Great food and service
Food was good. Terrible service
Kushma rocks !!! He gave us excellent vegetarian options.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere.
Would have been nice to be a little quieter. Tried a side to share and none of us liked it (nothing wrong with it, just not to our liking) and the waiter took it off our bill unasked. Nice touch. Wine was a tad overpriced. Duck wings and Duck entree were awesome. Braised rib was melt in your mouth.
I need restaurants help. Could you mail or photo me what we ordered at bill list? Thanks
The foie gras was very good as were the accompanying Johnny cakes. The crispy duck wings were not crispy and were mildly tasty. The coffee and donut dessert was disturbing for me because it had a multitude of ingredients. I do not to subscribe to the notion that more ingredients make a better dish. It is almost impossible to get good balance with many ingredients. The wine was good: a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanca and a French Merlot blend. Good enough to get us to return.
As a vegetarian, I usually get some kind of impromptu grilled vegetable dish, but here, they had a decent array of dishes. The vegetarian pot pie was fabulous. They also have an impressive wine list, so it was a very enjoyable meal.
Really delicious food with a wide variety of food. The waiters were very respectful and helpful!
I visited Blue Duck Tavern on Sunday morning for brunch. I found that out this place was Michelin one-star restaurant so I made a reservation. I was there 5 minutes earlier than the reservation time, and then the receptionist asked me to wait for my time. It looked the table was not ready for us because normally restaurants just take me to the table when I arrived 5-10minutes earlier than the reservation time. We ended up sat down at the table 10 minutes later than my reservation time. We ordered 'crispy chicken thigh & waffle' and 'farm house baked egg.' I was surprised because the food came out very quick. I literally put my finger on the waffle and it was already cool down. At that point, I was very disappointed. Crispy chicken seemed too dark and hard. Farm house baked egg was too salty. The restaurant was kind to take out the 'crispy chicken thigh & waffle' from our bill because we ended up telling them the waffle was cold. Overall, we were not so satisfied with the service and food. I couldn't believe this was a micheline one-star restaurant, and I wouldn't recommend this place to my friend.
Steak was over cooked and tough and my wife’s water glass went empty for the majority of the meal.
Food was very good! Great wine selection!
We are regulars for a Saturday lunch at Blue Duck. Consistently top quality. The BBQ hash was out of this world!
Staff was in attentive and poorly trained. After we were shown to our table, we sat quite a while without water or menus or anything. I mentioned this to a passing staff member, and she said “ask your server“. That was the whole point: we couldn’t find the server. Later When we asked for a bill, we were told to “ask your server”. The server was not around-that was the problem. The second problem was staff who couldn’t be bothered to help.
What a unbelievable experience, the staff truly made it unforgettable. The food had such deep flavors and it was prepared with both love and skill. It has made our anniversary a treat to say the least. There aren’t any words that could explain how special it all was from start to finish
Excellent customer service!
Went here for dinner tonight with my girlfriend. The space was beautiful and I love their "Open Kitchen" floorplan where you can almost accidentally walk into the kitchen.
The service was on par with an upscale restaurant. He asked about tastes and preferences and accurately described dishes both while we were perusing the menu and when they arrived at the table.
My girl ordered a glass of wine and I got the "Quiet Desperation" which is basically a 'Dealers Choice' whereby the bar picks a higher end whiskey after you tell them neat or on the rocks. I opted for the full dealers choice (had them choose neat or rocks) and was served a delicious rye with one big rock. It's not what I'd usually drink (I'm a big fan of peated scotch whiskey) but it was tasty and I liked trying something new.
For our starters we had the Meat and Cheese board and the Duck Wings. The meats and cheeses were good, but the price was high for what we got ($36 for three pieces of bread, a few slices of 3 kinds of meats and 3 kinds of cheeses) but the duck wings were great. Perfectly cooked and drenched in a unique tangy sauce.
For our mains we had the Roasted Duck and the Cavatelli. The duck was VERY salty, it actually reminded me of sausage it was so salted, but still well cooked. The Cavatelli was very good and had a zesty sauce that I really enjoyed. When the server asked about the duck I mentioned it was very salty but wasn't really complaining -- without hesitating he put in an order of the shortribs (which was the other dish k was contemplating with him about ordering) which was completely unnecessary but was a very nice touch. I was really pretty full at that point, so I tried to eat a few bites of the shortribs when they came. They were seasoned really well -- in this indian-esque turmeric/tamarind sauce and the meat basically fell apart. Seriously, you could (and I did) cut it with a fork.
Service was good. One star Michelin rated is a bit overrated. Hamachi was fishy. Halibut and scallops were good not mind blowing. Oysters were creative with the smoked hay and flavor. Not overly impressed for a Michelin rated restaurant. Willing to try again.
Fancy place...no doubt. However, I spent $80 on lunch for two (soup and salad only) and I never disliked the food so much. Awful taste. The street food track offer better meals.
Piatto affettati e formaggi mediocre.
Carni e piatti forti molto buoni.
Servizio cordiale e professionale.
You waiter Tibor was excellent, he went through the menu in detail and recommended choices that was very much to our liking. The food (everything we ordered) was simply divine. Drinks were also great and the staff was very attentive and pleasant.
A wonderful brunch experience with exceptional service!
Every morsel was delicious. Delightful helpful service. We even got street parking. Nice. Great to do before a matinee at the Kennedy Center.
My friends and I were celebrating our friends birthday. I booked through Open Table and made a note that we were celebrating his birthday and that it was a surprise. I called 30 minutes ahead and asked if 3 of my guest could be seated a little early, while I bring the guest of honor in a few minutes later to surprise him. The staff was all for it, ready to welcome and wish him a Happy Birthday. They even printed Happy Birthday with his name on all of our menus, which was an added touch and brought a birthday sorbet after dinner. We loved the attention to detail this restaurant provided us. The food and wine were phenomenal, we are all looking forward in returning to Blue Duck Tavern.
Phenomenal food and great service including recommendations for food and wine pairings that were spot on. Love this restaurant!
Wonderful dinner and impeccable service!
The service was great and the food was spectacular.
Second time here. Couldn’t wait to come back. This time not as good. Probably won’t come back for awhile. Had to send my well-done $52 NY Strip Steak back. I ordered medium rare as usual. The rest of our table was nearly finished eating when I finally got my replacement steak. It was actually closer to medium but fine. Carrots were way undercooked. We didn’t share that for fear of sounding like complainers. But the carrots were raw by any cooking standard. Bottle of wine was great. My daughters duck was outstanding. My husband enjoyed his medium rare steak which arrived correctly. We were not offered anything for the mistake which obviously impacted our experience. An offer to comp the dessert we shared would have been a nice gesture.
Delicious food and lovely restaurant. The staff understood the needs of Celiac customer and how to protect food from cross contamination
I was only in for breakfast. However I expected the standard to be higher, toast seemed average. Omelette was dry and over cooked
Food was great, service was great. We ended up getting the duck which was exquisite, the beef short rib which was surprisingly probably my favorite dish of the night, and some sides which were also pretty amazing. What highly recommended restaurant
This is still one of the best restaurants in D.C. everything was great.
Superb service and food!! Every dish was cooked to perfection! Must order the bone marrow! We had duck, scallops and crab and those potato fries are to die for!!
The crab and corn soup is the best!
Lovely place! Best dinner of our trip!
It was a great place to celebrate with my son his graduation summer. An d the staff was increddeble.
It exceeded our expectations. Hopefully we will be back soon!!
Impeccable service from Nick and the wait staff. Food and cocktails great.
The food quality is high. The prices are relatively high but for a special occasion the quality compensates.
