Blue Grotto Sushi and Tapas - Sandy Springs Ratings and Reviews
We ordered two appetizers, the steak was totally overcooked and no taste. The muscles were overcooked as well. The sushi was good and fresh.
Unfortunately we both got a stomach upset. The place was so dead and I think the food was not fresh that 's why we both got sick. Sorry but We won't go back .
Service was exceptional, and food options are unique and fun. The presentation of food could be better, and we felt we paid quite a bit for what we got. We loved the complimentary fondue chocolate dessert. That dessert would be perfect for a date night. We sat in nice lounge seating, which felt cool and intimate.
Always a great experience and could tell its gaining in popularity. More than traditional on a Tuesday night and staff seemed to be pretty busy. Food still came out quick and staff got everything correct and kept waters full along with our other drinks. Love keeping this place as a go-to whenever a craving comes along.
I've been to Blue Grotto a few times, had okay experience and okay food. It's located very close to my home and while I've been on the fence about the value, convenience has won out. Until now. Friday evening 7:45pm arrival, dining room was half-full when we were seated. 25 minutes later when soup and salad arrived there was one of each rather than two of each. Apparently server did not fully understand English. 65 minutes after we arrived part of our sushi order was placed on the table and another 5-10 minutes for the final roll. The fish is fine, but the rolls were tasteless and a little sloppy looking. I am off the fence and will drive on for a better experience next time.
Our last 2 visits the service has not been very good at all and we are regular group of ladies that visits the place frequently. We love the place and would love to continue to receive great customer service like always before!! Very slow service when the restaurant isn't even full and lack of interest and getting orders wrong or forgetting part of the order is something that is happening lately!? Hope this is nothing that continues.....
Took my wife here for our anniversary and must say that it wasn't what I expected from the outside. However as we entered my opinion immediately changed. Blue Grotto is a tiny little sapphire waiting to be discovered. The decor is modern and the ambience welcoming. The menu is full of enticing small plates and the drink list is good. Overall we enjoyed and would definitely frequent this hideaway if we weren't 25 miles away.
On Halloween night and very last minute, a search on Open Table delivered this conveniently located, sushi option. The food was very good a reasonably priced. Drink options were plentiful. Love the casual group seating on sofa like benches in cozy nooks with throw pillows. Attentive service too. We'll be back with friends!
The tapas was simply amazing - delicious, unique and fresh. Quiet, cozy little restaurant tucked away from the hectic pace of Roswell Rd. The service was personable and efficient. We went with world traveler Italian/Swiss relatives who were also impressed. We will be back!
Blue Grotto offers an excellent offering of sushi and tapas. I enjoyed an interesting small plate of scallops over cheese grits. It was outstanding. I also had a shrimp dish over vegetables. The presentation was very attractive, served in china spoons. I've had different dishes each time I've been there. There is also a good selection of sushi. The service couldn't have been better. Our server, Kiki, was gracious and attentive, but not overly so. I ate outdoors which I really enjoyed. The interior dining area is also comfortable and inviting.
Fresh, consistent, good food. We love this place! I wish they would bring back their bread pudding though for dessert in their menu. Also I wish they had some more vegetarian selections in their menu, not vegan, but vegetarian. However they never disappoint.
