Blue Coyote Bar & Grill Ratings and Reviews
The Blue Coyote Bar and Grill is a one-of-a-kind Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs, in that its outdoor dining area is delightfully eclectic (including interesting lighting and fountains and ponds), and the food is very hearty Mexican fare. With indoor dining capabilities (and heaters and misters outside), it's a great place whatever the weather to relax, have fun, and share dining and talking. There is certainly an at-home atmosphere, and a welcome place to go for a relaxed evening (much more than "just a meal").
Food was ok. Waiter was pushy. Wine choice sucked. So I had water. We ordered one order of chicken fajitas and a small guacamole salad. When we asked if we could have sour cream for the fajitas instead of more guacamole, tbe the answer was a resounding NO. Not great average and i would not go there again!
We made last minute reservations on New Years Eve and didn’t expect much. But this restaurant was fantastic. It exceeded our expectations with perfect outdoor ambiance, heat lamps to keep us warm in our fancy New Years dresses, and delicious food for a good price. Loved it.
Our reservation was in the book and we were seated promptly at a very desirable table for our party of eight. The service was prompt and had our server had no issue with breaking our bill into three checks. The food was delicious and I think everyone enjoyed their meal. This is one of our favorites in Palm Springs and we'll certainly be back to enjoy again!
We've been wanting to try the restaurant for several years, and I am glad we finally stopped in. All of our meals were delicious, I had the enchilada en mole, and boy oh boy were they decadent. The best mole I have had in any restaurant ever. The drinks were good not as well manicured as the food, but we went mostly for the food.
The Blue Coyote Bar & Grill is one of many great outdoor (and other) Mexican restaurants in Palm Springs. Many are unique, and each has its own personality. For outdoor dining and a "local feel," none are more interesting than the Blue Coyote. The menu is expansive, and something can be found for all. Food portions tend to be generous. Service is friendly, and everyone is (and feels) welcome - from tourists to conventioneers to locals to any- and everyone else. To assure a spot and a preferred table (we prefer to be near the sidewalk, so we can "people watch," as others stroll by; others prefer a quiet corner). Misters in the summer; heaters in the evening... and indoor dining on the rare occasion that it may be necessary. Enjoy!
Blue Coyote Bar & Grill is one of the best places to go in this area for fabulous and fun Mexican food, served in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. In a community of seemingly endless great Mexican restaurants, the Blue Coyote Bar & Grill is a standout, in part because of its quaint and charming outdoor seating area (and convenient parking in the back, with the feel of a special and private entrance to the restaurant). We love it there!
We have been going to Blue Coyote for 12 years, and until recently, it was our first choice for Mexican food. Now, they have had a lot of staff turnover and there chicken dishes all seem to have the same marinade, no matter what dish you order. The service is fine, but nothing special.
The plus is they do take reservations, and we have a tendency to go with large parties...
Blue Coyote is reliable for service, food and pleasant, outdoor ambiance. We had jalapenos in serape (always tasty!) and the special house chicken. Eating under the olive trees with water gurgling nearby makes for a peaceful, welcome mini-retreat in the middle of our day.
