was one of the best meals we both have ever had. We did the Farmer's Feast extended with the wine pairing and I would recommend this to anyone for a special occasion. It will be an experience that you will never forget!
Great server. Very relaxed evening. Low noise level so it was easy to talk.
Fantastic tasting menu at the bar with wine pairing. Obvious love for their food and craft, an outstanding experience from start to finish and a good way to celebrate finishing a marathon.
Cocktails good. Food not as flavorful or as interesting as expected. Noise level high: tables very close and gentleman next to us must have enjoyed hearing himself talk as he wanted all of us to experience the same joy. Waiter seemed disinterested, just going through the motions. A disappointing evening.
I have been to the outstanding Blue Hill at Stone Barns and I wanted to take my girlfriend to Blue Hill New York City. My Expectations were high and they came through with flying colors. Superb in every way. We loved it. Service was impeccable and the food was a 6 out of 5. Highly highly recommend
Amazing experience. Everything was prepared with delicacy, especially the vegetables. We had parts of vegetables that we would have tossed out, but they were delicious and learned that we should use all parts. The course was well balanced and well thought out, and everything was so fresh. We sat in the back garden which was quiet and cozy.
Amazing! Great food & service.
The back room is the best.
Fantastic farm to table gourmet experience. If you can’t get to the farm, this is a citified version. Attention to detail is palpable.
Blue Hill used to be my favorite restaurant (also the location at Stone Barns). But Saturday night’s service left a lot to be desired. Food was good, but not sure if I will return any time soon.
excellent all around with great care taken across the board
This was a real experience for my wife and I. We dined @ Blue Hill for our anniversary and the level of care and service by the staff at Blue Hill was like nothing we ever experienced before.
The food was perfect, exactly what I was hoping for based on what I have learned about the establishment. Highly recommended.
Wonderful atmosphere, creative food. We chose the 4 dish menu after a short wait at the bar. Service is overall efficient. The wine list offers a large choice of average to good wines at rocket high prices
Epic food journey. I loved it. Savored every bite and will frequent it ... the value is surprisingly solid.
Mary was fantastic!! We liked the food too ;)
From the moment we came it, it was magical. They had left us a card in our table congratulating us. Not just the server but everyone knew. The food was amazing and the server. He couldn’t have been better!
Divine. Service and food impeccable.
We loved it!! Had a wonderful time and the food was incredible!!
outstanding evening, very personalized service. food was great and they were able to accommodate my gluten allergy.
Beautiful dishes as always! And our server Savannah was so personable...great touch.
Table close to door to the street. Not very comfortable.
The food was excellent and the front of house staff were friendly, very knowledgeable of the menu, and conscientious about dietary restrictions (I'm gluten free and one of my dining companions is a vegetarian). However, it took over four hours to get through the eight course menu, which in my view is entirely too long. I will definitely return, but opt for the four or six course menu next time. Just something to keep in mind if you are stretched for time or tired.
The was food was ethereal and staff amazing - great experience.
I left feeling a little disappointed. Maybe Blue Hill doesn't seem as fresh anymore; or maybe they had an off night; or maybe we ordered wrong. But after looking forward to this dinner for a month, we left a little underwhelmed. The service was great and very attentive, so no issues there, but the food just didn't really wow us.
We had the regular menu, and added a plate of the gnocchi. I think that was our first mistake. I think you really always have to go for the Farmer's Feast here. It's much more creative, and I regretted our decision when we saw our neighbors' plates.
Everything just tasted plain to us from the starters of peppers & pears and brussels sprouts to the chicken and pork mains. The best thing about the whole meal were the bread and the dessert, which is kind of sad when you're commenting on a multi-course meal.
Also, another review mentioned that the kitchen is a little heavy-handed with the salt, and I agree. We almost sent some things back.
My other criticism here is that the wine list doesn't really have many cabernet wines under $100. I think the wine director here could be a little more open to some more budget-friendly wines. We also got cocktails and they weren't really that good. The bartender used too much vermouth in the martini.
The ambiance was a little disappointing too. Last time we came to Blue Hill, it felt like a calm oasis. This time, it was a little hectic, with louder music, tables seemingly closer together and overall kind of cramped. Maybe the last time we went was an abnormally quiet night, but for whatever reason, this time around dining here did not feel comfortable.
So I'm giving three stars here. If we could give 1/2 stars, I'd probably give 3.5 because the service was really good and the staff is experts at remembering special occasions. I still think Blue Hill is above average, but I think other places in the City are better.
Blue Hill is the very definition of a special occasion restaurant for us. We've gone several years now as an annual birthday treat. I did notice some tiny little slips in service this time. Only one of our party was asked if we wanted to check our coat/bag & we had to ask for the crumb cleaner thing instead of the server automatically using it. There were also two dropped pieces of flatware on two separate occasions clearing our table, the second one striking the foot of one of the guests.
The food and ambiance remains outstanding, and the servers are so well-versed in the food and fantastic about altering a dish due to a food restriction. We will be back.
The food is incredible but our server, Alex made the meal that much better. Her depth of knowledge with both wine and Blue Hill’s farming techniques were outstanding and we even met some new friends at the table next to us. Incredible meal.
It was a wonderful dinner, but not everyone will love a French breakfast radish and butter, or Brussels sprouts with horseradish. I did. But it is essential to look at the menu before going.
It was a great deviation experience. The matching wines worked very well.
