About Blue Crab Grill
Blue Crab Grill in Newark, Delaware is known for offering a giant menu filled with seafood options. Though much of it is seasonal, you can always count on some items at Blue Crab Grill. For example, there is the steak and cake. You get a grilled beef tenderloin and jumbo lump crab cakes.
Another standby at Blue Crab Grill is the surf and turf. This includes a five-ounce beef tenderloin steak and a five-ounce lobster tail that is served stuffed with crab imperial. The crazy jambalaya is very popular as well. It comes with crab legs, crawfish, clams, mussels, scallops, chicken, shrimp and andouille sausage.

Blue Crab Grill Ratings and Reviews
We were there Valentine's Day at an earlier seating. While the food came out fairly fast, I never felt rushed at all and they seemed to handle the reservations really well. I also appreciate that while they had special Valentine specials, you could also order off regular menu and prices were not inflated. Leanne, our server, was wonderful.
Great food and great service. I prefer the regular lunch menu over the Sunday Brunch menu which has somewhat limited choices... (although they told me I could order off the regular menu if I wanted.)
Server was attentive and pleasant. The food came promptly as ordered and was almost too hot.
Clam bisque was very good.
Only downside, the bathroom was clean but VERY cold.
Four couples went to Blue Crab on my recommendation for a holiday wrap up lunheon. The food was outstanding, our waitress pleasant and most accommadating, and atmosphere perfect for a relaxing afternoon get together. They never disappoint! Everyone is looking for an excuse to do it again.
We were seated at a temporary table near the bar. The table wobbled terribly and our waitress tried to fix it. The noise level was so bad it was hard to enjoy and our food and we did not order dessert because we could not wait to get out of the restaurant.
Local restaurants were closed for New Year's Eve so my husband suggested Blue Crab Grill. Called and discovered they were open so we drove 35 miles to eat there again. Food was delicious as it was the first time we visited. Tender clams fried in a very lite batter with a delicious side sauce. My lobster was sweet and filet perfect. Husband had prime rib cooked just right. So full we took a dessert home and ate it at midnight. Look forward to returning! Happy New Year to the friendly staff!
We are regulars and always have a great time. Servers even recognize us sometimes and always make us feel welcome. Food was particularly amazing this time, I had the steak & cake and hubby had the surf & turf. Cocktails were delicious and we often start with fresh oysters. It’s a warm family friendly restaurant appropriate to celebrate special occasions or for a casual meal.
What awesome entertainment for a Sunday. The food was fabulous as normal. The roasted red pepper soup was creamy deliciousness and the crab omelet was so good I ate the whole thing! The signature Christmas drinks were fantastic. Thanks again for an awesome dining experience
Blue Crab Grill is one of the best places around to eat. The food is always great and service is always spot on. We went for brunch and everything was delicious. I highly recommend the lemon ricotta pancakes! The bloody marys were like a meal with everything that came in it. Whenever I go for lunch, I have a tough time not ordering their seafood chef salad. It's awesome! I highly recommend this restaurant!
My friends and I routinely enjoy dinner here before we go to a REP play at the University of Delaware. We have had this tradition for years and consider it part of our play night experience. The food is always great, service is warm and friendly, and the environment is conducive for conversation.
A very nice, friendly restaurant. The staff are great, very attentive without hovering. I had the hummus appetizer, the snapper turtle soup (nicely spiced without overwhelming the delicate flavor of the turtle), and the fried seafood dinner. Everything was good. The "garlic" bread was delicious, as bread, but the garlic aspect might as well not have been added (it was all but impossible to taste it). Their dessert menu is nicely diverse. I'm definitely coming back.
Went for dinner with friends and had a terrible experience. The service was horrible. After our food was delivered by someone else, our server disappeared and when we finally found her there was no apology just a smirk. Our dishes were not cleared, water was not refilled, we had to beg for drink refills and the dessert menu. Our meal took forever because she obviously didn't care. The food was average at best and very expensive for what we got. Never again.
