Online reservations at Blue Cow kitchen & bar can only be made directly on their website.
great food and ambiance>> Our server was excellent and split all our small plates and even gave us a little extra on the drinks.
Excellent food, particularly good vegetable accompaniment; I would recommend this establishment to anyone who appreciates culinary conciousness and contemporary decor.
Odering directly off the menu at this restaurant works splendidly for dinner. I made prior reservations - of course, I arrived late - and the staff was extremely accommodating.
This restaurant provided something quite rare (in the scope of my personal experiences within Los Angeles, CA): the sensation of being pleasantly surprised.
Came here prior to attending a show at the music center and loved the look of the space! The staff was friendly and attentive and the food and rinks were good. The big drawback was the noise level. We sat inside and it was just deafening at times. It's due to the design of the space - had surfaces all around, so there is nothing to absorb the noise.
We sat outside and it was so nice with the sun, trees and the downtown ambience. My friends had pizza, burger & fries and cobb salad, respectively. They said all were excellent. I had a Caesar salad with chicken and it was delicious. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We will return!
Great lunch on the patio. Share a pizza and a salad, and both were delicious. Always find something tasty to eat.
Food was great. Service not so much. Took at least 10 minutes for a server to even welcome us and when you’re on a lunch hour that’s not good.
Long time before took lunch order. Fortunately food came shortly thereafter. Asked for no onions in my salad, had to pick them out. No comment from server when took dish away with all the onions on it. Otherwise food good.
The service was a bit slow and the food took forever to come out. Food was tasty but the service took away from the experience.
Busy, cute environment with a loud buzz. Food was great - simple menu; quickly prepared at happy hour time.
We chose this place because it was close to our concert venue and advertised gluten free pizza. We were real bummed that they ran out of gluten free dough at 6pm on a Saturday. Tri Tip was so-so
Great food! Daniel is a wonderful server, so personable and attentive. Thank you.
Concise menu has enough variety for occasional visits. Best value for full service dining (with full bar) easy 10-minute walk to the left Music Center, MOCA, and the Broad. Hearty, unsophisticated fare featuring fresh & seasonal ingredients (owners are the Mendocino Farms people). Economical validated parking — 2 hours free, $7.50 maximum. Skilled bartenders.
Looking for a good/ enjoyable dinnervthat wasn’t too pricey and was walking distance from the Music Center. This fit the bill! Enjoyed food and service. But it’s REALLY noisy! We’ll wait for good weather, go back and sit on their patio!
The quinoa salad was ordered by 3 of our party of 4. More quinoa than salad. The restaurant made up for our complaint by bringing banana ice cream to share. I had been here before but ate outside. I won’t come back in cold weather because one can’t have a conversation at a small table for 4 because the noise level is so high.
This is our favorite spot for grabbing a bit before going to The Disney or The Music Center. The prices are great, the food fresh and local, the service great (Daniel is the best). My favorite is probably The Butcher Board: three amazing dips served with amazing veggies like watermelon radishes, endive, and radicchio as well as grape tomatoes and carrots sliced lengthwise.
I love this place! I've been there many times with my husband and/or with friends before performances at The Music Center. The food is always good, the prices are beyond reasonable and the serving staff couldn't be better. I've already recommended Blue Cow Kitchen to a number of people and they've all had positive experiences there. Good stuff!
Consistently good food and service.
Went for a pre- theater meal at the Opera. Was perfect for that: short walk, good service, small but adequate selection. One of 3 people did not like her meal choice; the other 2 did. Prices were quite fair.
We enjoyed a very nice dinner on a Friday night. We have eaten here many times as we frequent the music center regularly. Their Dine LA menu was GREAT!!!!
Wife & I enjoyed an early lunch. We both enjoyed the Steak & Noodle salad-excellent. Glad we made a reservation, as things got busy in a hurry. Racer 5 IPA on tap-good choice. Service was good.
Pleasant ambiance, friendly service and great tasting food - especially the Billionaire's sandwich and caesar salad with chicken.
The burgers here are outstanding. The shrimp and grits were just okay-- it was a very sweet sauce and the grits were a consistency that I am not used to- a more solid and bready texture than is usual for that dish. But the burgers and fries are truly excellent.
Really delighted by all the food. The pink eggs and the taquitos were so flavorful, the burger juicy and perfectly cooked.
Enjoyed a nice dinner outside (a warm, winter evening), with attentive service and very good food. The inside seemed a bit noisy and crowded, but would definitely give it a try. Very convenient to Disney Hall, Music Center, etc.
Went with friends before an LA Phil concert. Service was friendly and prompt, food was good, and while there was plenty of lively activity in the restaurant, we were able to have a nice conversation without feeling that it was too noisy.
We sat outside on a chilly evening in late November. Staff was not able to start eutger of 2 space heaters next to abaikable tables.
Inside was way too lous even though itvwas quite empty.
Seevice was charming if inaccurate.
We had requested an outside table, as we wanted to sit outside under the city lights, but when we got there we were told there was a private party outside. There were only two choices of red wine and the one I wanted wasn't available. Our meal was not starting off that great. It was also very noisy inside. We could hardly hear each other. (Another reason we wanted an outside table!). The food was good and we had a nice waiter. But I wouldn't return.
Blue Cow is a great find. It's within a short walk of Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Broad and Ahmanson. The food is great and reasonably priced and higher quality (organic) than the higher priced restaurants on Grand. They have big comfortable booths, as well as tables. We were seated in a booth with big soft throw pillows - so comfy. It's casual and fun and the menu is changed with the seasons, which I love because I get bored with the menu if it doesn't change. You can sit outside too, and we were told that there are live concerts in the summer. We'll be back!
We had the best experience here! My husband and I share a bday and they gave us each our own dessert with candle. The food was amazing- we love bacon and pork belly! The biscuits were delish. We can't wait to come back again!
Too loud and too cold with the door to outside open. We asked to move somewhere warmer but were not obliged, in spite of having a reservation. Waitress was amazing. Food was O.K. but not worth what it cost.
Food was orgasmic! Customer service was exceptional.
We sat outside and even though there was a television and bar and lots of people, it was still quiet enough to have our conversation without any issues.
LOVE that it's farm to table. Food was fresh and absolutely flavorful.
I'd love to introduce more people to this place.
Great food and service. Beautiful outdoor seating and view. Great spot to eat and short walk to the Ahmanson.
Great food. The service was outstanding.
A very interesting twist on comfort food. This was a good find for a small business meal which allowed us to enjoy the unusual menu and have a private conversation.
We really enjoyed the Happy Hour menu, and the service was outstanding.
We always enjoy Blue Cow before or after a show. The food is delicious.
Great sharing plates. Good burgers and salads. Loved the Brussel sprouts.
Took about 40 minutes to be served. This was a working lunch and it made me late for a meeting. That was not good.
great happy hour food; service slow; they kept forgetting about us
Great food and drink at good prices during happy hour, 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Close to museums and Theatres in downtown Los Angeles. So how come Open Table doesn't give points for eating at this terrific, centrally located place?
