Always a great experience!
We loved our time at the Blue Door. Everyone enjoyed their meal and service was good.
The atmosphere was lovely. We look forward to dining on the patio this summer.
One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago, beautiful rooms, great food and drinks and wonderful service.
Best service and brunch.
A relative was in town and we wanted to go somewhere quiet because his hearing can sometimes be an issue - Blue Door was fabulous!
The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Slight disappointment in the dessert selection and they don't have decaf espresso. The wine by the glass was a bit pricey as well. Overall worth going back, which we will.
Such an adorable place! Very southern chic and very cozy. The burger was amazing and I’ll definitely be back for brunch. An adorable place
Excellent as always! The food is delicious, the service wonderful and it is one of my favorite dining places.
Great experience per usual. Can’t wait for the weather to change so we can sit outside
We are in town 6-8 times per year and needed a change of pace. We were also celebrating my daughter’s birthday. The food was fabulous, not over-done, wonderful combinations, and nicely priced. It is a small seating area, but not cramped or loud. Loved it. We will be back.
Helen, our waitress, was a delightful tour guide to a home that's a restaurant. Wow is enough. Each item was uniquely prepared and delightful on my palate. Wine to match and great coffee with desert to die for. WOW
Wonderful quaint atmosphere and excellent food! Very special for Easter Brunch. Can't wait to go back when we're visiting Chicago again.
Martini made with Nolets gin was fantastic.
We also enjoyed the wine by the glass selection.
My server recommended the original fried chicken. Best chicken I have ever eaten.
I also had Morocco carrot salad with beets and goat cheese. It was enough to split.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
The family was visiting from out of town and friends recommend it. we went for brunch and it was perfect. the food is great and the service outstanding. can't wait to go for dinner!
Really disappointed. Brunch food was very average and came to the table cold. I think the kitchen may have run low on hollandaise... our benedict came with next to nothing.
We won’t be back, unfortunately.
Everything was amazing! Highly recommend
Excellent find. I didn't know it was in it's current location. I think is was Art Smith's restaurant before he become famous.
It was great! No complaints. Very accommodating staff.
Had the eggs benedict and a delicious bloody mary! Both were excellent!
Brunch was delicious, and the restaurant is absolutely adorable!
the complimentary hummus and cracker were a nice touch.
fried chicken sandwich is something to come back for.
great value for a Art Smith menu.
our waitress did not bring her A game to work this day...more like a B-...will try again
atmosphere is extremely cozy and inviting...too bad the music did not match.
Lovely setting with great staff and wonderful food.
Delightful brunch 😊
Amazing all around. So many great places in Chicago and immediately we pegged this as our new go to to bring out of town guests! Get the chicken. And burger was amazing too.
Great food and service. Upstairs dining room is very quiet
It was wonderful all around! We felt welcome and relaxed, the food was fantastic, and the overall evening was excellent. We will continue to visit!
Brought us the wrong food! Took over 30 min to correct! They basically ignored us after that! Worst experience I have ever had dining. Was looking forward to it as many said it was a good place! Very sad! On top of all that, the bill was wrong! Just a laughable experience!
This is the third time for me to come to this location, and we still love it. My family loves the chicken and waffles. Only one compliant I wish they had better sauces and less salt on the food. Our server was great !
Superb food and very reasonable wine list. Very lively decor and great wait staff
I will definitely give it another try. My wife was very happy with her trout but my shrimp and grits which is supposedley a signature dish was not as good as others I have jad. The grits were cold the flavors were a little bland and there were ony three wafer thin pieces of andouille. The shrimp was very good and plump though. They can do better. Cool space with good vibe and fun mixed crowd. Wine prices a little high for the small pours.
Disappointing. Loved Table 52 and enjoy Blue Door on Halsted. We may have had an off day but the karma was very negative. Our waitress seemed to dislike her job and despite an early booking and few tables we were not asked for a drink order for a long while. We ordered directly from the bartender who was charming and the only bright spot. Food tasty but sullied by low energy seemingly unhappy staff including hostess who failed to contact the valet and then suggested she has no control as they do what they want (after we waited a long while). Better bet to go to Halsted location although mysteriously they aren’t on Open Table.
Delicious food and adorable interior
Always an excellent experience. Great brunch!
3rd visit. Always amazing in past. This time all food was cold. Service was ok
Have been here several times and never disappoints. I wish the founder was there to greet guests butbunderstand schedules are what they are. Ambiance is excellent and prices are very goods still love the fried chicken!
Second time in Chicago and the first place I reserved to eat for the trip. My daughter brought me here in Jan and it was awesome. Perogis were to die for !! Had them at both visits. I had the filet that was cooked perfectly and my 2 daughter’s had the fried chicken and the Salamon- all dishes were simply the best!!!! Definite recommend!!
Came here for my boyfriends birthday. I put instructions into the opentable reservation but I'm guessing they didnt get them or didnt read them. Had to tell them in person to bring out a candle, but thats not really an issue (unless you wanted it to be a small surprise for the birthday person). 3/5 of us really enjoyed the food. The only dish that was really lacking was the grits. Much to my surprise as they said they were famous for them. The grits were very watery and lacking flavor. Maybe it was just a bad night. I will say that the hummingbird cake was extremely good and everyone loved it. The service was also spectacular. Loved how friendly our server was. In general, it was a good experience.
Went to The Blue Door mid-week for a birthday celebration. I have been there and always enjoyed it but my guests had not been. They were amazed at how delightful the ambiance is and how good the food is. The Blue Door has made two more faithful followers.
Great service. Good food.
our dinning experience was amazing! We were seated on the second floor and it was just delightful!! We will definitely go again.
