Food was good, service was excellent.
We come to Palm Springs every two years and make it a point to eat at Blue Coyote at least once. Our server handled drink and food orders for the eight of us with ease - everyone got exactly what they ordered, he didn't hover but he was there, he was friendly but professional and I wish we knew his name. He is someone Blue Coyote should hang onto.
I hate to say this because we used to love this place but it has gone way downhill since the last time we were there two+ years ago. They have severely reduced their menu offerings. Used to have much more variety. Now, it's just typical Mexican. Used to have superb margaritas in giant glasses. Now they serve mediocre ones in juice glasses. Sad.
My favorite Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs!!!
Best margaritas! Great food! Fun time! Highly recomend it
Unlimited chips and salsa were very good. The service was excellent. The margaritas are powerful and expensive ($46 for a pitcher). The food was very good. It got a bit noisy, but wasn't unbearable. A fun place to go for dinner, but a bit expensive for Mexican food.
We have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. The Pollo Cilantro has always been one of the best meals at this establishment. Last evening, they, for some reason replaced the Cilantro with either kale or spinach...I could tell which; but in any case it was marginal at best. No excuse for not telling the customer. We complained and the server said he would tell the chef...that was it. We paid, more than likely will not return.
This is my 3rd trip to The Blue Coyote. I previously ordered the same item. It was delicious. I also tasted my daughter and husbands dishes. They were excellent. The service is always excellent, and is a fun place to go.
This last time I went, I decided to order my favorite Mexican dish. Chili Rellenos. I was surprised to see I was given a choice between fluffy or crispy. Of course "fluffy." I am kind of a snob when it comes to this dish, and when it arrives looking like an omelet, I am usually disappointed.
The plate arrived, there were not one, but 2 chili rellenos. More than I could eat!
I thought the dish tasted okay. A little greasy, and tasted just okay. I was a little disappointed, as everything else I have had, I have loved.
I will continue visiting this great restaurant, and will choose something else to eat
We've dined at Blue Coyote several times but were disappointed this time. Our margaritas were served in a beer mug. We asked our server who was unable to explain. We had to flag him down to order a second beverage.
Seafood fajitas are amazing
Had a reservation (should have specified patio seating). Initially, they showed us to a dismal back room next to a VERY noise party. We requested a move, which they accommodated, in the bar area, but better than the first. Waited about 45-50 minutes for our entrees to come--they apologized that they had a very large party in house. Understandable, but not OUR fault. When food came, it was very good. Waiter did his best
Excellent Margaritas, and great Enchiladas Steak Fahitas! Outstanding service and courtyard seating by the fountain is nice.
We often dine at the Blue Coyote & love their extensive menu of Mexican & Southwest favorites. The food is well prepared & portions are huge. I recently tried two new items which I'd like to recommend to you: the Jalapeno poppers (three large peppers fried in puffed pastry) stuffed with bacon & the beef brisket served on a cheddar & jalapeno roll.
Blue Coyote is a fun local Mexican restaurant. The food is consistently good, the margaritas are strong, the staff is attentive, and the restaurant is lively.
Visited for the first and last time.
Blue Coyote has been one of our favorite Mexican restaurants for years. Our last experience however was very disappointing. We felt the service was impersonal and rushed. Our waitress seemed uninterested and unengaged. The meal service was rushed with the main course arriving shortly after our starters. The food was only mediocre. The chicken fajitas had plenty of meat, onions, rice and beans but only a few slivers of red pepper. We were given two small 6” tortillas shells and when we requested extra shells were told there was a $2 charge. Even the 4 shells were realistically not enough to hold the fillings provided. Seemed very cheap to charge extra for something so inexpensive that was necessary to be able to eat the rest of the dish. Overall it was an unremarkable dinner and likely we will try different restaurant the next time we feel like Mexican food.
My family and I have been here several times so I was surprised at the low quality of service we received on our most recent visit. The host and hostess at the front seemed upset that we were there and when we were seated the hostess said we were in the way of foot traffic. As if we chose to sit where we were. She pushed my 4 year old's seat in without asking because she felt he was in the way. I wasn't happy at all about that.
We arrived early and the hostess was graciously able to seat us. We ordered the salmon and three enchiladas plate. Both delicious. Enjoyed the mango and melon margaritas. Would definitely return.
Vacation with our son
Food and service ice was very good! Menu was dirty and covered with food. We had anti bacterial wipes on us due to traveling and the nationwide flu so we cleaned off the menus with wipes. Don't let this comment keep you from trying this restaurant as food and service was great and patio is very nice.
Good as always.
Fish tacos were not edible. Smelled fishy.
Margarita pitcher had very little alcohol. The chicken verde enchiladas had very little chicken. Also, chicken tasted old and was obvious it wasn’t made that day
Always very good and best marguerites in town.. great place to bring out of town fiends. Fun on Thursday evenings before/after the street fair
Excellent food. They accommodated all my substitution requests (I’m a picky eater). Excellent service.
3 guys who were working on their drinks were loud and annoying.
Food and service excellent.
We’re vacationing in Palm Springs as a group of 12, not always easy to get a Saturday night reservation. Blue Coyote was a perfect choice! We had the best waiter! Don took amazing care of our group! The food was great and margaritas delicious!
Have been eating at Blue Coyote when visiting PS for years. Disappointed in food this year. My husband ordered One kind of fish but another was delivered I ordered fried chili rellentos but they arrived unfried. Don’t think we will go back.
This was my third time to the Blue coyote. I like to go every tme I am in Palm Springs. The service is always excellent. The food is delicious and consistent. The margaritas are the best, bar none! I strongly recommend The Blue Coyote!
Great location with large patio. We had a nice spot on the front patio. Chicken Fajitas and Guacamole were very good - large portions.
Palm Springs and the surrounding area are rich with wonderful restaurants that serve Mexican food. The Blue Coyote stands out, in part, because of its very relaxed atmosphere (don't come when in a hurry - the ambiance will be wasted) and festive outdoor patios. My favorite is the house special three enchiladas covered with cheese. Truly, a wonderful place to visit.
Consistently good! Love sitting outside...cozy. The smoked chicken enchiladas are amazing!
I had the chi ken sunburst salad and my hubbie had tge tortilla soup. Both were delicious!
Always have a good time here. Food is good. Service was good. Margaritas were very good!
Blue Coyote offers a huge menu of well prepared Mexican & Southwest fare. Portions are extremely generous & the outdoor garden is lovely.
Palm Springs doesn’t lack for good Mexican restaurants, and while every local has his or her favorite., it’s worth giving the competition a try from time to time. Blue Coyote benefits from a relaxing outdoor courtyard, shielded just enough from the adjacent main drag to offer a feeling of solitude. The menu here covers all the basics, but serves them up with real flavor and in more than ample portions. Service is generally polite and prompt. Try it for a change of pace from some of the tonier establishments up and down the block.
margaritas were wonderful, food was prepared well service was fast and accurate,
It was so nice our friends did not want to leave!
We go to Blue Coyote whenever we're in Palm Springs, and we've never been disappointed.
Good food, very good Wild Coyote Margarita. We were seated outside and every now and then the breeze would provide a bit of sewer gas aroma, I think from the street, not inside. Not a lot, just enough to notice. Very friendly staff, good service, large portions. We will return soon.
